Best of luck ladies for this cycle!!!

AFM - CD3 got a letter from the fc giving a weekly timeline (rough) as to whats going to happen in the next few weeks. Am picking up my meds on the 27th and starting synorel on the 31st. Then on the 8th Feb start puregon.
Does anyone know when I stop the pill or if I do at all?? I know the nurses will tell me but I'd rather know now (as usual) LOL if any of you lovely ladies know??

    Hi ladies,

n2l, wow!!!!! Fantastic fertalization rate hun Now we'll be keeping everything crossed that the embie/s stick!! Go girl!

vic, well done with your transfer! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you also. Let's hope the embie gets stuck nice and deep and latches on tight! Don't beat yourself up about not DTD, some people recommend it, others say don't do it! I did have to jab myself last time I did a stim cycle 3 years ago, but I was on the gonal f pen and it was fully loaded from memory so I just had to adjust my dosage and jab. I have no probs with needles and the IVF ones are so nice and thin. This time I'm doing the puregon pen and you have to put the pen together and I was just panicking I would stuff it up......but it was OK

myturn, not long before you start 'stabbing' yourself! lol. I use the word 'stabbing' too, it sounds so dramatic! hahahahaha. At least DF knows what it's like to have to stab yourself once and then twice daily to get those precious eggies. Men, they have it sooooooo easy!

Hi Amy, Saffy, liseyt and anyone else I might have missed!

AFM, day 3 of stabbing. Going OK so far, but I have forgotten what to expect 'side effect' wise........anything big? I had some strong pain on my left side, but it seems I get strong O pain on that side usually. I'm thinking maybe that ovary is more dominant????? I've had big ugly fibroids in the past that have caused me grief (that's how I lost Josh) but I've been having regular u/s and it all looks clear. I wonder if a sneaky one has appeared...I hope not!

Take care ladies and fingers and toes crossed for everyone!

    B xoxox

    Hi ladies

MissB: glad to hear your jabbing is going well, when is your first scan?

N2L: was so excited to see that you had 4 eggs and they all fertilized well, good luck on sat with the transfer, crossing fingers for you :-)

Jane: you are starting your jabs same day as me, hope it goes well.

Mia01: the waiting to start everything I think is the worst as you just want to get it started, hope the time goes quick for you

Myturn: yay starting jabs next week, hope all goes well with ultrasound on Monday

Vic261: hope your transfer of your thawed embryo has gone well, thinking of you. Sorry to hear you lost one.

Amy_jellybean: hope AF comes soon for you

Keta: good luck with your jabs hope the first one went well today.

Liseyt: it's hard not to get your hopes up, good luck

Now AFM all I can say is yippee I have finally been able to get this process started, AF arrived late last night so today is day 1 and I picked up my gonalf and cetratide, start jabbing in the morning. I am getting DH to do first one for me then I am going to pluck up the courage sat to do one. I to like most of you are excited but I also don't want to get my hopes up but it's hard not to, I don't want to expect to much of myself since it is our first ivf. 1st scan is booked for Tuesday morning, DH has to work and can't come and he hasn't been able to be there for any of them yet because of his shift and I really wish he was with me at all of them.
At least I know he has to be there for the pickup and transfer :-) he just became a team leader and wants his time off for the critical parts of this, which I can understand.

Well it looks like we are all on track and around the same timeframes, can't wait to follow how everyone goes. Baby dust to all and fingers and toes are crossed for you all.

N2L - Good luck for tomorrows transfer. We will all be thinking of you. Hope the bloating is getting better and your getting plenty of liquids and rest.

Kerbear - Good luck with your jabbing tomorrow. Its a very exciting time. Its so hard when the partners cant be with us. My DH has not been to either transfer with me and it was difficult the first time, but now I feel like a pro. And I agree as long as they are there at the important time (for me its the birth) then we can handle the rest.

Miss B - I have only done the Gonal F pen, Cetrotide and Ovidril. Each one more scary than the next, the first time doing it. I think the Ovidrill was the most painful. Thank god it was only once Hope that your fibroids keep away!

Hi to everyone else in here. I think we need a list on who is where? Any offers to do it?

AFM - My DH has been ultra cute this time around. Last time he was pretty much in denial. He was working away and got home a week after my transfer. This time he has been kissing my belly and telling me to take care of bubs, when he leaves for work in the mornings. Silly I know, but its a nice change to have him emotionally invested this time around. Thats what I struggled with last time. Me, I was in love with the my embryos from the minute I knew that they fertilzed, but he has kept his distance emotionally. We had heaps of talks about this over Christmas and I told him what I needed from him to help us cope better. This time I feel we are in a much better place emotionally, its a new year, he is working in town and I guess I am not so emotional this time. Not too sure if thats a good or a bad thing. God this TWW is taking FOREVER!!! And its only been 3 days UGH!!!

kerbear, yay for AF arriving! Hope your jab went well this morning We've both got the u/s on Tuesday Well done to your DH for becoming a team leader!

vic, your hubby is so cute. I love it when our partners show a bit more interest in IVF!

AFM ladies, lucky I rang the IVF nurse today as I miscalculated and thought my second injection was tomorrow but it was meant to be this morning It clearly says day 5 (of your cycle), but I counted 5 days from the 1st injection which is on day two of the cycle. Hellooooooooo! Anyway, I jabbed at midday so she said to pick a time tomorrow morning and stick to it. She also said that I should have called on day one of my cycle......oops!
So first u/s is on Tuesday morning. Kinda doesn't feel anything 'extra' is happening/growing in there

    for us all!

