LT TTC & taking Clomid/Metformin #5

Bec, yep we are doing the same this cycle and if it doesn't work then we will be doing full IUI cycle next time. Yay for AF finally arriving and best of luck with the jabbing. Are you doing them or is DH going to do it for you?? I'm not sure if I will get DH to do them this time.

Porsche I'm sure everything will be fine with your scan, should only be a couple of weeks away now.

Well AFM AF has starting to slow down now and only having slight cramping which is good. I must say I have been a little moody yesturday and this morning, DH and I had a bit of an argument this morning, and both just needed to walk away and calm down. Am feeling better now, and DH said that he had thought over the last few days I was a little wierd, so I am thinking everything has finally caught up with me, oh well.

Bec - i wouldnt risk it, it probably wont do anything to affect it but i personally dont think it is worth the risk. Maybe call the chemist or if you have an after hours number to call and just check.

Not long at all to go for me - 4 weeks tomorrow and im deffinately feeling 36 weeks preg (not that im complaining) just getting to the uncomfotable stage i think.

Hope everyone is well. Think that we really need a BFP soon, I think that we could all use the motivation right now!

Well I am just waiting for AF. I am technically day 29 today, but as I don't know when or if I even ovulated, I can't say where I am up to!? I of course couldn't help myself and have done about a thousand pregnancy tests, but all negative, so really I have no idea whether AF is on her way, I am UTD but too early for a BFP or I am still waiting to ovulate!? *sigh*

I am on my second round of Clomid and dont think I can do another month. I have been basically bedbound with agonizing back pain, due to the relaxing of the pelvis muscles. All fingers are crossed for this month. I am CD10 today and looking at possibly a whole 2 weeks of Bding to make sure. I have charted everything right down to the last second this month, simply because the pain of more clomid is too much.

Not that it will happen (positive thoughts) but I was wondering, what else is being used out there? If I was to have to go on something else?

Also I am going for my first ultrasound this week... can anyone tell me what that is about? Follicle size??? Whats a good size??? I have no idea what all this is.

Bec - Yay on AF arriving. I agree ith Tammara with the gonal and puregon. I wouldn't take it unless I had spoken to a nurse or FS. I still have a purgon carteidge hedre unopened from my cycle but I can't return it as they can't guarentee it has been stored right so it seems a waste to me.

Epayne - I'm glad AF has settled down now. She's a horror at the best of times.

Wannababymumma - I think a BFP is due in here as well.

Tammara - I can't believe it's almost time. It's a bit sad for me as well. My EDD is fast approaching and I'm trying not to think about it.

Lady_Tess - The next thing to try would be FSH injections and possibly timed intercousre or IUI after clomid. You have to move to more agressive treatments. I can't help with follie sizes I never had scans to check them whilst on clomid.

AFM - 2 weeks till our 13 week scan. DH flies out tomorrow so MIL will come to the scan with me. M/S is stil around but has eaased off a little over the last 2 days. I last threw up on Saturday so I'm averaging 1-3 times a week lol. I'm a little over it now.

Hi Lady_Tess: as Porsche said FSH injections is the next step. Do you know whether you have ovulated on Clomid? I've not heard of such severe pain before. I had a lot of trouble my first round of clomid with nausea and cramps and migraines, but it calmed right down after round two so you might be ok. A lot of the other girls have said that the symptoms calm down after the first round too. Unfortunately the best laid plans of charting, timing, knowing exactly when ovulate still don't guarantee anything (I know what you mean about charting everything, I used to do it too!) I don't mean that it won't help, but I know I used to beat myself up when AF arrived thinking "what else could I possibly have done?" We just have to do all we can to help things along and the rest is up to fate I guess. I hope that doesn't sound too preachy, I can just so sympathise with how you are feeling. BTW 16-18mm is the size they generally want follies before ovulation. Are you having pregnyl shot to induce ovulation or they letting you ovulate on your own (both are normal)? GL with the scan, I hope you have some nice big juicy follies!

