The transfer went well today. I had 2 early blastocysts transferred. This is better than the last 2 times as the embies have been a bit behind development wise. At this stage none of the remaining embies were suitable to freeze.
Best of luck Saffy, Meredith and Maruschke.
RhiChiChi sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle.
Janie Hope you're able to start your next cycle soon.
N2L Some times its good to take a break. I did that this time and feel better for it. Hope this one works out for us both.

Well the decision ended up being made for us. Of the 5 fert, today 4 are morulas and 1 is a blast, so the blast (BB quality) is going in and the morula's are being cultured to day 6 in the hope of freezing some. Kinda disappointing :(. Transfer in 45 min.
-
Well done guys!
Can I ask a stupid question? What criteria do blasts need to achieve in order to freeze them? My clinic does 2 day transfers.
-
You can't freeze morulas (day 4 stage development) as they are too dense. You can freeze day 2/3 and blasts though. HTH.
-
Does anyone know how good/bad it is when the embryo's are only morula at day 5, instead of blast? Do they have any potential to stick if they grew to blasts on day 6 and were frozen, and we did an FET? I was a bit shocked to hear that all four remaining embies were only morulas.
By the time I got to transfer my blast was hatching, what is that?
-
I would have to think they would have potential otherwise the clinic would not freeze them.
-
They aren't going to be frozen unless they reach blast tomorrow.
I feel strange about my embryos. I thought I would feel really attached to them, like they were my precious children. But I don't. I really struggle to feel anything about them at all apart from an expensive potential we have created. Weird?
-
Hatching blast is the best it is ready to implant!!!!!
You might end up with Day 6 blasts from the morulas, I had 2 last cycle, am in the process of using them now, my first didn't work, will know about the second in a few wks!! People do get UTD from day 6 blasts ( someone on here is pregnant with twins from 2 x day 6 blastys).
-
HB - well done on your 2 blasts - lets hope you don't need any frosyies anyway
Marushke - A hatching blast is fabulous - never had one of those but it means it is well advanced in development! Hoping some of your morulas make it to freezable blasts (but only as a just in case cos sounds like you have a goodie inside already!)
Today ended up a loong day, what with pre and post transfer acupuncture plus late transfer. Just really glad my acupuncturists now treat at the clinic (just a few lift rides up and down for tx and transfer). Had 1 expanding blast transferred - would have hoped it was a it more progresed but I think DD or her twin was just expanding. We had 6 early blasts still going but not at freezable standard whilst I was there. Will find out tomorrow if any were frozen later this afternoon or by day 6.
NOw we all just head into the dreaded TWW.... ho hum.... try to think of anything but the twinges and cramps down there!
-
We got our final lab report back. Of the 4 morulas, 2 stopped growing, 1 grew to blast then badly fragmented, and 1 grew to a BB quality hatching blast and was frozen.
-
That's great M! Congratulations :D
Congrats on your transfer Meredith!
Let's get some BFPs in here for Christmas!!
-
Great that you got a good quality frostie Marushke -always nice to have one in the bank -so to speak.
Well our final report got us 2 frostie blast bubs - doesn't sounds great from a starter of 20 embryos but even a few years ago we never got more than 1 and given my age, I am reasonably happy with that. Hoping we won't need them ( and we get the dilema of donating) but I do feel more content knowing they are there and at least this cycle's "batch" must have been reasonable quality
-
Two frosties is great! FX you don't need them :)

Well, I can't fit a FET in before QFG shuts down for Christmas/New Year, but I can fit another IUI w/Gonal F in, so I will ring to see if I can't set that up. It will be a tight fit with O around CD14 = 24th December, the day they close. But hey if you are desperate enough you will take those odds...
-
Hope everyone is going okay - how are all the girls in the TWW?
Well we are officially out before we have even started for this cycle. Got all the paperwork back yesterday for DH - Hooray! Woke up this morning with AF - double hooray! Rang clinic to report day 1 and got told that I missed the Christmas cut off - last day to report day 1 was last Friday. So there will be no Christmas miracle for us, but hoping for one in the New Year. So time for me to relax and enjoy the festive season and look forward to the New Year.

