Bec and Saf - yes clomid is similar to clomid. I believe though it is slightly different because it only produces one egg.
I will let you know how I go with any side effects.

Thank you so much.i notice after i got off my period i still have some muscus .Is that normal too being on the clomid. When i took it last mouth i didnt have that much mucus after my period,i was on 50 mg last month and now this month im on 100mg and getting alot more side affect then when i was on 50 mg. linda:
Yes im taking the pill form of clomid ,my headache did go away but i had it for 2 days.Crazy side affect.I start testing in 2 days ovualtion kit.Wish me luck!!! Linda:

good luck with the ovulation tests, they are great I find as it gives you a better idea of whats going on. Glad the headache is gone. I am going to start my ovulation tests soon as I ovulate usually around day 11 or so, once I was day 9, so I have to get in early.
Hopefully we will both get good news in a few weeks!
I really really want this to work this month, it feels like I will never get pregnant.

Whats the HTE tablets?,also i was wondering what that medicine is that everyone is taking called Metformin.I havent heared of that and my doctor just put me on Clomid and said i had a un explained infetility.. thanks Linda:

Im on metformin for two reasons, ive got high insulin and also to get my periods regular and to try and keep me regular. I started to take it in december 2008 i think and it worked for me i fell preg in feb 2009 . But after i m/c that one it keept me regular but no luck with falling preg again.
Hope this gives you some understanding, but im sure people are on it for different reasons.
Mez - I so hope the lap is the answer cos I am getting a bit frustrated!
Bec - I think I confused you?! (sorry) - I went last Monday to the FS & he booked me in for a lap on the 25th May. Don't need to go back and see him prior to the lap, probably just after to discuss his findings??
Ahurani - I get a weird like burning sensation in my lower abdomen leading up to/near O which I assume is related to Clomid?
OG - Unfortunately for me I still experience hot flushes, insomnia & headaches after O. I assume this would be because Clomid would still be in my system? - I have heard it can take two or so months for it to leave your system....
Linda - I think the dosage would relate to your side effects getting worse....
My GP thought I would need Metformin but a glucose test showed all was OK - I am not insulin resistant so it would be of no benefit for me to be on it. Usually if you are diagnosed with PCOS & are insulin resistant you would be prescribed Metformin.

I'm not on metformin, but my understanding is that it's a treatment for high insulin caused by PCOS? My friend takes it for that anyway.

Today I am 5 weeks and levels are good so it's a sticky one for now! Looks like the polypectomy did the trick and my uterus is fertile again. DH and I are super excited. Sorry I've been moping around a bit, I was very worried that this one wouldn't hold and you guys have been such a great support and positive vibe for me. Thank you all so much!

i had my second scan today and still my left ovary is MIA... but my uterus lining is definatly thickening so doc thinks lefty must be working where ever it is. i will have a progesterone blood test on monday.

I am new to this thread and fairly new to BB. Just thought I would pop in and say a big Hi.
My DH and I have been TTC since May 07. We have had 2 M/C in that time :cry:
Last cycle I started on 50mg Clomid and 10000i.u Pregnyl but no luck. This cycle I started on 100mg Clomid and have to wait until Thurs to have a scan to see what Pregnyl to have (if there is any good follicles). I was so disappointed when AF came this cycle. I am now at CD9. I had a blood test on day 21 last cycle (progesterone) and it said 30.9. OB said he's prefer to see it around the 35 mark.
Fingers crossed for this cycle.
GL to all of you who have had BFP, that is great news. It gives you a bit more hope.