Porsche: I'm so excited for you! I know you must have been waiting with baited breath for 11 weeks to roll around. Bugger that DH is out of town for your scan, but I'll bet your MIL is excited to get to come. I know what you mean about Tammara's due date rolling aorund being hard on you. I reckon it's absolutely fair to still feel a bit jibbed about last time, even though you now have another beautiful soul growing in your tummy. hugs for you for when that date rolls around.

Tammara: 4 weeks! WOW! Have you got your names sorted out? THat was my biggest stress with DS and we knew what we were having! GL with the birth, I realy hope it's short sweet and stitch free for you!

Liz: Hope you're feeling better.

WBM: I know what you mean about that rollercoaster. I can never just trust a BFN untill AF arrives, and even after that sometimes! I hope it was too early, and you have a BFP on the way.

AFM: Well CD3 today and jabbing began! I decided to just use the puregon (thanks for the advice girls) so I was a day late in starting. I'm due to go for a scan late this week, but things NEVER happen quickly for me, so I'm assuming it will be next week till I see anything. Remember I said ages ago that a psychic told me I would have a Cancerian baby next? Well, if I fall pg this cycle, the baby would be due early to mid July...middle of Cancer starsign! I hope it's this month!

Yes bec we have had names for ages now - our boy name Dylan i chose before we even got pregnant and maddison we chose a couple of months after we got preg. So she is maddison sheree. Im hoping for a short sweet stitch free birth also but seeing as she is in the top 90% size im thinking there might be some stitches.

quick question to those of you who have had puregon...I just picked mine up and I got the needles and the cartridge but no pen! should the pen have come with it? Or do you have to get that seperately? So I took the Gonal f and I'll just have to fill the script I had left over from the last FS! Oh the dramas!

Oh Bec - The pen should have come with the first script. I was given mine at my FS office I didn't need to fill a script. Ring your clinic and ask just to double check. I wouldn't worry about missing a day I was injecting air in my first week of jabbing lol. They'll up the dose if it's not working lol. Good Luck!

Tammara - Maddison is on my list as well but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lily. It will be Lily Judith Kay for a girl. DH has Hudson picked out for a boy and he just won't budge. Hudson Donald for a boy. I still need some convincing. Any thoughts ladies I could really need some convincing on Hudson lol.

Sorry, it's been over a week since I posted. Just busy with work and life...my usual excuse!

I haven't got time for thorough persies - sorry! - DD is in the bath and I need to keep an eye on her to make sure she is actually washing herself rather than just playing.

I did want to say to Lady_Tess that it's not just follicle size they will be looking at but also thickness of endometrium (uterine lining). From memory it should be about 10mm to be viable for implantation. Sorry to hear you are having issues with the clomid but, like everyone else, I recommend you stick with it because the side effects disappear after the first round (well, they did for me!)

Bec - good luck with your jabbing. I dont think you need to worry about taking the last of your gonal f - I am pretty sure it and the puregon are pretty much the same thing.

WBM - how are you going?? I was thinking this might be your month....Especially given the pink CM. Fingers crossed :)

Epayne...hope AF is on her way out and you are gearing up for the big O in a week or so. Sorry to hear it was so painful :(

AFM - CD15. I have a scan tomorrow to check follicle size, etc. My usual FS is away so it will be interesting to see what her replacement says/does. I might take the opportunity to sneak in a second opinion on whether I should do another clomid round (this is meant to be my last). It HAS to work this month....IT HAS TO!!!!!

POrsche- I love hudson! Lily was my girl pick when we had DS but since then I taught a thoroughly annoying Lily so it's off my list! beautiful name though. I love maddison too both very pretty. We've got Scarlett Katherine or Finn or Archer if we have another one, I love baby names!

