    Hi Mez Moz,

Im in the same boat, weve bee TTC for about 14 months now, though we were unproctected for atleast 3years but not trying on correct dates, if that makes sense.
im 24 & hubbys 27, i have PCOS & am on my 3rd Clomid cycle.
Last week i called my FS & i asked should i have a laparoscopy, but she informed me that is only for women with Endo, maybe you should ask your FS that 1st cos you wouldnt want to do the procedure if it wasnt necessary, i googled it, its surgery.

I understand completeley about not telling your friends, unfortunately i found out i had PCOS when i was 16 or 18, & not understanding the full extent to it, i told all my friends, now thinking on it i wish i hadnt. since then 2 of my friends have had countless abortions, & you would understand how that had made me feel. Both them friends had a baby in the end, 1 is due in January. Now i dont tell anyone we are trying cos i dont want them to know, its so painful.

I dont know if this will help anyone, but i google alot () & so last week i googled what things to eat & not to eat while trying, i know that they arent proven facts, but it helps me when im trying to help myself.. Aparently Caffiene is a no no, & you should eat heaps of Berries & oysters, or subsitute oysters for Zinc Vitamins!

All the obvious things, like fatty foods, you shouldnt eat.. ill find out what Vitamins are good for women TTC & post it..

    GOODLUCK LADIES!!

    Xx Jess

Mezmoz - you might see some of my details up above about my experience. Anyway, I had a lap/hys/dye done and had to wait until my next cycle. I was close to the 2 year mark at that stage, but the first month after I fell and still am.

Jess, my surgery was exploretory - my FS standard was put you on clomid for 4 months if you are then not, he does the surgery no matter what, as he explained that there is a higher chance in the first 3 months after having it done that you will fall. I would be demanding that this get done, if I were you. I didn't think it was that major, it was by keyhole. I was in "surgery" for 25 mins and awake after an hour. I had it done on a Friday and was back at work on Monday. Also the reason the DR did it was because he wanted to see if anything was wrong down there. I used to get bad period pains and ovulation pains. But nothing wrong just needed a "clean out", he would have done it even if I didn't have pains, just to rule out things.

some of the other girls also suggest you take the clomid at night, as you avoid some of the bad reactions. In saying that, all of what you said is pretty standard as to what I experienced.

    Fingers crossed girls.

    A long post this time

    Hi everyone,

So sorry I have not been on for a while, my stupid work has blocked this site so I can only read and not respond whilst I’m at work, will have to send replies at home from now on.

Also…hubby and I just bought our first home and moved in over the weekend so the past few weeks have been crazy for me with packing and moving.

    Hey Jess,
Oh bummer, I’m sorry your period arrived, no fun. That’s no good that you had no support at work, hope hubby was good to you Friday night. That’s great news that you are starting round 3 though, I have everything crossed for you. I have just finished my 4th round, only 3 of which worked (I ovulated). So a Laparoscopy is a procedure where they put you under a general aesthetic and insert 2-4 instruments into your abdomen to have a look around, they also check to see if your fallopian tubes are block and if so they attempt to unblock them. They will also have a look at my cysts on my ovaries and maybe try to remove some of them. A Lap is the only way of testing for endo which is what I am beginning to think I may have with all the pain that’s been going on, if they do find endo then they can clean it out for me. This procedure substantially increases your chases of fertility so long as it all goes smoothly. The flip side is that the fallopian tubes are blocked and cannot be cleared, in which case you then jump straight to IVF. Hope that helps to explain it a little. Try google’ing it. No I don’t see my gyno after every month, she told me to come back if we weren’t preggas after 3 months because we have been trying for 2 & ½ years and she can tell that we are over it. Emotionally I am doing better this week, I really feel that it is in the water at the moment, everyone around me is pregnant, and hopefully it will be our turn soon. How about you gorgeous? How did the shower go? I have my friends on this weekend J Also did you end up asking your specialist if you could get the dye test done again? Hope you are feeling better chick.

Hi 31Becc, Just a quick question about your Lap, did they find anything? Did they have to clean your tubes out etc? And how long after your lap could you start TTC again?

Frustrated, I am so glad everything is going well for you. Please continue to keep us updated. It’s so good to see “One of our own” preggas and all going well. I love it J

Emily ttc, yes I get a little sick of people asking that question. Sometimes I’m polite and just answer with “soon”, but sometimes (on my moody days) I respond with “we’ve been trying for 2 and half years and we’re having some complications”, that tends to shut people up pretty quickly.

Good luck Tamara, everything is crossed for you, please let us know how you go.

Hi Mez Moz, welcome to the forum. I also have had extreme pain on Clomid and am now off to have a lap done. Not sure if the pain is related to the Clomid but I’d prefer to know, at least this way I will know if anything else is wrong. I too have had hot flushes, they’re not much fun you feel like you’re going through menopause.

