Tash - I hope you don't mind me asking, but if your progesterone is so high, that means you are ovulating right? Does your doc have any idea why you are not pregnant yet? The only reason I'm asking is because my doc seems to think that if I'm not pregnant in 3 months maybe my tubes are blocked.. Thing is, I can't afford to have a lap with her as she is private, so I am going to ask if I can do clomid for more cycles, if I don't fall pg.. Does your doc have a plan for you?

He is only an OBS/GYNO so he called an endocrinologist (who are have more expertise) and she said it was fine to have levels that high, unusual, but fine. After this next cycle I will go back and then we will discuss what to do next. I don't think my tubes are blocked because i did fall PG 8 years ago. But I have heard that if clomid doesn't work in the first 3 cycles then it probably wont, but I have also known of ladies that have got a BFP on their 4th or 5th cycle, so who knows. My problem used to be that I wasn't ovulating enough and I have ovulated every cycle with clomid, but no BFP! Maybe I will have more tests when I go back to see him.

I think it's just a bit of old blood left over from my af to be honest. Or maybe dh was too harsh when dtd on Monday night? I had a teeny tiny spot yesterday that was brownish cm. And today I had a teeny spot of red/pink cm? No idea. I'll watch my temps and see what's going on. Very odd because I've had not one positive opk (today or last week) hmmm I really hope af doesn't come until it's supposed to.

We shall see... I've already doctor googled....

Whatever it is... It has stopped. Fx it stays that way so I get af when I am supposed to!

lysndan: how frustrating for you, hopefully your body sorts itself out

mystic angel: welcome, i hope you ovulate earlier on clomid than i do !

Rai: hhhmmm you are in a difficult situation. i would agree ivf is probably the better option for you, i have also heard it has better success rates (not that i have had either yet). so if your dp will give you a sperm sample and you do iui thats it once chance but if you do ivf does that mean you will do a stimulated cycle and get as many follicles as possible and use the one and only sperm cycle to fertilise them all and transfer a few and freeze some (sorry im thinking out a loud), will he agree to you doing as many tries as you have frozen embies ? does that make sense ? what im trying to say is if you do ivf and get lots of embies in the freezer will he be happy for you to use them or is it one chance no matter which way you go ?

Minniemouse- yeah it's annoying. But if it turns out to be af early then there's not a lot I can do apart from crank the clomid out! :) least that's doing something! It's probably nothing though....

Rai- how was your sandwich? And in regards to ' one shot...' I'd prob agree with mm. Ivf has more chance of it working...

Tasha- what other tests can they do? I've heard of a lady who fell pg after 8 cycles of clomid. They don't like to go over 6 months usually do they?

Minnie and LysnDan - I'm not sure what other tests, but I guess they will just be to rule out possible problems. Is it possible to have healthy tubes and then later they become blocked? And no I have heard they don't like more than six months of clomid, it messes with your body.

AFM - I am 8dpo today (I think) judging on CM. I always have creamy cm 2 days after O and have had it now since Saturday. Not feeling too confident, nothing else but CM to report. Isn't it funny, I have no CM at all, not even over O ( so I use preseed) and 2 days later I get heaps! stupid body!

Tasha- yeah it's pretty silly... Darn bodies.

And I was shocked that they let her do clomid for 8 months too!

It was all monitored though. But took her 8 cycles. Apparently some doctors say you can be on it for 12 cycles? I find that hard to believe. It does mess up your body.

Ahh the things we do to our body.

AFM- temps gone back up? It's like a yoyo... Spotting has gone. Negative Opk still...

Another anovulatory cycle for me I think.

Oh well. Clomid to the rescue!

Tash - Unfortunately is is possible to have clear tubes that become blocked.. That's why I am praying I fall pregnant within these 3 cycles, otherwise my doc wants to check mine, even though I was pregnant with my twins 3yrs ago..

Just lurking....

The reason they don't like you to do more than six clomid cycles is because of the heightened risk of ovarian cancer.

Rai- I am on my third ivf cycle at the moment. If you want to know anything specific, just ask! Happy to help if I can!! Keep in mind it will need more involvement from you dh than just a sperm sample or two. He will have to attend counselling, do a police and child safety check (in Victoria) and attend appointments with you. I think it would also be emotionally hard without his support. Financially too!! Maybe try explaining to him how much it means to you....

:o ****e, really? There's ovarian cancer already in my family.. :( Please let me get a BFP within 3 cycles :( 15DPO and no AF yet...

Blessed I'm sure they will monitor you very closely due to family history. Just let your doctor know.

My obgyn said most doctors prescribe 6 months but if it's working well and everything else is ok then you can get another 3-6 months... But they don't like doing it as N2L has said...