I will ring my FS about the pen and see what she says, but I've got enough Gonal f for this round so I'll just go with that. I started jabbing yesterday and I've found I have been really sore and bloated today. Is that normal? CAn't be OHSS yet, so I don't know why it's happening! Yet another bizzaare symptom to add to the list!

Wow it looks like everyone has been busy.

Bec I'm not to sure about the difference between the 2 but I am sure they are just different brands. When I got my gonal f injections in the box it had the pen (with stuff in it) and the needle sticks to put on the pen. So not sure why you weren't given the pen as well. Oh and I so hope that your right about th July baby, will have everything crossed for you.

Tammara that is so exciting only 4 weeks to go. yay!!

N2L GL with your appointment, and yeah it would be interesting to see what the replacement is like, I don't think that my FS has a replacement, last time he went on holidays we had to put off moving onto the next step until he was back.

Porsche wow, only 2 weeks until you get to see your bub again. Keep thinking positive thoughts about holding your baby in the next 29 weeks. :)

Hi to anyone else I know I have missed a few of you, hoping you are all travelling well.

Well, AF finally finished and I am off to the FS tomorrow to start jabbing for the 3rd round. Oh I thought that I have been going well with the clomid dosage until this cycle. I have been easily anoyed and snapping at just about anything that is even only slightly anoying :wall: I sort of didn't realise it till DH asked me last night again what dosage I was on and when I asked why he just looked and said that I have been quite moody that last few days.
I did have a little pick me up this afternoon, I had a long chat with my sister last wed about everything and I recieved a package in the mail from her (chocies and a card), I think it was just what I needed and in 15 days I will be seeing her, BIL and my little nephew. It was quite funny talking to her she asked if I would be finished the injections, well yeah we should be, but hey my body doesn't always do what it is supposed to. I said, well if not then we will be sleeping in the shed out back instead of my folks then won't we :lol:
On the names topic DH have sort of decided on the names we like for a girl Eden Lily and for a boy Christian John. Oh and Porsche Hudson is a lovely name.

Looking forward to some more BFP's on here, just think we all need a pick-me-up.

OK so on the names subject, we don’t think we are going to have middles names, I don’t have one and DH kind of likes that. Also DH and I both lost our fathers within the past 3 years so would be hard to choose one and we don’t want to give bubs 2 middle names. So we’re thinking Oscar for a boy and Olive for a girl (no weird spelling), what’s everyone’s thoughts?

keli - Nice to hear from you. You must be getting close?? Yes the middle names are family members. Judith is MIL (al though she hates it and is called Judy), Kay is my Mum and Donald is FIL. My Mum hasn't had a grand child named after her so I said to DH that we really should have Kay as a middle name as well. So I said Lily Judith Kay and we both agreed. Just have to figure out the spelling of Lily. There are 2 different meanings for the 2 different spellings.

Lily - Latin for Is a blossoming flower
Lilly- Latin for Is the flower

Now Hudson is because of DH being in the RAAF so go figure lol. DH says it will be a talking point in his adult years lol. I can see his point.

Thanks for the well wishes, yep my sister is just the best, just knows what to say and do to make me smile. Just a quick one as I'm on my lunch break and need to get back to work soon. Well I went to the appointment this morning and he said that it was strange to get af so early and that this cycle I will have to use a gel in my whoha (sorry forget what is called) to put off af a little longer. I am also on 75iu per injection, which I thought I would be on. I am going back next Tues and taking DH with me so hoping I will get the trigger shot and FS wants to talk about the next step. The nurse also saw me this morning and had a chat about my weight (basically gave me a kick up the bum, lol) as I have put on weight since first seeing them, and she said if I get down to a BMI of 35 then I will qualify for 1 free IVF cycle with another specialist that works at QFG. As money will be a big issue for us to do IVF, she spoke to the specialist and he said he would be happy for us to do it, just need to loose the weight. So DH and I have some talking to do and decide on what we are going to do, I was thinking if we stop thinking about TTC and I focus on me for a while and loose the weight so it's not too much playing on my mind at once. Hoping that it won't get to that, but in the back of my mind I am thinking it will.

