Hi girl- just a quickie from me, I am back for a FET, got a pos OPK this morning so will go in for blood test and then a transfer next week. I think Kass is doing an FET as well?? I'll be back for persies later but there are so many of us around- good luck and babydust to everyone!!
Oneday- my Dh was there for our first transfer but it was a saturday, he will come next week (calling in sick) but his boss does get a bit funny about taking so much time- I guess it doesn't really matter in the long run, its better than them getting the sack lol
-
Hi everyone
Saffy - I'm doing an fet too :) We'll probably be transferring around the same time - good luck with yours!
Oneday and katones - sorry you have to do your transfers alone. It's a pity work can't be more flexible.
loops - thanks for the well wishes - it's an fet so I don't need to worry about follies this time around :) Hopefully today was the last bt. Hope you're right about af - sorry about the migranes!
-
DH came home to be with me at our transfer :) he even took piccies of our embies :) now the dreaded 2WW....
the DR that did the transfer was also the DR the did the EPU :) she is sooo nice!!!
-
Katones- good luck with your TWW, your DH is sweet too!
Kass- I am transferring on Wednesday, have to drive 2 hrs for transfer so I hope the embie makes it, I wonder if they will know before we leave home, oh well, I'll ask next week. GL with blood test today x
-
Thanks Saffy - I'm still not there, another one tomorrow. Hopefully yours will thaw out perfectly! I had one transfer ages ago where they weren't sure if it would thaw that well. They ended up calling me pretty early (maybe 6:30am?) to say it was going ahead. Hopefully your clinic can do the same for you. Good luck!
-
Hi laidies well EPU went well today, i got 16 eggs :) but on the other side of things with the sperm didnt go as good :( my DH had to give 2 samples today as the first one wasnt so good! they said there was lots of sperm with no tails! so they wanted another sample to give them more good sperm to work with and the nurse also talked to my DH about having his sperm surgically removed if there is a next time as this might help the sperm. We are going to wait and see how many embies we have tomorrow to make our decision about what day we are transfering, the scientist said if we get 5 or more fertilise she thinks we should do a day 5 transfer but i dont know i think im leaning more towards day 2 to try something different, i dont want to go through the heartache of only getting one again!! Im not in as much pain as i was with my last EPU which is good.
Katones im glad your transfer went well and your DH could be there :) fingers crossed for the next 2 weeks xxxx
-
Hello hello, I have been faithfully reading but just lurking and not posting. We are 10 days into our down reg injections and I am a tired, crabby cow. I got to work this morning and started to cry because I wanted to go home. Ugh, hormones huh?
Oneday - awesome result with 16 eggies - way to go you!!!! Are you doing ICSI this cycle? Hoping they managed to get enough good swimmers so that you get a fantastic fert report tomorrow.
Katones - g/l for the next two weeks and yay for two little embies to put back :) So glad that your DH could be there. Mine can't bear the thought of me going to any appointments by myself - lucky for him he has a good and understanding boss
Saffy & Kass - hoping your little snowbubs thaw out beautifully - good luck :)
Nothing to low - I know that I'm miles behind the times here but my clinic told me to do both injections (Puregon and Lucrin equivalent) in the evening at the same time. Judging by the variety in jab times between us all, perhaps it doesn't make too much difference? Correct me if I'm wrong anyone?
A big HI to Loops, JBM and anyone I've missed and welcome Maruschke
One more week before stims start - yay. The last week has draaaaaaggggggeeeedddd. BTW thanks for the input re dumba$$ family members - I am completely avoiding this person now. I don't need the stress and if their stupid comments are anything to go by, they really aren't too concerned whether or not this works for us so in my opinion, they have no right to be told anything about how we are doing.
-
Thanks melissa :) yes we have done ICSI with all 3 STIM cycles as my DH's sperm dosnt swim there are only ever twitchers :( im so nervous about the results i hope they ring early.
Goodluck with your STIM cycle, i wish you all the best xxxx
-
Hi all,
oneday - Sounds like your EPU went well! Dont worry about the swimmers. I am sure they will get enough to do the job. And, as we keep saying, it only takes one!!
melissa - I am a b*tch on a good day so I am worrying about how the gonal f will effect me. At least I have a good excuse (although not telling work)
katones - Congrats on your transfer. Rest up and take care :)
Saffy and Kass - good luck on the big thaw :)
AFM - officially cd1. I rang the clinic and I will start the gonal f on Saturday (btw, the nurse recommended jabbing myself at night but said, it didnt really matter). I will go in for a scan/BT next Thursday to see how I am travelling. Starting to seem so real now. Just wish I didnt have such bad AF cramps :( Oh well...
