Hi - my name is Emily. Have never participated any any forums but thought I would give this a go.

I just finished my 3rd clomid round. The first 2 rounds didnt seem to do much to improve my ovulation so I'm not sure how I feel about this 3rd round.

Although I have friends and family I can talk to, I dont really have anyone in my life who understands. I'm mostly positive but sometimes i'm angry, sad, disappointed and feel like I need to share it with someone who knows.

Oh and I've noticed a lot of acronyms - some I have figured out and otheres not.

    Hi Emily.

I've just started on clomid this month. BB is fantastic for tuning in with other like minded women, especially as the endless frustration and despair of ttc is not the sort of thing you can really talk about in polite conversation!

So, I am checking into this thread to say I am having the most intense cramps today - day 22, exactly like I am about to get my period (which often comes on day 24 - 26). It's so full on, just wondering if it's the clomid that is making it this bad or if there is some other strange thing wrong with me.

Has anyone else experienced this on clomid?

    Thanks for the welcome!

Hi Bea. I havent had any cramps. I've been lucky, the only side effect I've noticed is some mild hot flushes.

I've also been using primolut to bring on my periods. They make me cranky.

    Hi all,

Hope everyone is well and not stressing too much.

Bea - Yes I totally know what you mean, since being on Clomid (on round 4 now) I have had the worst periods. They are so excruciatingly painful. I was beginning to think that maybe I have endometriosis as well but maybe it's just a side effect. I am seeing my Gyno again on Nov 20th and she will be booking me in to have a laparoscopy then, so I will ask her and see what she says. Good to know I am not alone though, that is what I love about this sight, just when you thought you were the only one feeling/doing something, someone will post the exact same thing.

Jess85 - Where have you gone love? Haven't seen you on here for a while, I miss you!

Where I am at: Well its day 29 now, my period usually comes around day 33. Don't feel like it's coming just yet but then again it could be just be telling myself that. Don't really have any preg symptoms this time round (I have done in the past). Will just have to wait and see I guess.

Hope everyone is well. to all.

Hi Emily.ttc - Welcome to the forum. Hope you love it as much as I do.
Just a question, you said that you are on your 3rd round of Clomid and you are not sure if the 1st 2 did much. Didn't you have blood tests to make sure you ovulate? What dosage are you on? My first round I was on 50mg and I ovulated, then the next round I didn't, so my Gyno increased my dose to 75mg and I ovulated but I don' think I have again this round, it is so frustrating.

Hope you are will, hopefully talk soon.

    Hello All,

Im on my 2nd round of Clomid, & today is the day my P's are due, i have had the sore boobs, which i get every month with my Period, & only slight unnoticeable pain, but obviously like you all i try to find things to distinguish, My sister has said with both her pregnancy she had excruitiating Period pain, so i guess i dont know what to think.
Im just hoping that they dont come.

Hey Keli!im still here, just trying to keep positive, i am a very emotional person in general so i have been even more emotional lately, im sure everyone relates.. please let us know how you go, if you get them this month, seems like we are around the same cycle, todays my 28th day & i normally get them between 28-30, im the same as you, i havent had much period pain, & im constantly thinking about it, its awful feeling, im so down, & worst of all My best friend, (who has had 7 abortions in the past) is due to have a baby in January, im to be GodMother, which i am thrilled for her, i am, i am helping alot with the Baby shower, but as you can imagine, its really affecting me mentally thinking how many girls have abortions, but the people that want one so bad they would do anything for have to go through so much. (im so emotional)

Hi Emily, im fairly new to this all too! & as soon as i joined, i started to feel better immediately, knowing that everything i go through so many other gals can relate to aswell, Not sure if i have missed this, Can i ask what is your Difficulty in Concieving? PCOS?

    Goodluck all!

    Hey Jess.

i totally agree with you about seeing the women that have abortions then concieve so easy it makes me very angry and think it is just such a waste, but i guess everyone has a reason for doing things. At least we all know when we do get our bubs it will be loved more than anything in the world.

Hi Keli - Sorry I probably wasnt clear, I have been having blood tests. My first dosage was 50mg but I didnt ovulate, second round was 100mg still didnt ovulate. I've just finished my 3rd round also 100mg but my gut feel is telling me that I probably wont ovulate - I guess I'm just getting ahead of myself. If I have to do a 4th round it will be 150mg... The primolut I take to bring on a period which then allows me to take the clomid. I was also diagnosed with endo last year and because I wasnt with a health fund had to wait 6 months for a laproscopy (did that in March this year - and also a member of a healthfund now).