Sorry for the me post, but thought I would update what I am doing as prob won't be back for a little while, want to give my mind a break and need to sort out what to do next. Wishing everyone the best of luck for their cycles and having more BFP's on here.

Keli - we chose maddison because we like maddy and sheree is my cousins name - the one who made our maddy possible, she donated me her eggs. She doesnt know yet, to be honest im surprised i have kept it a secret from her for so long she will find out when she meets her :)

epayne - good luck with the weight loss, hopefully by changing your motivation to the weight loss and not ttc it will do the trick for you. I know a few people that have lost weight with the diet shakes but it does take alot of will power - i would be no good at it.

Ohhhhh Tammara that is beautiful, I thought that may have been the case. Your cousin will be so excited. Does she know you're having a girl?

Ive had to tell her a lie about the middle name because from day one hubby had always said leslie for middle name -girl or boy. So i told her that i am trying to get hubby to have anne as middle name - (that mine and sherees middle name) just incase she got something made for her with her name on it

Keli- I love Oscar and Olive they are both lovely! With our DS, he ended up with two middle names to cover both sides of the fam. So he's Xavier (all his) Leo (DH's Grandfather) William (my dad's middle name, and his dad's etc). DH's dad name is Lawrence Walter, so we may have to use one of those if we had a nother boy (I'm not a fan of either!)

Porsche- I like Lily with 1 l but both are nice. It would be easier to find stuff with her name on it with Lily! Next year at school we have a Lili, Lilie and Lilia starting as well as a Leila who likes to be called Lily! It's very popular at the moment!

Tammara- that is a super special surprise for your cousin, but fitting since she helped make your beautiful baby girl possible. She will be thrilled I bet!

Liz-I know what you mean about the wake up call. My FS basically said it was every likelyhood that my weight is causing my miscarriages...harsh. But it gave me the goal I needed. GL with whatever you decide. I'm on 75 of gonal as well. With the puregon you can refill the cartridge part instead of getting a new pen each time, so I guess that's where the mix up was. FS probably assumed I already had it! Let's make this our last month of jabbing!!!

AFM: Nothing new. Still bloated but not as bad as yesterday, must have been a first jab thing! Will have a scan next Thursday or Friday, but it would be a welcome surprise to actually o around CD14! Never, ever happened before...

We have Kiera for a girl and maybe Louise for the middle name (not too sure). For the boy, we had to change our boys name - we had Luke but a gf has a Lucas and my cousin will probably name her baby due in Dec Luca (sp?), so that is a no go. We have also had Mitchell, Callan or Callum. Found it tough for boys names.......

Hi all :)

Dont have much time - lots to do before bed! Just wanted to post an update re: my fs appointment today. As it turned out my usual fs was back from the conference so I saw her. I have one big fat follicle on my right ovary (that's the only ovary that has done anything on any of the three clomid cycles). The follie measured 23mm. I'm cd16 so I'm pretty happy with that. My uterine lining was 11mm which isnt so good apparently. It is a little on the thickish side. She thinks I may have endometrial hyperplasia (which means the lining is thick because it never completely "empties out" during AF). I have to have a scan on the first couple of days of AF so the FS can get a "baseline" for the endo thickness (unless, of course, I get UTD this month).
Other than that she gave me another script of clomid with two repeats...I just asked her and she gave it to me...!!! But DH and I have an appointment with her on November 10 to determine plan of action. Most likely this will be antagonist cycle of IVF because, in her words, "I dont want to miss the boat" with less effective treatments if the clomid doesnt do the job.
Anyway, three nights of bumping uglies for me. I guess sometimes you just have to take one (or three) for the team ;) lol
Oh yeah, had to give myself another trigger shot of ovidrel tonight. Didnt hurt a bit! I may have a future career as a nurse ;)

Bec - I am doing well thanks - just got back from 5 days in Noosa, I am 16 weeks on Saturday - time has gone so fast. I also love Piper and Willow, actually our girls names are Willow Rose and if we have a second it is Harper Hunter, but we would consider Piper too. I think we are on the same wave length re: names as I love Xavier too ;) We have Archie if this one is a boy.

