What test is that? Is that just the test to make sure your hormone levels are good to hold the embryo? I have to take Crinone gel twice a day to keep mine at the correct level. What's a pesserie?? SOrry, bit confused.

Hey K78 - Pessaries are exactly what Crinone is. Each other attempt has seen me use this since EPU, but for some reason not this time.

The test is as you guessed, to check hormone levels.

Will see what they say tomorrow morning.

Well I was wrong! Hormone levels fine without pessaries.... Yay!!

Took until this afternoon for FS to call me - but happy with this result so far.

Chekigirl, good news re your result. Now it's just waiting waiting waiting for us. I am starting to go insane and manicly googling to see when I can HPT but am resisting all temptation. I've only been waiting for 7 days - terrible. Feeling no symptons at all so not feeling good about getting a BFP but you just never know I guess. I have days of feeling positive but I think I'm scared to feel too positive in case it's a BFN. I'm sending love to the embryo though :-) feels silly but hey, worth a try!

Hey K78 - I am now at Pivet - had my first three attempts with Turner. Hollywood don't do donor so changed this year to one of the only two places I could find locally that did donor gametes.

Caved in and did HPT today -came up negative... not holding out much hope.

AF due tomorrow.

Chekigal isn't it too soon to do a HPT? Your test isn't til 6 May. I'm tempted to do one but not sure if it will be accurate as I'm not due for my BT til Monday and I may still have Pregnyl in my system. Had my last shot a week today. What do you think?

Well I caved and did a HPT! Couldn't help it. It's not looking good. One line extremely faint and one line really dark - if I was pregnant both would be really dark right? Is there still hope?? Official BT on Monday :-(

K78 - not too sure what all this means. I did a HPT that supposedly can pick up pregnancy 7-9 days after conception. Well I am now 10 days after we 'conceived' so I don't know.... people are telling me it's too early.

As for your faint line - it may be a good thing... I didn't have a faint line at all.... just one big fat negative line!

I did another HPT today which was also the day that I had my Pregnyl injection and came up with another negative - so no false positives here!!!! :shakehead:

Don't lose hope just yet, your BT isn't til next Wednesday so it really may be too soon to show a positive. I'm only 2 days before you and my line was EXTREMELY faint so leave it a couple more days before trying again. FX for BFP for both of us next week!
Take it easy and try and have a relaxing weekend...I'll be here to distract you (and myself) as needed!!

K78 - Your faint line could very well be a good sign! Don't loose hope yet.... I had the same thing happen with the first 2 pregnancy tests I did (from the same packet) and threw them out after a good cry as they looked like evaporation lines to me (unfortunately this can happen). I told DH and he got them out of the bin and said 'no, I think we may have something here.' He suggested we go and buy a different brand HPT.... we did and up came that 2nd strong line! :crossfingers: that it is a BFP for you!

Thanks so much girls, can't believe it's only one sleep to go! Excited and extremely nervous at the same time. Had a lovely day with family today and have just got home so it was a good distraction.
Chekigal - you are doing so well resisting the HPT but as you said, it really is too soon to show anything. I wish I had of resisted doing more because you get deflated or, get your hopes up and then worry how you will feel if it's all wrong and you get a BFN. Either way, life goes on, I just hope a baby joins us sooner rather than later (and for you too)! Good night, the countdown is really now on for you too xx

I was very good on the weekend and didn't POAS at all - but couldn't hold out today - I got a BFP - for the first time ever on any of my cycles.... a BFP!!!! OMG! I am excited, but trying to keep it in perspective that I may still have HCG in my body from my pregnyl injection.

I feel pregnant - I have sore sensitive boobs, have a growing stomach, have veins around my boobs, am five days late and today felt nuseaus (spelling?). I don't want to get my hopes up too high - but feel as though things may just be OK....

3 days to go....

Just popping in to see what has been happening in here - congrats Chekigal! You are two weeks past your transfer so surely this must be a BFP! I look forward to seeing your confirmation from your BT, but it sounds very positive! :)

I am starting to become so obsessed with pregnancy atm.
Just did another POAS - this time an extremely faint line on a Crystal Clear.
My positive one was on a Discover.

I believe you only need levels of HCG between 5-50mIU/ml.

