Oh Mez, Phew! Thanks so much for the honest reply, I know how much courage that must have taken as it has taken me months to post anything about this also. Glad to know we’re never along (no matter how bizarre our issue may be). Yes I find the same thing, when we are both relaxed and taking it slowly then DTD comes so much easier, but when we’re both stressed and know that performing is very important that’s when the brick wall goes up. Thanks for being so open and sharing this with me. Might have to have a look into the Karma sutra, whatever works I say.

As for maybe baby I think I will just stick with what I’m doing, it’s confusing enough sometimes, and yeah $80 is a bit pricy too, especially if you’re not too sure that it even helped.

On a separate note, did you say you are teaching Pre-natal yoga in Glen Waverly?

    Hi Keli

I'm glad my sharing helped - you are certainly not alone in having to face those issues. The book I got from Borders is called 'Tantric Sex: the path to sexual bliss' by Kavida Rei. I doubt DH will ever read it, but he seems happy for me to make some of the book's suggestions!

I'm currently teaching prenatal yoga in Prahran and South Yarra. This month I'm focussing on some marketing work so more people know about them. I've had some flyers printed so my job over Easter is to get them out there! I figure I won't be able to teach my normal yoga classes soon enough, so I need to focus on the prenatal ones!

Do you know if you are in your 2WW yet or still unsure if you've O'd?

Hey Mez, Thanks for the info on the book, I might head down to the bookstore and have a look myself also, yes don’t think I have any luck with DH reading it but he is always up for new suggestions when I make them so might be a good idea.

Yeah so I’m still not sure if I’ve O’d, will just continue to DTD for a bit longer I’m thinking until I can be sure, don’t know how I plan on being sure but anyway, ha ha!

    Hey all,

Keli - In relation to the Maybe Baby - I tried it too, but it just showed ferns all the time for me, which is an indication of high estrogen - so therefore I wasn't Oing which was confirmed via progesterone test and hence the need for Clomid. I think it is a good tool if you have regular cycles & O with no issue but for me it was no good. Also in relation to DTD, yep my DH has had issues 'coming' , usually if he is tired or more b/c we have to DTD. That is why we are going by the OPK's, not DTD every second day like the last 5 cycles on Clomid.

Mez - Thanks for the book details - might have to look into it. DH & I are thinking of staying in the City one night, which I'll try to make it around O time, so hopefully that will help too.

Claudette - I tried taking my temp prior to Clomid and b/c I wasn't Oing at all it really was confusing and messed with my head (I didn't know I wasn't Oing at the time), so I have just stuck with DTD every second day for the past 5 cycles on Clomid, which we haven't had any success with, so I have bought OPK's and will be using them this cycle. DH & I are over the DTD every second night from CD 10 to 21. I am hoping this will pinpoint for sure when I am Oing as I only know that it is sometime between those days, most probably on CD 14/15 but don't know for sure. It can be such hard work & so confusing at times!

I just wanted to share something with you that my GF told me. She is going to be starting IUI next cycle & the nurse at the FS office told her to have a diet high in iodised salt. Not 100% sure why but it is something the nurse really stressed to her. Also the FS told her DH to take Menevit (the mens version of Elevit)....

Claudette- I find all the OPK's tempinf, maybe baby, checkinf for changes in CM etc, all a bit bamboozling. Mind you, if someone told me that a slide rule and a bag of M&M's were the trick, I'd probably try that too! lol

Kel & Mez- I'm really glad someone brought that topic up! We were DTD every day for a about 10 days each cycle, but it was too much pressure and it was painful for both of us. I guess becasue we all feel like it's a task we have to do to get pregnant, the enjoyment and passion goes out of it after a few days! I might just pop out and find that book, Mez, we're coming up for o sometime over easter...

Julia- I wonder why the iodised salt? I'm going to google that. DH and I also use my predicted o times, and my own obs, before we start DTD ever night. We've pretty much got it narrowed down to 3 nights now, and that's more manageable for us! GL this cycle, looks like you, me and Keli will be TWWing together again!

    Bye for now!

Hey Julia, Thanks for the info on Maybe Baby, yeah think I will just stick with what I am doing as that “seems” to be working most of the time. As for DH having performance issue, thanks for sharing, it’s really good to know we’re not alone in all of this. I was really dreading sending my first post of the day this morning and I have had such a great response from you all that I am now feeling soooo much better and feel that I can tell you ladies anything. So thank you. Also thanks for the info on the iodised salt, do tell more when you know more but in the mean time I will look into it myself. And yes I too have been looking at Menevit for DH, not sure how he’d feel about it but if they think it works we might have to give it a go.