Hope-Welcome, I hope you love being on BB like i do, it is great to have so many supportive people around you. So sorry to hear you have had 2 losses, I really hope you ( and the rest of us) can move out of this thread rapidly and get a BFP under our belt ASAP! This is my second month of clomid and I have heard a lot of people have success with it, hope so for you xx

Linda- like the others said I think metformin is for insulin resistance and used mainly by people with PCOS. Hope those symptoms are under control x

AFM- well it had to happen, the psycho came out in me last night :redface:, I knew it was only a matter of time. Whenever i am on hormonal meds ( like the pill) i always end up a crying mess after a few months, thought I was doing well with clomid but had a big meltdown last night over the fact I didn't cook potatos properly for tea- WTF who gives a sh*t! All i can say is poor DH, he never knows what to say. I hope it is a fleeting mood swing but have been v teary today ( am sleep deprived after nightshift tho). The things we go through!!!

thanks OG. My left ovary could never be found during scans without a very patient radiographer and a far bit of pain! It's still worked though, so maybe it's hiding some good news for you?

I have PCOS and have been on clomid for 2 1/2 yrs (with a 4 mth break due mc), i have just start my 2nd round 150mg of clomid.... :wall: experiencing alot pain and discomfort this time around

It looks like I'm on my way back here with you guys. My HCG level only went up from 65 to 71 in 4 days so things aren't good. I am...devastated. I'll admit it. I'm trying to hold it together until DS goes to bed. Back to the DR tomorrow to see what's happening.

Sorry to hear about your side affects on clomid.I have only been on the clomid for 2 months.My doctor up the dose to 100mg.I notice that i got alot of hot flashes more and headache.No pains or anything.Are you talking about pains around ovulation time or differents pains from the medicine.Maybe you should talk to your doctor about the pains.Hope you feel better! :bluedust:: linda:

TryingTo- welcome hon, I haven't heard of anyone on clomid for that long! Personally I find the sideeffects a bit much so I will move onto something else soon if this doesn't work. Ithink the weight is a symptom of PCOS? Does your doctor have a plan for what you are going to do next? I hope this clomid works for you, the dose is high, no wonder you have side effects! AFM-CD10 today, got a positive OPK yesterday- so early! so we :bd: yesterday and today but its ridiculous, who knows whats going on, I don't get any EWCM since being on the clomid.

I'm thinking of you today Bec. I understand about the crying all night. I did that as well. DH just held me when I cried. But I have to pull myself together.
I've been struggling for a bit. So for my own health I've kept away from replying to forums. But I couldn't not help but reply to yours.
Saffy - I'm not so bad today. I feel like why are we even bothering anymore this is all just way too hard.
We had my post op appointment yesterday and my cervix is now closed. I'm still spotting brown which is really annoying me. FS said possibly some more antibiotics to get rid of any tissue left. Not that she can see if there is def any tissue left. But we decided to leave it for the next few days and see how we go. She believes that it will settle down in the next few days but if it doesn't then she'll send me for a formal scan and go from there. Either way I have to give her a call on Tuesday and then more ruddy waiting.
As for your Oing early and EWCM. I found that if I went for a walk in the afternoon and checked after that I usually had some EWCM. I don't get copious amounts but enough to tell. Well that was the last 2 cycles who knows when or if it will happen next time.
I guess it is possible to O earlier but I thought the earliest was CD14?
Oh Porsche, it is depressing isn't it? So hard to pull yourself up and keep going....I guess we have to look to the future and focus on the final outcome, otherwise it just seems pointless.:hug:
Both of my pregnancies have definately been conceived on CD11, so you can realistically o at any time, its the length after ovulating that is always the same. I know someone who got pregnant after 'O'ing on CD6! I double checked with an OPK today and defiantley positive so nothing to do but :bd: and :pray: Normally off clomid I have heaps of EWCM so its annoying to not have that sign, but will check later (can't go for a walk now its pouring here!!)
I hope your spotting settles down ASAP and you don't need to get a scan,ab's etc., try and hang in there it will get better eventually xx

Hi Trying to & welcome. Do you know if you are insulin dependent with your PCOS? If you are they will usually prescribe Metformin which can help aid weight loss - perhaps this is something that can be spoken to with your FS? I have only been on Clomid for 6 mths & at 50mg. It shows that I am Oing but no pg yet. Can they consider putting you on Femara? - I believe the side effects are lesser.
Saffy - GL with the DTD! I hope you catch that egg.
Porsche - I wish there was something I could say that would make you feel better, but I know that there is nothing. But what I do want to say is that we are here for you - even if you just want to post a AFM/vent.

