    Hi girls,
Im hoping one of you may be able to answer my question. I am currently taking the pill in preparation for my next cycle (OI using puregon and TSI). Do you think it would make a difference if I was to stop taking the pill a couple of days early? A couple of days would mean (if it all pans out as the last cycle did) that DH is home from work and I will not have to drive and hour and a half each day to BD. It would also mean I could test before going overseas for a work trip. My theory is that it will take a couple of days off the pill before a withdrawal bleed starts and that when this happend it would be considered CD1. Is that right? TIA

Amy_Jellybean - hope you have had some time to process the fact that you are doing a full stim cycle. Even more so I hope it ends with a BFP!

I don't know if it will make a difference, but I think you should speak to the nurses or FS before you change things like that around - you don't know if there is any reason to make sure the cycle is a certain length?? It would suck to change it around and for it not to work as a consequence... what a waste of money and time it would be then. I reckon give them a call and find out first before you make any decision - from what you've said it makes sense, but I don't know, I would be reluctant to change things around without confirming with FS. If I was going to be overseas at the time of testing - I'd either wait till I came home (and probably POAS when overseas!! lol) or I'd do the cycle the next time the dates worked out okay.

I hope it is all okay and you can stop earlier though

    Hi Ladies

Am joining your thread after TTC for 3 years, IUI nil success, Clomid, Metphormin, 1 natural BFP however MC at 6 weeks in Feb11, so now moving onto IVF.
Waiting for AF to arrive and then am starting on the pill like you Keta.
Sorry not sure whether its ok to stop the pill, I would hope so, but I would call the clinic and speak to the nurses before stopping just incase.

Anyways just popped in to say hello

    Hello from me too!!!

Hope I can join you lovely ladies very soon with my own cycle of IVF. I'm an old(er) chook (should really post in the older ladies TTC, hehehehe) and my DF and I will be trying for a sibling for our 21 month old DS with cycle number 3. We've done a fully stim cycle in 2008 which gave us success with two embies (one fresh and one frozen) so I guess this fresh stim cycle will be try no. 3. I think I will be jabbing myself early next week, scared but a bit excited too.

Lets hope 2012 is good to us all!

Hi Mia, bring on the AF!

    Hi all,

Just joining this thread too - I've been TTC for 18 months +, PCOS, one blocked fallopian tube and severe endo. Lap and D&C back in Sept 11. Been on zoladex the last three months. Starting IVF this month.

Had my nurse appointment today. She was lovely and it went really well. We picked up our cooler of meds and I start jabbing on 13th! Woo hoo. I am actually too scared of the needles to jab myself so DH has offered to it.

So looks like EPU will be late jan and ET early feb. Fingers crossed for a sticky one and that the side effects of the meds in the mean time aren't too bad.

Oh, can I ask for some advice, for those of you who have done this before, do you typically take extra time off work and if so when?I have holiday time up my sleave but not sure if I should take it and / or when would be best to take it with my cycle.

    Hi girls,

Just subbing for this thread as well. A few of you already know me but for tose of you that dont: We have male factor infertility (DH has a blockage and if they remove the blockage it will send him sterile). So they operated on him in Aug 10 and we have enough frozen sperm for 3 stim cycles. We have 1 embie still in storage from our last round but our FS said she would rather we did another stim incase it didnt survive the thaw.

I am starting on 250 Puregon and then will also go on to orgalutran. AF is due around 22 Jan so ill be starting my jabs around 25 Jan and expect egg pick up around 8-10 Feb.

Jane - Last time I took a few days off over the egg pick up (had 3 days off), im glad I did because it gave me a chnace to rest. TBH I wasnt in too much pain after I had it done, just mild period pain type cramps. I had the day of the ET off and went back to work the next day. This time I am going to take the day after ET off as well, mine was particularly painful last time, so much so that I was bawling my eyes out.

I have just changed from full time to part time at work and I am now only doing 3 days per week so im hoping that my egg pick up etc fall on my days off. I work in an office with 9 people and they all know we are doing IVF, my boss (a guy) is very supportive as his fiance went through IVF with her previous husband so he knows a lot about it from her. He has basically told me to take as much time off as I need and to just swap my days around to work with my cycle.

Jane, I only had a day off after the egg pick up so I could rest up, but I actually took 3 or so days off after embie transfer so I could just veg on the couch and give the embie the best chance to attach. This has worked for me both times I had the embie transfer, so that's what I'm going to do this time. I am a SAHM now anyway so that's not an issue, but I don't know how much rest on the couch I will have with a toddler running around! lol. GL in your cycle hun.

    GL to us all ladies!

Hi jane - i think if you are going to take time off, def EPU and a few days after, as some/most people get terrible bloating, some to the point where its debilitating. Mine was bad, but after two days i was ok. ET day is also good to take off to relax with legs in the air!! Agree with the girls about giving the embie the best chance by relaxing. Goodluck sweetie. J. (also a jane!!)

Hi ladies, for those of you that know me, sorry you have to read it all again.
We have been trying to concieve for 2.5 yrs, tried 5 iui with no luck, had a natural bfp in jan last year and mc at 6wks. I have previously had surgery for endimitriosis which is no concern as it hadn't come back when I had my last surgery but I do have PCO on right ovary.
After one blood test in oct last year finally found out that I am running out of eggs and time is ticking so was told by FS to do ivf as soon as which is now where we are at.
Currently waiting for AF (never thought I would actually be telling it to hurry up but want to get started). We are doing antagonist cycle and we are crossing fingers, DH sperm is all good.
Hopefully start our cycle by end of next week. I am also starting acupuncture tomorrow as I figure it can't do any harm but might help.
I am going to have a read through everyone's posts and see where everyone is up to.
Glad to be in the right chat place finally :-)

    Hi Girls

Thought I would jump in too. There seems to be a lot of newbies in here. I am jumping threads, so look forward to now following all your jouneys.

AFM: Me 40 and DH 40 and trying to conceive first bub. We got married in April and have been TTC since November 2010. Went to FS in July '11 and said straight to IVF as no time to waste. In October had EPU with 5 eggs, 4 fertilzed. Couldn't go ahead with transfer due to a polyp that was found during EPU. 4 were frozen. In December had 2 transfered BFN. Just had my scan this morning to line up for another FET hopefully next week. Am using Estrogen to thicken uterus as have stopped ovulating for some reason. I have not been diagnosed with PCOS, however I do have some cysts on my ovaries (thats what the tech said anyway, nobody else has said anything). However all BT came back normal. AMH 15.8. DH sperm all good.

Now, just waiting to call the FS at lunch to see whats happening. I have to fly to see him, so will have to book plane tickets for next week.

    Hi ladies!

Vic, wow that's a great AMH result hun! I'm 41 (will be 42 in may) and just over 12 months ago my AMH was 12.4 I think, and I then repeated the test in October last year and it was 3.8 So we are off in a hurry to start IVF again before my time runs out.

Hi to all the other ladies!

Well, I've got a pretty nasty headache, one I usually get just before AF arrives. I'm on CD26 today, AF should be here in the next couple of days. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!