Hey Bec, thank you to you too for sharing your thoughts about the issues with our DH’s. Poor things, I think the pressure really gets to them sometimes, more than we think too. I really appreciate your honesty and input into this topic, I am feeling much better about it just knowing we are not along. GL over Easter.

AFM: Well have done another OPK today and finally I have a +ive, so I’m thinking that I haven’t O’d yet but will do over the next few days, back to DTD then, woo hoo.

GL to everyone coming into O time, yes Julia & Bec I think we are going to be 2WWing buddies this month.

I check out the iodised salt thing, and I'll I found out about it is that it can help with thyriod problems when pregnant and is often used to ensure that women don't become iodine deficient when pregnant.
Never heard that one before. Guess I'll try it along with my slide rule and M&M's...lol

    Night girls!

    Hey Ladies,

OK so I think I finally O’d last night. Got a +OPK yesterday and then had really bad O pains last night. We DTD (successfully) last night, yippee! So with any luck this will be our month, but we will DTD again tonight and maybe tomorrow night just to make sure, as my temp hasn’t gone up yet but that happened last month too, temp didn’t go up for 1 day or so. Anyway, fingers crossed.

Hey question, when you get O pain does that mean you are O’ing or that you are about to O? Does anyone know?

GL to everyone coming up to O time!

    Hi Keli

Yay for Oing!! My FX for you.

I have no idea about O pains. I used to get them for about 3 days so I'm not sure if it meant that I was O or I was about to or I had just finished lol.

    Hi ladies

Hope you are all well. Re iodised salt, the reason it is recommended we eat it is that our every day diet is quite low in iodine (something to do with not much iodine in the soil), so you only need a little iodised salt to help you along. I think most breads also use iodised salt in them now. Most nutritional supplements for women trying to conceive will have iodine in them.

As for the men, make sure they are taking adequate zinc supplements - very good for their spermies. My naturopath had DH on zinc, vit c, multi vitamin and fish oil. If you go to a naturopath they will be able to design a good preconception care supplement program for both of you. It's a good idea to get a blood test to check your vitamin levels etc...i just found out I'm low in iron so red meat is back on the menu (DH hated me being a vegetarian so he's very happy now!)

As for O pains Keli - I used to get O pains for 24 hours just before my temp would increase. Like you, I was always unsure whether they meant I had ovulated or was about to, so we just tried to DTD as soon as I felt the pains...

Rhi - good idea to spend a night in the city...ramp up the romance and you never know....

Good luck to the girls coming up to O time or entering the 2ww....let's hope the Easter Bunny brings more than chocolate this Easter!

    Morning all,

Porsche, Tammara & Mez, thanks ladies for all your positive thoughts for me, hopefully this will be my month and I can join you lovely ladies in the UTD club, woo hoo!

Mez, thanks heaps for the info on the salt. Yes my hubby was on zinc last year when we were seeing the Naturopath, can we just buy zinc from the chemist do you know?

So O pains have stopped and temp has begun in accent, yey! So almost positive now that I have O’d. On with my 2WW now I guess. Has anyone else O’d yet? If not GL coming up to it girls, fingers crossed this is a BIG month for BFP’s!

Also just for information, I have been checking my cervix this month and am pretty sure that it was high and smooth (not sure about being open) when I O’d, so quite happy with myself that I could teach myself how to do that over the net. I recommend it to anyone else that is not grossed out by it and is looking for another way to know when they O.

Fingers crossed for everyone that our bub’s are just around the corner for us all!

Happy for you all to check out my chart and comment, just dont want to post my username and password on this site for all to see.
Porsche, not nosey at all, that's what it's there for. I found looking at your very helpful in the past to see the similarities.

    HI Again

You shouldn't need to give out your user name & pass word so we can all look. You'll need to add your particular link and we should just click it and it shows your chart only.

You'll need to do the folowing.

Menu on left hand side look for "Sharing" then click on "Home page set up".

It has a "Your Charting Home Page Web Address:" right at the top and underneath that title will be your personal web address for your chart. You'll need to copy and paste that address in your signature. That way it's safer for you for us to have a look.

    Hi Keli

Ok that's the address but the link isn't working but that's ok I cut and pasted your web address into my browser and I can see your chart just fine.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of days. You've had quite a big temp rise today but you've also had a + OPK. I would have thought you O'd yesterday but I would have thought you would have had a - OPK today. Were there any differences while you were sleeping? Were you hot? Did you have a consistent 3 hours sleep? They can affect your temp. But I'm very interested to see what happens.

PS just so you know I didn't use your login details.