*pops head in*
Hi all,
Just thought I would pop my head back in and say hi. I've been watching the chats for the last few weeks, but feeling the need for a bit of BB support tonight!!
First off- congrats to maruschke! I was so glad to see your posts!
I'm heading back to the clinic to hopefully pencil in a date for my FET. I've been on meds for the past ten days to prepare things, and I am looking forwards to the next step!!! Eeek!
Just feeling a bit down at the moment, which I know is normal, but I'm just starting to feel that this is never going to happen for us. That I'll never get to experience the excitement of finding out I'm pregnant. Sorry to be a negative nelly....
Anywho... How is everyone else going? Anyone else looking at maybe squeezing in a transfer before Christmas?
Take care

Hi Rach,
I am doing a transfer today ( FET, last frozen embryo for me), so feeling the pressure too as I DO NOT want to do another stim cycle and thought i wouldn't have to after getting 3 frozen embies this year. Come and join us in the TWW thread when you have your transfer as there is a few of us in there now counting down to our blood tests.
What meds have you been taking? I was on letrazole which is like clomid.
I'm sure you will get a baby out of your haul of 5 frozen embies, hopefully we will all get christmas miracles very soon!! Are your embryos blastocycsts (day 5 embryos)? Have you ovulated yet? Hope your transfer is soon!
Good luck to you x
-
*sneaks in*. Good luck Saffy! *sneaks out again*
-
Oooohhhh Saffy good luck today! Sending loads of sticky vibes your way. PUPO!!!!
Oh Rach - I have felt like that myself - if it helps any your cycles so far seem similar to what happened with me. I tried OI for a number of months with no luck and I got a BFN from my stim cycle, but managed to get a nice haul of frozen embies. I got my BFP on my first FET - maybe for me they just work better - I don't know. But I so remember that wondering if I would ever be pregnant. I was hoping to get a FET in before Christmas in the hope of having our second child, but I missed the cut off so we will probably not be doing a FET until Jan/Feb 2012. I hope this is the one for you.
Maruscke - a big congratulations to you honey. Sending loads and loads of sticky vibes your way.

AF is in the house! Woot woot!! ...feels weird to be excited, but kinda good too!
Down regulation cycle across summer. Let's hope it's a great one!
Ps. Do we need a new thread yet? How does that work anyway? Felt weird posting in an October cycle? Or maybe there is and I've just missed it?
I'm on my phone but will come back and say hi properly later :-)
-
Hi again,
Good luck saffy! Looks like we will be in the tww together.
I have been on ethinyl estrodiol since day two of my cycle. Also started the dreaded Crinone on Wednesday twice a day. Ick! Had my Transfer done today- two day three embryos (only froze at day 2 as didn't have a lot to play with). Both continued to develop overnight, one a bit more ahead of the other. Had a bit of a weird experience though waiting to go in for my transfer- all gowned up, sitting in the lounge and I had what I can only describe as a panic attack- sudden nausea, feeling faint, cold sweat. Just felt god awful!!! Luckily it passed after about 15 minutes, but I think I gave poor hubby a bit of a scare. Not sure what came over me as I'm not usually the type to do that kind of thing!!
Thanks for your kind words Janie- bummer you couldn't fit in a cycle before Christmas- I feel very lucky that I was able to. Will be an alcohol free Christmas though as I will be POAS a few days after.
Myturn- I also get excited when AF comes when I'm waiting to start a cycle. It's strange how one minute we want the darn thing to stay away, the next we are waiting impatiently for it to come!!!
Sorry for the long post. I hope everyone is well and doing ok!!
-
Woop Woop!!! On our way to the FS :)
Af is due around 22 jan so will be using our frozen embryo!!!
-

-
Thanks girls, feels weird to be going back into the clinic again after 18 months!
-
-
Amy good luck with your next cycle!
I'll be doing a stim cycle around the same time as you, I am due to stop the pill 22nd Jan so will get af then and we might be in tww together!
-
Hahaha my Af is due on the same day saffy :)
-
Just picked up my meds, we were meant to be doing a FET but FS wasn't keen on it as we only have one embryo and if it doesn't survive the thaw we have nothing. So starting another full stim, wasn't quite prepared for it so feeling a bit all over the shop at the moment!!! Af is due around 22 jan do jabs will start around 25 jan x