As for me… well I saw gyno on Friday morning (before settlement of our new house) she has booked me in for a Lap and because I have been having pain with my periods she was able to upgrade me and I am on a waiting list that is no more than 3 months (the other waiting list was 6-12 months), so I’m reasonably happy about that. Also I am on a last minute notice waiting list so if someone cancels there appointment (get’s preggas in the mean time) I can be called in with 48 hours notice and take their appointment. So I should know by the end of the week (I think) when I am booked in for. I have decided to give myself and hubby a rest this month, so no clomid for me.

So I am going to get graphical for a sec here (sorry) just need to ask some questions though. The last 3 nights I have been sweating like crazy and my mucus has increased heaps, but I’m not on Clomid. Is it possible that I am ovulation off the clomid even though I never have before? Has anyone heard of this happening?

Sorry this is such a long post, just had a lot to say.

Thanks to everyone for all your support, I don’t know what I would do without this forum.

Love & Support to you all.

    Hey ladies

Just wanted to fill you in about my blood test, i got my results yesterday and she said there was progesterone so it could mean i have just ovulated or about to ovulate or i will get period soon. So another 2 weeks wait to see what happens.

Im hoping its the ovulation because hubby has been home so he has been able to get the job done so to speak lol

But if i find i get my period im not going to get upset just means i start the injections and take it from there.

Keli - i dont really know much about what you were saying but i wouldnt count ovulation out it might just have needed a kick start

About the laparoscopy - i had ovarian drilling done which is different but i would imagine done pretty much the same way and like bec i was ok the next couple of days

    confused

    Hi Ladies!

Thank you all for telling me about your expierences with a lap, etc.. Im just so confused, My FS is suppose to be one of the best & im feeling like she hasnt done all the test required, or as she said they arent needed to be done on me, cos i do ovulate nicely, (apparently thats what the last bloods showed).. Ive had the Falopian test done, & i have heard women fall after that, but i didnt, however i wasnt on Clomid so i dont know if Clomid would have helped. The only thing wrong that my Bloods showed was my Testosterone levels being higher than normal, & i think im a bit over weight.

Hey Kelli! i was wondering where you'd gone, nice to hear from you! ... Maybe a break from clomid is what you need, im sure we all understand the pressure & toll it takes to be on "schedule" .. My friends shower was fine, i thought it be hard on me, but it wasnt i was fine.. Goodluck with yours, & let me know how it all goes.
fingers crossed for you babe that you dont have Endo! XX
Im thinking maybe i need another falopian tube test, (HSG) i think the last time i had it done was Last Feb, Do you girls think thats a long time? has anyone done this test more than once?
Having a Lap will only test for Endo right? it wouldnt help with concieving?

hi Tamara, -hoping this happens for you, i know its hard not to get down.. What injections? IUI?

Can anyone tell me what they feel or what symptoms they get when ovulating? i wanna know what im feeling is ovulation..

    Goodluck all! Xx

Hey Tammara, don’t you just love test results that are vague? Good luck with the wait again, I have my fingers crossed for you. How often does your hubby go away? Have you thought about Insemination? I mean I’m sure you’d totally prefer it get’s done the natural way (lol) but if he’s away lots it might be a plan. My hubby’s last job saw him interstate all the time so we had a little look into it. What exactly are the injections? Sorry if you have already explained this, I’m just interested. Thanks for the info on the lap.

Hey Jess, So I’ve been thinking about you and maybe because you are ovulating well she does not feel the need for the lap. Do you know if you were ovulating prior to going on Clomid? From what I know, with the fallopian test it increases your chances of falling for 3 months because it clears out the tubes. Can you just book yourself in for another one? How did you get it done last time? I know what you mean, sometimes they’re a little intimidating to ask all the questions to, that’s what this site is for I guess. Did she say what you can do about your testosterone being up? My Naturopath has brought mine down before (she counteracted it with estrogens).
I’m glad to hear the shower went well, I’ll let you know how I go, I think I’ll be fine on the day. Having a lap will test for endo but will also check out my fallopian tubes to make sure they’re not blocked.

As for me when I think I’m ovulating, I get quite sharp but quick pains, similar to period pains but I find period pains duller. Hope that helps.

As for me…..I’m just still waiting on me letter from the hospital, if I haven’t got one by Monday I will give them a call to see where it’s at.

Good luck to everyone for this month, it’s time for some good news again.

    Hey Keli

He usually works away 10 days home 2 so there is very little chance of it just happening. The injections i may go back to are for IUI - intra uterine insemination. I was on them before i had the ovarian drilling but my folicles were just not growing so they said to do the drilling and see what happens.

Im not sure about ovulation pains because ive never noticed any, but a couple of weeks ago i was getting period type pain and it was pretty noticable - not like doubled over pain but enough to take panadol.

    Hi ladies

re ovulation pain, I never really had ovulation pain before I went on clomid, but I certainly did on clomid! If ovulation is the best time to DTD, I don't know how I could coz it would be very uncomfortable! I had dull pains and slight swelling in my groin, which went away after a day. My temperature also was raised the next day, indicating I had ovulated.