    Hi again,

Oh Jess how exciting, I have everything crossed for you that it does not come back, not for at least 12 months anyway. How bizarre, yes our cycles sound very similar and almost the exact same day too.
You poor thing, that must be awful for you with your best friend, of course you are excited for her but I bet you wish you could go through pregnancy together. Unfortunately too, those that have had no trouble conceiving I find are very insensitive, I?m sure they don?t mean too but it?s really hard to be around them. I find myself distancing myself from preg friends, not intentionally, but just because it hurts me so much to see them preg (and not me). Oh and a baby shower too Jess, not fun at all. Hang in there chick, I?m sure it will be your turn soon, all this good karma you are doing has to come back soon. It has just dawned on me that my friend is also due in January and is having her baby shower on Nov 29th, not the same friend is it? Now that would be bizarre.

Tamara you are right, our babies will be so loved they wont know what to do with all the love, he he!

Oh Emily.ttc you poor love, 100mg of Clomid?that must be hell. I can?t believe you had to wait 6 months to get a laparoscopy, I am going to see my Gyno about that next week. When we first met she said that I had to ovulate 3 times before she would send me to get one but if I find out next week that I have to wait 6 months for one and she hasn?t put me on a waiting list then I will be so mad. (I don?t have Private health insurance either).

Off for now, had my sook.

Hey girls, just wondering about you guys having to wait 6 months for laparoscopy due to no health insurance. Its strange cos i actually have full hospital cover and my surgeon for the drilling said not to tell the hospital about it (something to do with him getting paid or something) and i was done within the month i think only 2 weeks since seeing the surgeon.

Maybe its where i live and not so much demand who knows????

    Hi Tamara,

Thanks for that, it makes me feel a little better. I live in Melbourne Metro so that may be a problem, I have full intension on just balling my eyes out until she puts me through as ?Urgent?. I know they can rush it if they really want to.

Fingers crossed I don?t even need to go!

thats probably why then, i live in gippsland and had mine done in Traralgon hospital - where the population is only 20 - 25 thousand people much much less than Melbourne

Maybe you can talk to the Dr and tell them how hard it will be if you have to wait that long, it might help you get to the top of the list quicker? cant hurt but as you said lets hope you dont need to think about that at all

    Hi girls,

Jess - sorry I missed your question... PCOS & Endo. Double whammy. And I feel for you re your friend. I can imagine how hard that would be but I guess we just have to keep positive.

The 100mg of clomid hasnt actually affected me. I dont get many side effects and thats what makes me think that its not working... Mind you I had no idea I had endo either... My mother had it and I remember she used to get really sever pains and apparently thats normal with endo. The dr was surprised, especially seeing I was riddled with the stuff.

I'm not sure who's decision it is re the lap. But I did wait 6 months. I suspect my dr didnt think I was "urgent", at the time I remember him telling me I was young compared to other patients. I was 28, turning 30 soon. I didnt think much of it at the time because the process has only just started and I was overwhelmed. And I also thought that I'd be pregnant within a couple of months after the procedure. I really hope you dont have to wait that long Keli.

Geez I'm surprised at how much I can go on!!

I better get back to work

    Sending you all lots of

    Hi gals,

firstly, Whats a Laparoscopy? sometimes i wonder whether my specialist is doing everything in her power to help me fall, i see her for 15 mins every 6months, she shows me my bloods, tells me what needs improving & the last time i seen her in August she put me onto Clomid, 50mg.. & said "see you after 6months" now im hoping i wont have too. Im just hoping she is doing everything, But if this does not work i will be definately be asking for more tests. The only tests she has done, are my bloods, Hubbys sperm test, & Falopean tube test, to check if they are blocked, Which was so extremely painful! Hubbys sperm was great, & tubes were not blocked, so im hoping she doesnt see the need to do other tests, the only bad results in my bloods was my high level of testosterone. she has ruled out Endo.

Is the highest dosage of Clomid 100mg?

How you going Keli? any signs of the dreadful monthlies? .. todays my 29th day, & i haveto say no pain at all, last month (my 1st month of Clomid) they were more painful than usual & very very heavy.. But i have had some bloatness, sore boobs & back. Which they say are all signs of pregnancy, so how can i not get hopeful?

I dont know what im going to do IF they come

I dont know if you gals have all thought the samething, But i play through my mind how i would tell the great news to hubby,When i do fall.

    fingers crossed for us all.

    Jess Xx