Hope everyone else is well :D
Take care all x

Hi ladies *visiting*
I have a question that maybe you can help me with? We were due to start ivf in March this year, but it may be possible to start a month earlier in Feb. I have almost been rocking backwards and forwards at the prospect all day today. Would you advise starting in Feb? Everything is prepared. We have had our bt's, consultations and we just need to call in on cd1. I guess I am asking for opinions based on your experience..........I have been on clomid for 5 months now. Supplements are all going so physically I am ready.............. Just your thoughts really?
Sorry for waffling?
Thank you x
-
williever if you think your ready then go for it, if your on a long down reg cycle your on injections go for a few weeks before EPU and transfer anyway. My IVF journey has been a long and hard one but in that respect im glad i started when i did. I wish you lots of luck xxx
-
YAY 13 fertilised! i cant believe it last time we got 20 eggs they injected 16 and only 5 fertilised this time we got 16 eggs and 13 fertilised, its crazy but i guess them having 2 samples to work with helped pick good ones. So im booked in for transfer on tueday at 12 and they are checking them on sunday and if things arn't looking so good we will go in on sunday for transfer, but thats not going to happen we are going to get lots of blasties for tues :)
-
oneday: woohoo !!!!!!!!!!!! yeah for the eggies. good luck for transfer
-
sending goodluck vibes to all for a great week
-
sending lots of growing vibes up until transfer day hun :)
-
Oneday that is fantastic news, how exciting, good luck babe!!
WillIever- I would just go for it, there is so much waiting I wish I had started earlier
Hi everyone else, good luck to all!
-
Awesome result oneday!
Williever - It sounds like you're ready to go - Is there a reason that you would prefer to leave it another month? Good luck!
ntl - congrats on getting started! Hope it goes really smoothly for you and your levels next thurs are great!
Melissa - hope the next week goes quickly for you!
Hi to everyone I've missed!
-
GO Oneday - that is AWESOME, hopefully will be lucky number 3 for you then :)
Williever - I agree with the other girls, if you feel ready now, go for it!
Have a great weekend girlies, ugh I can be Mrs Crankypants at work all weekend. Fun fun!!
-
Congratulations oneday on an excellent fert result.
Katones Good luck in the 2WW. FX for a BFP.
Saffy and Kass I hope this FET is the one for you both.
Loops Sorry to hear you're having migraines. I had the same when AF turned up on Thursday. It was very nasty and I've never had that side effect before from the Synarel.
MelissaI Hope you're not too cranky.
Williever Hope you're able to make a decision soon.
AFM I start jabbing tonight so it's finally starting.
-
Thanks ladies.....still going through the discussions with DH. Just starting a new job so that was one part of it, but I think you're right. Time to get stuck in.
Good luck all and see you all here again soon (or you may have graduated by then!)xx

Happybaby goodluck to you also xxxxx
To everyone else i hope things are going good xxxxx
AFM nothing new just hoping and praying we get good news about our embies tomorrow. Started crinone this morning, yuk! do you ladies ever have concerns that the body dosn't get the chance to fully absorb the progesterone cause it starts to come out when you walk around or when you go to the toilet big clumps of it come out? sorry for TMI lol
-
Hi Lovely Ladies
Williever ~ welcome and wishing you all the best. No matter what you decide it will all be happening very soon, so its exciting for you. GL!
Oneday ~ great news that 13 fertilised, you should get at least a few out of that, :crossfingers: for you!
Goodluck to you other ladies starting - excited for you as well and :bluedust::stickyvibesgirl: for you all!!
AFM ~ AF finally showed - good at last! *sigh* DH out of action with his fractured vertebrae's so wont be any BFP's for us anytime soon :( Just hope my cycles start getting back to normal again now. I turn 31 on 7th Feb, I always wanted to have kids before 30 - very sad. Sorry for the downer.
-
3 days since transfer (5 days since egg pick up) and i have period-cramp pains kinda sharpish aswell.....
-
Sounds very positive Katones! ~ FX'd for you. Goodluck
-
katones fingers crossed its implantation pains :)
Loops im sorry, i know how dissapointing it is to have goals for our life and it dosn't pan out that way, i always wanted my first by the time i was 23 and now im nearly 25 i always thought id have both my children by that age :( my DH had an MRI scan on his knee, he got a referral to go to the specialist as it dosn't look good :( but he has just started his mature age apprenticeship and we dont want to jeprodise it so if he does need an operation on it it will have to wait 3 years. I hope your DH's injury gets better very soon xxx
Iv had a little amount of cramping but hoping its just the crinone. Got a text from the scientist to say our embies are on track, so not sure if that means they are all ok?? guess i will find out on tuesday.