I have a feeling that af may just stay away for 9 months for you... This month is your month chick! Good luck xx

Tasha - Yes tubes can become blocked i have had mine checked with dye 2 times in the last 34 mths. I have been on clomid for around 15 mths with breaks in between and FS checks my lining to make sure its not thinning. According to FS its not really a heightened risk of ovarian cancer unless like in America they can have you on it for 10 yrs but they dont here that's what she told me anyway;)

minniemouse - I agree at least if i can get lots of follies i can freeze some and try again if i need to. Yes i cant see a problem with DP letting me do that. THANK YOU:D

n2l - He wont do anything else believe me i have asked many times. I've been with the same FS for 4 years and has meet DP when i had DS2 so really hoping that he will not need to be more involved than supplying the seman sample or else i wont be able to do it i'm in QLD so i dont think we need police checks. My dad offered to help me with IVF (thank god for dad's). Thank you i will definately be asking questions;)

I was worried about the spotting I had last night so my doc text me (I know how good is that!) and said she would ring and chat to me later tonight.

Well she just rang and said shed like to see me before I go in for the op. To give me a few request forms for blood etc...

What monitoring goes with clomid?

She's already given me a cd21 blood test form and she's given me an ultrasound form.

Is she going to present me with a frequent vampire form too lol!

At least she put my mind at ease. First dr who's ever done that! And she said to call if in doubt with clomid... She wants to make me feel like this is going to be extremely monitored and boy is she doing a good job. I love my dr. She is such an angel! (and currently studying emergency c sections and other baby related studies!) Yay! She will be delivering (at a local hospital which has just been upgraded for maternity ward!) our bubba when it decides to come :) so happy with my decision to move my results there!

well 2 HPT's and no, not pregnant.. I wouldn't have tested yet but I'm going away today, and one of my friends is having a going away party because she got a job in the states.. I'll be able to have a drink.. Or 500 to drown my sorrows. Lol.. I'm disappointed of course, but really didn't expect to fall on 1st cycle of clomid anyway.. Fingers crossed for next month

Re: the dye test. Yes it does hurt. More than I thought it would. Have a couple of nurofen beforehand. Also afterwards!

minniemouse - No dye test was not painful at all for me but i just read n2l comment so i suppose everyone is different but i do strongly suggest painkillers before hand i took nurofen plus. GOOD LUCK;)

Hi ladies, just popping in to update. Nothing. No cramps, no sore boobs, no mood swings, no symptoms of anything at all. Just like last month. :(
tomorrow will be 10 dpo I'm pretty sure. I would have some kind of symptom by now. I don't get O pain anymore and I don't get AF symptoms, I get nothing. It's like I don't even have a uterus and ovaries anymore!

Heya ladies thanks for the warm welcome :) Is anyone using any aids apart from preseed? I can only get it online or an hours drive away and O is meant to be between now and friday next week....Ive heard of eggwhites and sylk also? I used normal opks last cycle but they were confusing,saying I was o'ing but then the blood tests said otherwise so Im thinking of buying the digital ones. Are they any good??

I use preseed it mimics fertile cervical mucous. I use the digital opks when I get what looks to be a near positive on the Internet cheapies. Then have a cd21 blood test.

So, ladies, the spotting was afterall my good old enemy af. On cd1 today so start my clomid (after drs advice) from today (cd1) to cd5... Nervous. Don't know why it's cd1-5 now when she firstly said cd2-6 ?

Edit: (9.20pm) after a few hours the spotting and ultra light bleeding have stopped again. I'm not taking clomid I'm convinced and my flo is heavier.

There is still a lot of brown spotting! I wish my body would make up it's mind as to what is happening. I'm over it!

Apparently the earlier on in the cycle the more mature your eggs get?

Mystic Angel - Not sure if this is any help, but Forelife have a sperm friendly lube. You can get it from Priceline Pharmacies.. Thats where I got mine anyway, haven't seen it anywhere else..

Massive temp drop this morning.. AF will be here tomorrow, I'd say.. Now I know I'm not pregnant I just want her to hurry up so I can start my next cycle...

ETA: Hello AF :) Let clomid round 2 start tomorrow :)

Ladies, due to everything that is currently going on with the lumpectomy and my health, and also the pressures of my business and my photography diploma, hubby and I have decided that we may not be ready for drugs such as clomid or other fertility drugs or intervention.

I think we are going to just have sexy time when we feel like it and if we get lucky then we get lucky. So NTNP as such. I will not be temping. as much as it's going to be hard to 'let go and let it happen' I think it's the best thing for us to do.

I may still go for the cd 21 bloods to occasionally check my progesterone levels, and make sure everything is in tip top condition. But this TTC is honestly doing our heads in.

There's lots more to focus on then me having a baby in my belly (as much as that's what I've longed for... For so long) it's just not practical to stress myself out like I'm doing.

I'll pop in from time to time but I'll be pretty quiet.

Here begins our not trying not preventing (as such) method of TTC.

