Blossom, it took a lap for us to get DD, but I had suspected endo for 10 years at that point (but had been repeatedly told by Drs that my pain was "normal"). If you want to take a "leave no stone unturned" approach and you haven't had one, then it's a valid diagnostic tool, but it does come with all the risks of abdominal surgery. I went into my first lap knowing that a woman I went to school with had terrible complications from a lap she had for her endo (and that she went to the same hospital and may even have had the same surgeon), but it was worth the risk to increase our chances of success (and it worked!). The risk vs reward considerations are a very personal thing, so no-one can tell you whether you should or shouldn't do a lap, but they can give you different ideas and points to consider in making your decision.