Hi girls,
Im hoping one of you may be able to answer my question. I am currently taking the pill in preparation for my next cycle (OI using puregon and TSI). Do you think it would make a difference if I was to stop taking the pill a couple of days early? A couple of days would mean (if it all pans out as the last cycle did) that DH is home from work and I will not have to drive and hour and a half each day to BD. It would also mean I could test before going overseas for a work trip. My theory is that it will take a couple of days off the pill before a withdrawal bleed starts and that when this happend it would be considered CD1. Is that right? TIA
Amy_Jellybean - hope you have had some time to process the fact that you are doing a full stim cycle. Even more so I hope it ends with a BFP!
-
I don't know if it will make a difference, but I think you should speak to the nurses or FS before you change things like that around - you don't know if there is any reason to make sure the cycle is a certain length?? It would suck to change it around and for it not to work as a consequence... what a waste of money and time it would be then. I reckon give them a call and find out first before you make any decision - from what you've said it makes sense, but I don't know, I would be reluctant to change things around without confirming with FS. If I was going to be overseas at the time of testing - I'd either wait till I came home (and probably POAS when overseas!! lol) or I'd do the cycle the next time the dates worked out okay.
I hope it is all okay and you can stop earlier though ;)

Hi Ladies :hello:
Am joining your thread after TTC for 3 years, IUI nil success, Clomid, Metphormin, 1 natural BFP however MC at 6 weeks in Feb11, so now moving onto IVF.
Waiting for AF to arrive and then am starting on the pill like you Keta.
Sorry not sure whether its ok to stop the pill, I would hope so, but I would call the clinic and speak to the nurses before stopping just incase.
Anyways just popped in to say hello :)
-
Hello from me too!!!
Hope I can join you lovely ladies very soon with my own cycle of IVF. I'm an old(er) chook (should really post in the older ladies TTC, hehehehe) and my DF and I will be trying for a sibling for our 21 month old DS with cycle number 3. We've done a fully stim cycle in 2008 which gave us success with two embies (one fresh and one frozen) so I guess this fresh stim cycle will be try no. 3. I think I will be jabbing myself early next week, scared but a bit excited too.
Lets hope 2012 is good to us all!
Hi Mia, bring on the AF!

Hi all,
Just joining this thread too - I've been TTC for 18 months +, PCOS, one blocked fallopian tube and severe endo. Lap and D&C back in Sept 11. Been on zoladex the last three months. Starting IVF this month.
Had my nurse appointment today. She was lovely and it went really well. We picked up our cooler of meds and I start jabbing on 13th! Woo hoo. I am actually too scared of the needles to jab myself so DH has offered to it.
So looks like EPU will be late jan and ET early feb. Fingers crossed for a sticky one and that the side effects of the meds in the mean time aren't too bad.
Oh, can I ask for some advice, for those of you who have done this before, do you typically take extra time off work and if so when?I have holiday time up my sleave but not sure if I should take it and / or when would be best to take it with my cycle.
Jane

Hi girls,
Just subbing for this thread as well. A few of you already know me but for tose of you that dont: We have male factor infertility (DH has a blockage and if they remove the blockage it will send him sterile). So they operated on him in Aug 10 and we have enough frozen sperm for 3 stim cycles. We have 1 embie still in storage from our last round but our FS said she would rather we did another stim incase it didnt survive the thaw.
I am starting on 250 Puregon and then will also go on to orgalutran. AF is due around 22 Jan so ill be starting my jabs around 25 Jan and expect egg pick up around 8-10 Feb.
Jane - Last time I took a few days off over the egg pick up (had 3 days off), im glad I did because it gave me a chnace to rest. TBH I wasnt in too much pain after I had it done, just mild period pain type cramps. I had the day of the ET off and went back to work the next day. This time I am going to take the day after ET off as well, mine was particularly painful last time, so much so that I was bawling my eyes out.
I have just changed from full time to part time at work and I am now only doing 3 days per week so im hoping that my egg pick up etc fall on my days off. I work in an office with 9 people and they all know we are doing IVF, my boss (a guy) is very supportive as his fiance went through IVF with her previous husband so he knows a lot about it from her. He has basically told me to take as much time off as I need and to just swap my days around to work with my cycle.

Thanks Amy, I might take a week off around egg picke up time and just a day or to around transfer.
-
Yay I think I found the right sticky thread that I should be chatting in lol
-
I just read the other thread and thought.... hmmm... I need to show her how to get here ;-) was considering PMing you, but obviously I don't need to anymore :-)
welcome! glad you found us :-)
-
Jane, I only had a day off after the egg pick up so I could rest up, but I actually took 3 or so days off after embie transfer so I could just veg on the couch and give the embie the best chance to attach. This has worked for me both times I had the embie transfer, so that's what I'm going to do this time. I am a SAHM now anyway so that's not an issue, but I don't know how much rest on the couch I will have with a toddler running around! lol. GL in your cycle hun.
GL to us all ladies!
