Thanks for making me feel welcome. I have tried to have a read and work out where everyone is up to, so please forgive me if I get details mixed up or forget somebody.
Hannahfroodoo - hi. I am on pill 5 tonight, 50mg as well. I haven't noticed many side affects that I can definitely put down to the clomid, although I am waking at night feeling a bit hot, but with the change of seasons I am not sure whether it is a hot flush or not. I'm not getting any during the day. I am having a b/t tomorrow. What about you - are having b/t and scans as well?
Keli - best of luck with your 12 week scan. I hope everything goes well for you.
Hope - hi Hope everything goes well for you on Thursday. And I didn't watch Sunday Night. I am avoiding anything like that at the moment. It just opens up too many recent memories for me and I feel much better not spending so much time crying. I am such a softie even Happy Feet made me cry! So try to be careful about what TV and movies I watch. It's a shame though because I am sure it would have been very interesting.
Porsche - FX that #8 is your lucky number! And how about those twins. I used to be worried about twins and was scared that I couldn't cope but now that I am so impatient to be pg, I would be happy with twins, of course that is until the reality of the increased risk set in. Still, I dream of having twin girls. I even have names for them!
Hi to everyone else.
AFM, last pill tonight. I am a bit worried about the side effect of clomid on CM. So I thought I would ask an expert panel. Have you noticed a change in your CM - I have problems in the CM department, especially the later in the cycle that I O - so I am wondering whether I should be taking evening primrose oil (I think that helps with quantity) and Robitussin to help with thinning the CM. My research told me that the clomid may thicken CM and make it 'hostile' to sperm, and apparently Robitussin helps with that. Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea or not? I would love any advice if anyone has tried either of these before.
Anyway, gotta go and clean up the kitchen before dinner. We had roast last night and all of the clean dishes still need to be put away.
Take care all
oxo
I find that my cm dries up. I had been using pre seed to help create a more natural environment for our swimmers. I have heard the robitussin thing but no i haven't tried it. I think you can use any cough mixture that isn't a antihistamine. Just do a google search for the info as that is how I found it.
I would love to have twins but I don't think it would happen lol.
Hi girls,
Porsche- TWins! I would love twins! They are also on both sides of my family. Maybe we can both have twins (wishful thinking!) As for testing: I haven't decided what to do yet, although I think it will be a BFN this month anyway. No symptoms whatsoever! I am getting a BT friday (I should be between 10-12 DPO) and see what that says. Being the first month of this new stuff, I'm not sure what to expect AF wise.
Chez- the CM thing is the biggest pain about clomid. I haven't had any trouble with the hostile environment thing, but lack of CM can make DTD a bit painful I find. Preseed is the way to go as Porsche said. Try the EPO I've heard that works wonders.
Keli- GL with the 12 week scan. I am so excited for you! Let us know how it all goes.
Hannahfroodoo- I hope that the clomid works wonders on your cycle and makes everything normal for you. I too have had issues with early miscarriage, and I know the heartbreak, so I really hope it has good results for you this time round.
Hope- GL for scan on Thursday! I hope there is some good follie growth for you love!
Liz- I know all about 'clomid meltdowns' or 'demon b***ch from hell meltdown' as DH lovingly refers to them as!!! It's like have PMS for the whole month isn't it? I can almost track my cycle through my heightened emotions: Anger, Anxiety, Exaustion & Finally...Teary. I feel like the seven dwarves of clomid! I hope you are feeling better hon!
Rhi- how'd the lap go? Hope you're ok.
AFM: I'm feeling a little down at the moment (I am in my teary stage anyway). I need to ring and cancel my OB appointment which would have been on Thursday. I just can't bring myself to do it. It's like letting go of that last string of what might have been. The date has been looming for a while and I know I should have done it straight away, but... and now I think it's worse.
Sorry for the downer guys, I just needed to tell someone I am NOT ok at the moment as much as I try to be. Thanks
Ohh Bec I'm sending a bit hug your way. It is totally fine to be down at the moment. It's hard to be strong all the time. Can you get your DH to cancell the appointment? That way you don't have to do it?
Rhichichi I hope your recovering ok and it's not too painful.
Hope I'm praying you have sone big plump follies ready and waiting.
hannahfroodoo: Yep, I have the cd12 scans every cycle on Clomid. I see a private OB so he does it all in his rooms which is great. If there are any good follicles on the day I than have 10000i.u of pregnyl (injection). To my understanding, that brings on ovulation for timed BD (sorry TMI). GL on your clomid journey, I hope it is a short one for you. I'm crossing everything for you also.
Bec: It is totally understandable that you are going through the teary stage. It's such a hard time to go through and your emotions go up and down through it all. I remember having to ring the hospital and cancel my booking for my labour with my first pregnancy. The OB told me to book in to the hospital straight away when I first seen him with the pregnancy. Having to ring and cancel was one of the hardest thing to do while going on such an emotional rollercoaster. I didnt bother booking with the second pregnancy, which ended up being the right decision in the end. I know that it is a hard thing to do, like porsche said, can DH ring and cancel the appointment for you so you dont have to deal with it? I'm thinking of you during this time and sending big hugs.
Chez67: GL with the remainder of you Clomid cycle. Fingers crossed for you.
Keli: GL with the 12wk scan. Cant wait to hear how it all went. Very exciting.
lol, the talk of twins makes me laugh. Does everyone go through the whole "Oooh, we could have twins or triplets, exciting" and than go through the whole "What if we fall with twins/triplets and something goes wrong?" I am also getting very impatient and just want DH and I to have a beautiful little bubby to bring home with us and think that twins is the answer (and a possibility on clomid) but than I get so worried that it could cause more problems. I really dont care if we have one bubba or two or three, I just hope that everything goes well and they live a happy/healthy life. I don't think I am emotionally equipped to handle what some people have to go through with their little premies, etc, etc. I long to feel pregnant, have symptoms, have morning sickness, have everything that all pregnant women complain about. I guess we all do. Well, I suppose, we just have to keep our heads held high and keep hoping/praying/wishing for that dream to come true. Wow, I am sorry, that turned into a rant that I wasn't expecting it to be. Bit glum wasn't it!!!
On that note, I am going to go.
Hello to everyone else in here. I hope you are all well and coping just fine.
I got my b/t results over the phone today from my FS - no numbers - she just said there had been no change after the 5 doses of 50mg clomid. She wants me to do 5 more starting tonight on 100mg. I have got a really bad headache and I had the worst night last night - woke up drenched in sweat! Has this happened to anyone else? Is it normal to do this, or should I just wait this cycle out, drug free, and move onto a new regime next cycle? I am worried that my side effects are going to double along with the dose! Oh and to make it more confusing for me, my TCM is dead against doubling the dose and starting tonight. She wants to wait and see what happens this cycle. She is worried that a higher dose could be bad for me and my ovaries.
I am so confused, I really don't know what I should do. Please help!
Didn't you only just take the last pill Chez? Most people have a BT CD21 or follie u/s every few days from about CD 10 or 11. I never o'd until day 21 at least so I reckon it's a bit early to tell, maybe it will take a while to work on such a low dose. Maybe ring the FS and ask why she think it's not going to work? GL hon.
Thanks everyone for your support. I got the courage up today and rang and cried a bit when the receptionist asked if I wanted to book another appointment, but she was lovely. Thanks for the hugs Porsche and Hope, I feel much better today.