Kris - Good luck this round hun - I hope you get a good prog number and catch the egg this month!

Liz - Sorry AF arrived, how frustrating :( - sounds like it is a good idea to take a mental break and focus on you for a while, hopefully you don't need it but would be good to get 1 free cycle!

No persies today. Just a quick note to let you know that I am still waiting for AF. Based on the midcycle bleeding I had, I am guessing that if I ovulated, it was around day 17, so If AF is going to arrive, she should be due about nowish, but still waiting! Will wait another week and then do a pregnancy test (who am I kidding, I will do another 50 tests before then) and then if I don't have a positive by then will go to plan B and force the next cycle.

Hi everyone, I was hoping i could join in. My name is Rai, I'm 36 and my partner is 40. We have 2 children, my DS is 17 and DS is 3. I have been trying to fall pregnant with my 3rd for 28 very fustrating months. I have been on clomid for 9 months last year and back on it again for 5 months so far this year. Hello Girls.

To answer your question Becnxavi: no idea if I ovulate on clomid, this is only my second round, but this month they are testing.

Rough results of the follicle scan was as follows. CD14: roght ovary only had about 3 follicles with one dominant one being about 1.85cm. But the left was more active with 7-9 follicles and 2 dominant ones ( 2.35 and 2.87cm ) can someone tell me if this is ok???

Yes I am still alive, just been super busy.
Won't even attempt persies as it has been so long but I must say that I love all the baby names and Porsche Hudson is a cool name. I taught a Hudson and he was the most gorgeous little boy. I am sure Bec will agree with me that it is really hard to find names that you like when you are a teacher because some children can put you off a name for life, lol. DH has chosen our names and there is no budging him on the girl's name as he has that picked out from before we started dating, I may have more luck with the boys name but as I like the ones he has picked there probably won't be an issue.
He has Kadence Grace (Kady) for a girl, still not sure how we will spell it, and Cooper for a boy (although I like Carter too).
Well I am CD 30 and had a temp drop this morning so hopefully it will jump up (and stay there) tomorrow. Haven't had any other symptos though this month so will have to wait and see. Not very positive atm about anything happening this month.
Will try very hard to get on here more regularly.

AFM - AF kind of arrived on Thursday evening, but it has been the most pitiful excuse for an AF I have ever had. I have not had more than a bit of spotting really, so I have no idea what is going on!? Has anyone else had rediculously light periods on Clomid?? Still BFN's on the tests, so I am beginning to think that I didn't ovulate at all this cycle?!? Help someone!

Mel- my AF was light on Clomid the longer I took it.

Shan- Welcome Back! Hope it's a BFP from you this month. What are your cycles normally? I like Kadence, but I must admit (although I liked the name originally) it's now off my list because of a student I taught! I love Carter too!

Tess- they sound like really good sized follies! What did your dr make of it?

Rai- I'm assuming you're ovulating on clomid or they wouldn't let you stay on it? There are other options before IUI. I'm doing injectable FHS shots since I was on clomid for 12 months. It basically the same but the keep a closer eye on follies. Might be worth considering?

Pumpgirl- You must be so relieved now you are into the teen weeks! I remember I relaxed considerably. I can recommend Xavier, my DS is a beautiful child, the only thing I find annoying is that people still call him Exavier instead of Zavier! Even some of my extended family still do it. There is only so many times you can pronounce it carefully in their hearing...but still it's a great name!

AFM: CD10 I think, and I've had quite a bit of o pain and increased CM. I don't have my follie scan till Friday, so I guess we'll just get at it just in case IYKWIM! ;) It would be lovely if I could actually o on time for a change, not to mention I'm a bit over the whole jabbing thing! Does it make anyone else dizzy? At least it doesn't hurt I suppose!