It does seem like you have a lot on your plate. It's so easy to become all-consumed with TTC, often at the expense of other things in your life.

minniemouse - I dont have any symptoms except for just before AF starts but i also dont have any PG symptoms so presuming the worst yesterday. Then got up this morning and tested and BFN but still no symptoms of AF but sure its on its way just a matter of when. Good Luck hoping for a positive OPK today for you so you can start BD'ing (have fun!!) I have to say though pleased its you i just cant be bothered at the moment DP's not happy i have turned him away 3 times this week!!! GOOD LUCK really hoping for a BFP for you:D

Rai: sorry to hear about a bfn, fingers still crossed for you though ! no positive opt today, im so annoyed, it was almost positive yesterday but back to negative and i can't have missed it because i always get a lot of pain so know i have ovulate. we have been doing 2nd bding since last tuesday and im so over it its ridiculous, last cycle was great but this one im not the slightest bit in the mood.


blessedatlast: at what point during your cycle do you usually get the mood swings from clomid ?

MinnieMouse - TBH I'm not sure.. I had really bad PMS last month before I was even on the clomid which was unusual, but then I think from about day 3 of taking it.. I did record it a couple of times on FF. Day 6 I recorded I was in a bad mood and I remember I was BAD, the other days I just recorded irritability. Maybe I should be more strict with recording my mood this cycle.. Looking back, I was shocking, and to have my friend comment, means I must have been pretty bad, since although we are close we are not so close that I take my moods out on her, like I would a partner IYKWIM..

My bleeding is really light.. I'm not complaining, but day 3 and really light is unusual.. Oh well, I don't care as long as I ovulate.. Trying to plan a night or 2 up the Sunshine coast somewhere around O time.. Depends on work though..

My op went ok. I'm very very sore though.

Hubby and I had to decide today If we definately wanted to miss this cycle and after heaps of consideration, we have decided to do one month of clomid (super closely monitored.) This month I can guarantee if we o when the dr says is normal then hubby will be home! :) yay! That's why we go Month by Month my clomid treatment may be only once every 3 months. (during my peak times!)

I can only have 3 treatments Under my gp/obgyn (she's in training) so, then it will be up to my FS.

I have to have clomid days 2-6 and lh blood tests (OT-ovulation tracking) every day until I reach my peak. The lab calls me daily and Then I get busy, If its around o time. ;)

I'm not temping. Or charting only plotting days I take clomid and the days I bleed etc...

My relaxed approach has been messed with.

I took my first clomid pill and feel crappy! Tired, bloated and a hint of nausea (reckon that's from anesthetic.) but hot flushes... Yeah that's clomid.

afm: day 23 today and still negative opt, im beginning to stress i have somehow missed it, i can't see how and i usually have long cycles but im normally seeing a positive opt by now. i wouldn't normally care but i have the progesterone to use this time and im scared i should have started it already ! why is this so hard ?!!

MinnieMouse - It was absolutely devastating to lose my twins. When I was trying everyone said "When you fall pregnant it will be worth the wait" Then when I did, and it was twins I thought 'Yes this is finally it, and it was worth the wait' Only to lose them :( They weren't conceived on clomid. They were natural, which was an AMAZING surprise. I was so excited, I bragged to everyone about having twins :) They were and still are my pride and joy. I miss them every day. I can't believe they would be almost 2 and a half!

Lynsdan - good luck on the clomid :) Thats great you are getting daily BT's!! What exactly are they measuring? Progesterone or FSH, LH??

AFM - Well I haven't had any side effects so far except a mild headache. I have been recording my mood so that I can see a pattern for next cycle. I have been in a good mood though, really lightt bleeding and no bloating so far.. Hope it stays that way. I only want to bloat when there's a baby in there! Lol

Blessed it says on the forms lh monitoring from day 7. Then progesterone at day 21 under lab management. That's the monitoring they do on clomid over here in Perth (well the way my doctor told me she does it!) so I'll stick with it. 3rd tab today.

Do the side effects stop when you stop taking the pills or do they last all month?

Hi ladies
Thought I'd pop in here seeing my gyno has just prescribed me Metformin because of high insulin levels. I've also been given 4 CD21 tests for progesterone - Do I have to have that first thing in the morning? Or can I have it done any time during the day? Cause I'm getting it done tomorrow cause I'm... well, CD21
I'm 9DPO today, so I'm not starting it until I've had AF, but even though I was quietly confident of this cycle, after these three days of cramps, I'm not feeling so confident anymore.

I only get really bad headaches at the moment after the pills. I find, If I take them at night im way worse! And I get my headache back not Long after taking it again grr

Ahh well. Fx there's a baby getting close to growing in my belly!!

AFM-CD17 here and have been tracking my ovulation with clearblue since saturday and no positive yet, but today the line got slightly darker...Aparently I'm meant to ovulate anywhere from the 3rd-8th according to this clomid ovulation calculator..Boobs have gotten rather swollen thats for sure..is this just the clomid or could I be O'ing??
