Pumpgirl - Sorry to hear about the fight on the weekend. I know exactly how you feel. Our group of friends has been brought together mainly by the boys and us girls just got thrown together. Now I have made some great friendships out of this but I am also not as close to some of the other girls. DH needs to realise that it isn't just a hen's night out that you don't want to go to, but a whole weekend in another city with people you don't know very well. Add to that the hormone rollercoaster you are currently on adn it could end in disaster, maybe he needs to see it might be safer to avoid uncomfortable situations. I was also wondering if you back off on your exercise intensity during your TWW? As a fellow fitness professional I am curious? Hope everything sorts itself out and you get a BFP so you don't have to deal with Clomid moods.
Epayne - Interesting info about the males. Sneaky how the symptoms are all the things that aren't really out of the ordinary for blokes. Hope you had a great weekend and that the every 2nd day system works for you this month. We work on the same system which is easier to achieve in winter when DH isn't out baleing hay at night. GL with getting your BFP this cycle.
Porsche - Sorry to hear about the BFN, hopefully the IVF works and all the sniffing and jabbing will be worth it. FX'd (and toes) for a BFP soon.
Tammara and Mez Moz - It's great to hear about the positives in this whole process. Sometimes we all need reminding that we can get BFP out of this journey of drugs and mood swings. Hope the rest of your pregnancy's goes well and that bub reveals themselves soon Tammara (I am assuming that you do want to know).
Keli - I hope the MS eases up soon. I am hoping that I don't take after my mum on the pregnancy symptoms. She had MS with me for the whole pregnancy. Hopefully the dates are wrong and that DH prediction is very wrong. Although my midwife mother has always said that the bigger babies come out more easily, lol. My god son was 10 pound, and my friends now DH informed her that was normal for his family, as I told her you should find these things out before you get UTD, lol.
Miss Kris - Glad that you have finished your round of clomid. Look at the positive of the extra heat, at least it is winter ATM. GL on getting your BFP this cycle and hopefully the mood swings stay away for Wednesday.
Bec - Glad to hear that you had a lovely weekend away, pity you didn't O but at least you got a bit of "practice" in, lol. It's good that you got a chance to chat about the IVF option, hopefully you won't nered it. I am avoiding that discussion for a couple more months as I don't know whether DH will be on board. Will have to wait and see. Hope O happens soon for you. FX'd for your BFP!
Hope - Pity about the thrush, hopefully it clears up soon. Hope AF shows up soon so you don't have to worry about her showing up for your lap. Big Hug to you
RhiChiChi - How is being back at work going? Hope there hasn't been any stresses yet.
Sorry if I missed anyone. GL and FX'd to everyone for BFP soon.
AFM - Well AF finally arrived on Saturday, yay! Started my 1st round of clomid on Sunday and today I feel like I have been hit by a bus. Don't know if it is the clomid or the start of the flu but I am struggling. Only 7 1/2 more hours of work to go (I hate 10 1/2 hour days).
Shan- 10.5 hour shifts!!! What the?? You poor love! I often feel flu-y with clomid, don't worry it goes away in a few days (well mine did). Glad AF finally arrived and that you o and next AF is 9 months from now!!!
Mez- Lovely to hear from you! 20 weeks, oh my gosh, it doesn't seem like that long! Glad all is gong well for you!
Hope- I have had problems with reoccuring thrush, which has now dissapeared! My advice, sleep without any pants on, change towels every day, and (it's gross I know) try natural yoghurt 'down there'. The natural cultures neutralise the yeast and fix it all up. I've never done it, but my sister swears by it. It's also totally safe in pregnancy etc. I've also taken those tablets which balance out the good and bad bacterier.. I can't remember the name of them...inner health plus? They are at the chemist in a little fridge near the counter. Have you tried the caniston type thing? The cream and the pessaries for three days? If I get really bad, they always get rid of it. HTH, I know how frustrating it is, especially when you need to be DTD every second day! I'm pretty sure you can still have lap if you have AF, I think they prefer it to be as close to AF as possible becasue then there is no chance you could be UTD. Maybe ring the doc and check?
Tammara- Thanks so mcuh for the info about the safety net, I wondered how that worked. I just passed the safety net (from the D&C probably) and I got a lot more back than I was expected. So if we have to do IVF, at least that's one positive, well that and the chance for a baby of course!
Pumpgirl- How are you? Have things settled down?
Porsche- thanks for the IVF lingo training! I wondered about some fo those. EPU always confused me...Hope you're well!
Hi to all you girls we haven't seen in a while. Hope you're ok!
AFM: Nothing new really. I looked after my 3 nephews today, plus my DS, and I don't think I could have 4 kids. Two 7 year olds, a 3 year old and my 15 month old nephew were a handful! The baby is lovely though, although he's going through a biting phase and everytime I said 'no' he howled at me! I'm such a mean aunty apparently! I was good practise though, I'd forgotten about the world of changing nappies, highchairs and bottles! My sister deserves a medal I think!
I have to ring my old FS and get my medical records released so I can take them to my new doctor, and I'm a bit nervous about it. I don't know whether I just ring reception or whther I need to speak to the doctor, which I don't want to do. Has anyone ever had to get their medical records from anywhere? Any advice?
ANyway, I best be off, I've got to ring and get some quotes for concreting our backyard! Finally getting rid of the mudpatch which has been there since we built the house 4 years ago!