-
oneday and katones- have my fingers crossed for you both!
quick question- I only have one frozen embie, defrosting on Wed for transfer. My FS told me it has a 90% chance of successfully 'thawing', is this what other peopel have been told? Sometimes I think they exaggerate statistics. I'll be devastated if it doesn't thaw and I have to start (and pay for ) another stim cycle.
-
FX crossed for both of you katones and oneday.
Saffy I was told the same stat - 90% chance of surviving the thaw. Both my embies survived too although only the first went on to implant.
The first FET the embryologist said "all the cells were alive"
The 2nd FET the embryologist said "95% of the cells were alive"
Good luck with the transfer.
-
saffy. out of 6 of mine that were frozen only one didn't thaw out properly so i think the odds are good. good luck to you. fingers crossed. x
oneday:good luck for tuesday. x
loops: good luck to you too. glad AF showed up . hope you feeling o.k
katones: hope those cramps go away. and all is good for you. pray for some good news.
nothing2lose: hooray officially on IVF. i don't know if that is a good thing, but i am sure it is as at least somehthing is happening for you. keep us informed with whats happening and wishing you the best luck.
williever: welcome and good luck to you.
if i missed you i am sorry
afm: still waiting, i can't do anything til FS app and then who even knows then as then finances come into play.
only got just over 3 weeks now til FS app. waiting til then.....
chat soon
-
JBM - not too long to go! Hope your finances will be ok
Saffy - Good luck with the thaw! So far I've had 4/5 thaw successfully. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Oneday - sounds like they're going well - hope you get good news tomorrow. I always do progesterone in bed so I don't have to get up again til morning. The stuff that comes out is meant to be (I forget exactly) wax or something that isn't meant to be absorbed.
Katones - sounds very promising! :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:
Loops - I feel the same way. Had my last transfer stuck around I would have been due 4 days before my 30th. Hopefully it will happen soon
NTL and Happybaby - hope the jabbing is going well!
afm - transfer is set for Friday
-
Hi Ladies
Oneday ~ thanks hun, (((GBH))). Hope your DH is not in too much pain with his knee. It sucks having to wait so long. No news is good news I guess, FX'd tight for a great transfer! I'm sure the cramping would be due to Crinone - its horrid stuff.
Saffy ~ I've never had any to freeze in the 1st place so I'm not sure on the stats but will be :crossfingers: for you! Hope all goes well
Thanks JBM ~ I'm not feeling too bad, just want things to start looking up for us - surely they will soon. Hope the 3 weeks goes quick.
Happybaby ~ thanks for your message the other day, migraines are the worst arent they. Hope things are well with you.
Kass ~ yep that sucks. Hopefully your dream/miracle will come very soon! All the best for Friday, will be thinking of you!
Hi all and sending out lots of :pink-babydust::stickyvibesboy:
-
Thanks ladies for your well wishes for tomorrow :) im so excited, i feel different this time maybe because we are transfering 2 so i have double chance of atleast one working? I had a BT today to check my progesterone level so im hoping my levels are ok.
Ladies that are also about to have their transfers for FE cycles, goodluck xxxxx will see you in the 2ww thread :)
Saffy i think thats what they said to me with my first STIM cycle that be prepared it may not survive the thaw, i always felt ok about it though because i had a day 6 embryo so if one of the day 5's didn't thaw they could get my day 6 out and transfer that pretty much straight away. But dont stress cause all my 3 thawed perfectly xxxxx
-
I am not well :(
headache from h$ll.....panadole rapid isn't even cutting the mustard!!!
sore jaw/wisdom teeth
and nausea.....
-
Katones i hope you feel better really soon, i wasn't feeling the best yesterday but feel ok so far today. Will be joining you in the 2ww thread this afternoon after my transfer :)
So nervous but excited ladies to find out how our embies are doing and for our outcome this time!
-
:hello:Hi!
Oneday - I have my fingers crossed for you today. I hope all goes well and you get some perfect little frosties as well. GL with your transfer
Katones - Your signs sound promising. I remember feeling very similar (noticable) pains on the cycle that I fell. Perhaps your stinking headache is from a surging HCG level!!! I too have had a migraine for the last 2 days and was up at 2am vomiting from it. It has eased a bit but I am missing my voltaren.. the panadol does nothing.
Saffy - I was told that my blasties had a 90% chance of thawing successfully. I suppose it also varies clinic by clinic too. Best of luck for tomorrow's thaw.
Loops - How is your DH going? What challenges you have both had!! Although from what I know of you in here, you are such a positively strong women, I know you will get through it.
JBM - Hope your 3ww till your FS goes fast for your. All this waiting around can drive you crazy, but at least you have a date booked in and can plan from there on in.
NTL - GL with your cycle.