HCG has dropped so m/c is impending. Scan showed nothing in uterus so things may have been reabsorbed already. I'll see specialist tomorrow and see what next step is, whether I stay on clomid or move on to something else. I don't know right now whether I can do all of this again.

Well my spotting dissapeared yesterday so FX it stays away.
I've been temping again and my temps are pretty low. FF has put me down to O between the 1st & 7th May so that would mean AF should be due around the 16th May. Not sure if that will happen because of the M/C and also my PCOS.
So I thought i'd start doing my OPK's tonight and see if we get a + any time soon.
Well we'll see what happens.

Hi everyone else! Many of you must just about be TWWing by now. How's it going?
AFM: We had only told our parents and my sisters about the pregnancy, and last night I had to let them all know there wasn't one any more. My mother in law and step mum were devastated, which set me off again. If I get pregnant again I wont tell them untill 12 weeks, it's not fair to put them through that again.
I have thrown myself into researching what went wrong. I didn't know that the m/c rate in women with PCOS is possibly as high as 45%! How did the dr not tell me that? I have found that women who take metformin have a much lower chance of m/c (normal level), so I'm going to ask my specialist about that. It can take a few months to reduce the insulin levels and problems with ovaries, but I couldn't try again straight away anyway. Who else is on metformin? Is it terrible expensive? I'm not taking clomid again untill I get this resolved becasue obviously there is some underlying thing going on.
I'm so sorry for the long rant all about ME. I just had to get it off my chest.

Hello Everyone
Just thought I would give a quick update. I had my CD12 scan (on cd11) yesterday and my right ovary has produced approximately 6 follicles. 4 of those are top notch good to go. I had my 10000 i.u. Pregnyl injection yesterday and was told to BD 36 hours after that. Has anyone else here had the same sort of treatment? My doc wasnt too clear on all the details for conception. :crossfingers: majorly.

RhiChiChi - Thankyou. I really hope the higher dosage brings more luck also.
Trying To - Sorry to hear of your m/c. This is only my second cycle of Clomid but I tend to get alot of hot flushes and bad lower back pain. The pain heightens at ovulation. Hang in there, FX for you that something will happen soon. I know one of the symptoms of clomid is bloating.
Bec - I am so terribly sorry to hear about your loss. It makes me sad to hear what you are currently going through. Don't apologise for your "rant", it helps to let it all out. Only you will know when your ready to move to the next step. Thinking and praying for you also. :comfort:

I was very interested in your research about PCOS & M/C. Does that include a blighted ovum? It seemed in my case that everything was doing fine but the baby didn't develop. Something about too many chromazomes or something? I think I might ask the FS on Tuesday when I call.

i have been on metformin for about 18 months - 2 years. When i first got preg i stopped taking it because i was unsure if i should take it or not (didnt see the dr for 2 weeks) in the time i had stopped i did m/c, dont know if it was caused by the not taking metformin or because when i found out i was in emergency and had x-rays and scans and morphine. But i do think taking it in the first place had everything to do with me getting preg.
As for cos it is about $10 or less $5 concession for the less expensive brand (diaformin) and you get about 50 tabs i think.
The only prob i have with it is if i dont take it with food i i get an upset tummy and end up on the toilet lots.
Bec- I'm so so sorry, you bought a tear to my eye when I read about telling your family, it must have been difficult :comfort:
I don't know anything much about PCOS, but I hope your Dr does all the investigations necessary and you get an answer soon x
Porsche- I had a blighted ovum too, I don't think its related to PCOS, its just a chromosomal problem in the egg which is more common the older you get and its unusual to have it happen more than once. Glad spotting has stopped for you. I took your advice and I got some EWCM yesterday!
Hope- sounds like a good result, hope you are getting jiggy with it soon! AFM is "as for me" when you want to talk about yourself!