Bye
Bec
Well I just wanted to start off with a huge big hug and thank you to all of you for your support. I haven't responded but have been checking in to see how everyone is doing and I really really appreciate everything you have said and shared. I really enjoy (not the right word!! but can't think of anything suitable) reading about your stories and how you are going it makes me feel like I am not alone and having not shared my journey with many it helps to know that you guys are all out there in cyber land so thank you :-) xx
So many replies and I really really hope I don't miss anyone:
ShanShan - I am so pleased that AF came and you can start your clomid journey, I hope it is smooth sailing for you and I agree with Bec you do feel a little "off" for the first few days but that bit passes. As for the training - I backed off last month and I wish I didn't as I put on a bit of weight (although all gone now thanks to my normal diet and exercise) so this month going as usual although will back off cardio in the last week I think (last week I taught 6 Body Pump classes, plus I did 1 6km run and attended 2 Body Attack classes). This week will aim to do the same cardio although am only doing 5 body pump classes and next week I am only going to do 4 BP classes. But, please bare in mind that I don't work full-time (I am at home trying to set up a business) so can get lots of rest in between I don't think i would continue doing that many if I had to pull in a 10.5 hour day (you poor thing!!) I remember the days when I worked at Mac Bank and that was a standard day but I wasn't taking clomid so I really feel for you hun! Best of luck and I really hope you get the BFP on the first round!
Bec - so pleased you had a nice weekend away - bummer about the o though! I am also pleased you got to have that chat. When I went to the Hunter I had a similar type chat with my DH, I think being away from home really helps you to let your guard down and really be open with how you are feeling and so much gets resolved when you are in a relaxing environment, FX now you have had that chat you will not have to put it into action as you will get the BFP this month ;-) I also wondered how much more psycho can you go on IVF, I hope no worse than clomid otherwise if I go down that path I fear I will need to be institutionalised before I can have a baby.
Porsche - I also wish you the best of luck for IVF, it is such a tough time, I have seen three of my closest loved ones go through this, it seems like a really hard journey, FX for the BFP after the first round!
Miss Kris - I feel for you on the sleeping front I am the same don't sleep well at all, I hope your hormones are in tact and you didn't go off the ricta scale like me ;-) I was thinking about your positive messages and I am going to do the same (but put them in envelopes and read them when I am angry or down). I did find going into the dark room and putting P!nk on helped me the other day!!
Epayne - I am with you on the two day cycle (DTD), at least that is one thing to look forward to about this whole TTC thing, although I hate the structure of it all :-( ahhhh well!
Hope! - Thanks for your hugs and yes I am glad it doesn't last forever cos I would loath to be me if that was the case...
I hope I haven't missed anyone??? If I have thank you for your messages and thoughts! Also a huge congrats the the ladies who are expecting - I hope for easy sailing for you!!!
AFM - CD 10 today, no major mood swings since Saturday (god that was out of control). I am keeping steady and busy. I think my training & teaching is helping. Although from memory CD 11 last month was my killer day so lets hope for sanity tomorrow ;-) Also one question to those of you with PCOS does the OPK work - mine never worked said I was ovulating all the time (which clearly wasn't true). I read the pack and it said that it doesn't work for those of us fortunate to be blessed with PCOS - just wondering if it did work for anyone... I am approaching with the 2 day rule anyway so we don't miss out (hopefully).
Anyway lovelies - thanks again for all your support and concern (I can't believe how much I have grown to rely on this forum in such a short period of time).
just a quick question? How long after clomid did you girls find you O'd?
Its just yesterday i had pains in my ovaries and i OPK tested and there was a line but not a positive one ...
I am wondering if the OPKs don't work for me as i have done plenty before that were positive but i don't O ...
I don't have PCOS either. Mines classed as "Unexplained Infertility" ... aahh its a killer aint it ... not knowing! lol! Stupid doctors! :P jks
Miss Kris, GL testing for O, I did my tests at 2pm at work if that helps, was a little inconvenient but I work in an office with only 2 ladies so I just had a little box of my “Goodies” in the ladies so didn’t have to hind anything on my way to the toilet. Happy Birthday to your DH for today.
Hey Bec, any sign of O yet? All you ladies seem to be at a similar time in your cycle at the moment, that’s exciting. Hopefully I will get my wish of a massive influx of BFP’s. Wow 4 kids? You did well not to loose any of them. I’m pretty sure you can just call the receptionist for your medical records, you shouldn’t need to talk to the FS.
Tammara, that is a good side IVF, all those scan’s are expensive so that’s great that you get most of them back after all the money you have already spent. Hope bub cooperates for you and moves its legs, I think you’re having a girl though, not sure why but I just do.
Hope, yey for being booked in for your lap, next Friday that is so soon. GL hun. I have everything crossed that AF arrives very soon or very late for you, my AF arrived the day after my lap. Is there any chance you can call and see if they can fit you in any earlier? Maybe explain why? Poo to thrush, I am willing it away for you.
You’re all so sweet, sending me well wishes for the ms to go away, when in fact I am just praying that you all have ms within the next month (IYKWIM).
Mez, so nice to hear from you, wow 20weeks already, did you find out what you’re having? Or are you having a surprise? Glad to hear all is well hun.
ShanShan, glad to hear you’ve started Clomid, the waiting game is not fun. Fx fro you this month.
Pumpgirl, glad to hear you a feeling a little more normal, poor thing. Hopefully that was your one and only spit for the month. Yey for Pink helping you out. Yeah I had no drama using OPK’s, remember the lines have to be the same colour, not just visible. It’s really hard to tell the difference sometimes though.