Williever - Welcome. No time like the present. I don't think you are ever 100% ready to start a cycle. I am on my 5th and still have a slight feeling of hesitation each time.
Happybaby - :hello:
Kass - GL for your transfer on Fri.
Sorry if I have missed anyone else . It's hard to catch up on everyone in here.
AFM - I have started the estrogen for my FET, however am stressing that I may have to cancel. I have had a cough since Oct and have had antibitoics, tests, xrays and been given the all clear by the respitory specialist, however my doctor wants me to go to an ENT specialist and get them to look down my throat. I have managed to get into one on thurs which will also be my first scan for lining, so I am feeling that it is all touch and go at the moment. (I had also held back my cycle a week for the respitory specialist appt)
I really want to get this cough sorted beforehand in case there is something seriously wrong, but as you ladies know, the urgency you sometimes feel to get into the next cycle is causing me some angst.
Also, does anyone else here have issues with the full bladder at ET? I have got to the point that I am in so much discomfort and fear that I am going to burst that I work myself up into a bit of a state and don't even watch the transfer. My bladder is not great at the best of times and it also doesn't help that they also press on your tummy with an ultrasound. Last time I didn't drink enough and they sent me back out. How much do you drink and when before your transfer?
-
tantee-hope they get your cough sorted soon, obviously they would have tested you for whooping cough? As for the bladder, I have a terrible bladder so didn't really drink much at all, just what they recommended, other people were in agony in the waiting room- not me lol!! When I got in the nurse said it was fine and that you don't really need that much anyway, so I'm surprised they made you have more- the last thing you want to do after a transfer is go to the toilet straight away! Good luck hope your bladder holds out.
-
Tantee - hope everythings ok and you can go ahead. My clinic doesn't use ultrasound and they insist on emptying your bladder before you transfer! I've always thought it was a bit funny that they don't since it seems like it would be helpful. They've told me some stats that make it seem like the ultrasound doesn't make a huge difference to the outcome - maybe you could ask if you could do it without?
Hope your transfer went well today oneday!
-
Hey ladies well everything went great today, its my father in laws birthday so already a special day and then i got a call from the hubby (who wasn't going to be able to make it to transfer) but he was working only 15 mins away from the clinic so he asked his boss if he could come and his boss said it was fine. We had 2 lovely looking embryo's transfered and another 5 made it to the blast stage BUT she said they arn't quite up to where they should be???? i dont get this my other clinic froze all blasties and this clinic discards them if there not the 'best' quality, im a bit upset about this we have never had 7 blastiest before i was so excited and then they went onto say they most likely wont be suitable to freeze? but they are going to culture them until tomorrow and see. Has anyone else had this happen to them before? Anyways i also got my results from my progesterone test yesterday and it was 470!!!!!!! the nurse said she has never seen a progesterone level so high before, so she said i shouldn't be worried at all about my levels but gave me another blood form to get tested in another week just to put me at ease. I feel good about this so fingers crossed!
Tantee im sorry to hear your cough is still playing up on you. I think do what you feel is right from your heart that way you wont have any regrets, good luck. I have felt pretty uncomfortable during previous cycles but with westmead they ask you to empty your bladder and then only drink enough so its 1/4 or 1/2 full and today i didnt feel uncomfortable at all and i wasnt asked to drink more, maybe bring it up with your nurse xxx
-
Oneday, that is awesome news!!!! Let's hope they snuggle in tightly. Good luck in your 2ww. Wow, your test day is not far away at all!!!! How exciting!!!!!
Did your FS recommend 2 due to the number of transfers you have had? I am curious as my FS has suggested 2 this time.
I had 4 blasts frozen at day 5 and they then called me on Day 6 to say they had frozen 2 more which I was totally not expecting. So there is hope yet for your little ones. My clinic too will only freeze what they think can survive the thaw.
I was with your clinic (I think) about 2 years ago and I know that they had a new head embryologist come in from o/seas who I think was starting a major overhaul in their embryo and freezing procedures which from what I could tell was well welcomed by the staff.
Kass & Saffy - thanks for your well wishes. It is just nice to be able to talk about these things with people who understand and don't blow it off. If I were to tell anyone else, they would kind of be like, get over it, no big deal. But you ladies understand that it is another worry to add to all the other anxieties of this IVF journey and just how vulnerable you can feel.
I was tested for whooping a while back which came back neg but Specialist thinks I may still have had it. (Also had it as a bub) but want to make sure all is OK as I was a smoker for many years. Have not smoked in a long time except for 8 days last year after my miscarriage which triggered the whole cough off. I think I was so angry at my body after trying to do so much for so long to get pregnant, I thought 'bugger it'. That will show me who's boss - my body!