Shan - welcome back ;) Love the name Kadence :) I know a Cooper and he is a little painful, so I am turned off by that name.....

Mel - I haven't been on Clomid for a long period of time but I would say that my period was definately shorter.

Bec - The rain was shocking! Where has our lovely spring weather gone?! In relation to the jabbing - I will probably start IUI next week if AF shows up on time (I did a POAS & it was neg...) and I am concerned that b/c I have a jelly belly that I won't jab in the right place! I remember the clinic nurse going through it with me but it all seems like a blur now! lol Will have to get her to go through it quickly with me again :) I am on CD 26 (I think!) & AF is due Wednesday but I am guessing she'll be late - she has been the last few cycles :S

Bec- Yes i'm ovulating on clomid and doing pregnyl shots as well but i do
ovulate on my own. Thanks for the advice on the injectable FHS shots

AFM: I'm CD 15 and not holding out much hope this month. My DS2 just had his adnoids and tonsils out which has been very painful so sleeping with us.

Rhichichi - I hope AF isn't late for you. I waitied over a week for her to arrive when we were doing IVF. Longest week of my life. Nothing worse when you have a plan and the which decides to be late. Good luck for your IUI.

Bec - That sounds very promising. FX your one of the BFP! 12 weeks today so over the milestone mark but still hanging out till our scan next week.

Wannababymumma - My AF were always heavy on clomid. I'd have 2 heavy days and then the 3rd would be super heavy and then taper away. it's not implant bleeding by chance?

Porsche - If you can make it implantation bleeding somehow, then you would be my best friend forever!! (I sound like I'm in pre-school - "I'll be your best friend" hahaha). I didn't know what to do, so given that the HPT was a BFN, I started my next round of Clomid. Now knowing my luck, I will be pregnant and the baby will come out with an extra foot or something stupid!

That was only the end of my second cycle, so I don't think I could have gone from a full on period from hell last month to literally nothing this month? Did you see a change that quickly Bec? It's not even that it's shorter, if it was just shorter I would been fine and celebrating, because I when I was regular years ago they were shorter than recently, and I hate it when it drags on. But this just doesn't make sense. Last month was horrific and crazy heavy and seemed to last forever, but this time I haven't even had any actual red blood. Just pinkish occasionally when I wiped and then a little bit of brown. I literally didn't need to wear a pad at all (but I did half expecting a flood to start but it never came). Started noticing a tiny bit of pink on Friday when I wiped and by Monday, nothing, not a single sign! The other thing that I thought was strange, was the whole time (and still now) I feel like I have my period (some cramping and sore lower back), nothing extreme, but that is why I was so sure that it was AF, as it feels like AF!! What is my body doing to me!! *Pulls hair out*

Just poking my head in to say hello.

WBM - you never know....you still may be in with a chance. Have you rang your fs? My advice is to phone and/or go in and have a chat with him/her. If you cant get an appointment, perhaps visit your gp and have a blood test. That way, at least, you will know for sure if you are pregnant or not. I think it's typical of our pcos/endometriosis/adenyomyosis/etc/etc-ridden bodies that things never go as we expect. Nothing is "normal" for us. There is no "normal". So we just have to go with the flo (or no flow, or heavy flow...whatever the case may be lol ) It's a pain in the arse though...Keep your chin up and try not to let it drive you to distraction!!!!

RE: discussing baby names. I read somewhere once, years ago, that no matter what name you choose, for whatever gender, if you tell people about it, there is ALWAYS someone who had a dog with the same name while they were growing up. lol ...It's a theory I live by LOL So you'll never get a baby name out of me!

AFM - CD22. I think I am about 5 days past ovulation. I am feeling a little achy in my back. Probably all in my mind...I have decided not to take notice of any signs ....except the positive one on the HPT (IF and when that ever happens!)