Crystal Clear can detect up to 25mIU/ml, Discover 15mIU/ml.

I am still confused though, as I had a Pregnyl injection on Sunday.....

Unfortunately by BT result yesterday was a BFN even though my Crystal Clear HPT was a BFP on Sunday! So hard to deal with when that happens.
I said to the nurse it's odd that it's a BFN when my HPT the day before showed a BFP!!! She said that my BT did show levels but ones not high enough to sustain a pregnancy hence why it showed as a BFP on the HPT. SO the moral of the story is STAY AWAY FROM HPT! I'll never do one again.

Hey K78 - My BT is on Thursday..... will let you know how it goes - but I am not holding out much hope...

God these two weeks have D.R.A.G.G.E.D on....

I have found it awfully quiet in here :(

10hours and 30mins to final BT.... and then the L.O.N.G wait til the final results .... sigh...

Just a thought .... I have been attempting to 'cheat' the final result by using HPT's.... unfortunately this hasn't happened and I have ended up being just as unsure as what the final result will be tomorrow....

In saying this however, this is the only time when I have EVER got a positive result - even after injection Pregnyl and testing the next day....

The past IVF attempts were easier to handle a final 'BFN' result, as I hadn't got any positive results and therefore not expecting anything....

If I had to judge on the symptoms alone in this round of IVF, I would have the same expectancy rate for a positive result....

Finally, this forum has been a wealth of information and a great support - knowing that there are others going through the same issues at the same time has lifted that 'loneliness' and 'alone' feeling I've had in past IVF rounds.

What will be will be.....

Won't be planning another cycle for another 12 months - this will be final cycle.

Am disappointed - but I guess it is what it is.

Levels of hormones are high at the moment, so I need to go in on Saturday to ensure levels have returned to base amount on Saturday morning.

AFM - thanks for all of your kind words of support, it's been appreciated. I am feeling better now and just looking towards our FET which will be in June all going well. Woke up in the middle of the night last night with extreme cramping, not sure what it is? Must be my AF coming or the drugs finally leaving my system, not sure but it was awful. Hopefully won't happen again tonight. Going to have a few glasses of wine with some girlfriends tonight as my DH is on nightshift (and has been for the past 4 weeks)... Need some company

I received a call from the centre who asked me to do a second BT tomorrow - I don't know why and am feeling exhausted from the BFN yesterday. Anyone know why this may be the case?

Hi Chekigal,
Did you have any HCG in your first BT? If so, or if your progesterone is still high, they often like to do repeat BT's to make sure they return to normal so that there is no trace of HCG in your system which might later suggest an ectopic OR might be a very late implantation but not likely unless they made this suggestion. They should have told you about when you rang for your intial BT results that you would need another and why you would - either way I would be ringing to ask why you need the repeat, but I suggest this is likely the reason.

It ends up that I did have HCG in my system and you are right - they are looking for indications that there is no trace tomorrow (that is was only residue from the Pregnyl support injections).

I can't help but stress - it's my nature :)

Glad it gave you the answer that made sense - hope the BT today was OK - It's hard not to stress doing all this stuff, I try to stay calm but fail each time!

Chekigal - how did the 2nd BT go? I hope that everything is as all right as it can be under the circumstances.

AFM, 3 more days to my BT. It is hard to wait, but on the other hand I almost don't want the day to arrive b/c I know that I'll likely have a BFN and want to live the dream a little longer before it gets crushed. For the same reason, I haven't gotten up the nerve to POAS yet. I've had some symptoms -- nausea, cramping like AF for the past few days (but no AF has arrived), headaches -- that could potentially be pregnancy symptoms . . . but they are also listed as side effects of the Crinone, so I know that I can't count on them. Also, I usually have a 26 day cycle, and today is CD27, with no sign of AF. But I don't want to get my hopes up since I have no idea if the IVF has changed my cycle somehow. Have any of you found your cycles to lengthen while you were on Crinone or any of the other drugs? I don't want to take anything for granted since I realize all the drugs can play such havoc with our systems.

The 2nd BT showed that I was in fact pregnant - but at levels so low there was no way that I could sustain the pregnancy.
They were right - m/c yesterday.