Vic261- know what you mean about the list thing, I actually went through the new thread and wrote notes down so I didn't miss anyone and then knew who was up to what cause I was on my phone :-)
I hope your 2ww goes quick for you, 3days down already, it is really cute to see DH is more attached this time it's nice to know they can let there walls down.

Thanks missb, DH is happier to not being doing so much hard physical work but still has some to do as he makes PVC pipe so always out on lines checking it.
Can't believe we have our scans on same say!!
It's such a hard thing with having to remember what to take when, glad you got your sorted.

AFM - well I got in a bit of a panic this morning as I had a certain time I had to go to work and DH was due home in enough time to do my injection for me and he was late. Luckily right when I got ready to do it he pulled up, was so relieved as I wanted to feel it first before I did it myself, such a sook I know :-)
I don't know if it is some AF soreness or injection my abdomen just feel tight and a bit achy but other than that I am good.
Hope everyone else has had a good day and has a good weekend.

well done kerbear!! The first jab is always scary I got a great tip when I was doing my first cycle, and that was to pinch the skin quite hard when the needle is going in so you are feeling the pinch more than the jab! It worked for me anyway And don't forget to always change the jabbing spot (I always alternate from right to left etc).

    Have a great weekend all!

I totally agree with you all about being confused, really interested to know where everyobe is up to but find it so confusing- we really do need a list.

Kerbear- well done! another tip is to put a bit of ice on the spot to numb the area. + dont think about it (easier said, I know) but the more you think about the needle going in, the more you tend to hesitate and thats when it hurts more. it's a bit exciting though isn't it- like things are starting to happen?

Miss B- Don't feel bad about misunderstanding the process We are given so much info that it all becomes confusing at times

Vic- 3/14 must be so exciting and nerve racking and furiating all at the same time!!! but good DH is being so good! think my DH like yours probably feel like they have to keep a steady head while we are so emotional. he told me that the hardest part is having to watch me go through all this and he doesnt have to do anything. must be hard for them.

AFM- having bad period pain and a really heavy flow this time, but imagine thats all due to the huge amount of hormones atc floating around my body. Finding Lucrin injections much easier (than orgalutran) and have been better this time about doing them at the exact same time everyday. I made a deal with DH, that on days that I don't have to be up early.. he has to get up and bring the stuff into me in bed!! counting down the days till my U/S, as thats when it all when haywire last time. Fingers crossed.

Look forward to hearing from everyone more xxx lise

You'll be fine hun, I promise! You'll surprise yourself how easy it is

Just a quick question ladies......I read somewhere in the orgalutran injection leaflet that you have to withdrawl the needle a bit after you jab yourself to see if you're bleeding, and if there is blood you take out the needle and try again, as if you see blood the injection didn't work??? Well, for the first time since I've been jabbing, there was a biggish drop of blood after I injected the puregon.....does that mean the injection didn't work? It didn't feel any different this time, just saw a big drop of blood when I took the needle out.

YAY Vic - that little one is sticking in there. SO cute re your DH its nice that he's in there with you.

Kerbear- my DH cant be there for everything either (only the essentials) but hey most of the stuff I only need to go too like picking up all the meds etc, still wish he was there like you do with your DH. Big you're not alone!

to everyone else Miss B and Jane and anyone else I've missed

AFM - still on the pill LOL (like I expect anything to change yet haha) just quick question, do you just have to stab yourself once a day right on the same time like synorel (I got told you have to take synorel twice a day exactly 12 hours apart)?? Does the synorel need to be in the fridge? Just wondering how I can do this without having to take my meds at work but I sometimes finish late so if it doesnt have to be in the fridge its easier to just take it out of my bag and go to the bathroom and inhale synorel without anyone seeing, or is it more involved??

Still no emails to update me on all your replies, hummm wondering why.......

    Have a great weekend ladies!

thanks n2l, I dunno, seems a bit strange doesn't it? I'll ask the nurse on Tuesday..

mia, not sure about the spray, I've never had to do it hun. But the stabbing has to be done at the same time each day. I started off with a night injection for 4 days (puregon, gotta be kept in the fridge) then on the 4th day of stabbing (so 5th day of the cycle) I have to do a morning jab of orgalutran (aslo kept in the fridge) as well. I chose to do the night injection at 9.30 (in case we go out to dinner, it's always early anyway cos of the LO) so I didn't have to rush home. The night injection can be done from 6-10pm and the morning one from 6-10am. Hope that helps

    Hi All,

Hope you girls are all travelling well.

N2L - thinking of you today and hoping the transfer goes well.

Mia - I am on different meds to you but mine need to be kept in the fridge. At my clinic they give you a cool little esky that you can always put the meds in with an icepack in order to keep it cold if you have to take when you go out some where.

MissB - I am on Gonal-F - had a tiny droplet of blood after removing needle after first injection but I can't imagine that means it didn't work - I guess it could just mean that not 100% of the med was injected. But I'm not sure.

Vic - Fingers crossed that this is the sticky one.

Kerbear - Woo hoo - first injections completed. Congrats. Sounds like you will soon be a pro at this.

Good luck to everyone else too.

AFM the DH did my first injection for me last night. It didn't hurt at all, I was so surprised. He has kindly offered to do most of them which is awesome becuase even though it didn't hurt I'm not sure whether I'd be able to stick myself with the needle - eeek needles - you think after so many tests, prodding and poking that I would be used to them -but no.

    PUPO

Just had two three-day compacting embies returned to their rightful home.

Apparently, compacting is good. One was 9 cell, the other 7 possibly more (hard to tell due to compacting)

Eta: forgot to say I also have two embies in the freezer
