Very normal Nataloosh! I remember after my first transfer, I needed to wee as they were taking me back to get changed and I said "am I even allowed to got to the toilet" the nurse chuckled and said most definitely!
Yep I agree Nataloosh it's totally normal! My clinic does ultrasound guided ET and you have to have a very full bladder so as soon as the catheter was out I had to run to the loo. I have everything tightly cossed that your embryo is super sticky! Did you end up with any for the freezer? X
Yep Nat you can go back to normal activity after. My FS tells me to go and have a nice breakfast and a coffee! Just no exercise or heavy lifting! How important is the US guided ET girls? My clinic doesn't use it and I've often wondered how important it is?
Glad to hear that I've done nothing wrong by getting up straight after the egg transfer. I just don't want to do anything to jeopardise my chances - I may be a little paranoid! So I started with 18 eggs retrieved, 15 mature enough for icsi injection, on day four I had eight looking 'really good', but today the embryologist said that they couldn't freeze any today as they had 'spaces' which they want to divide and fill up more so that they can't be damaged by the freezing process... Was very confused, so I asked how many I'd have to freeze on day six (tmrw) and they said many 1 or two or maybe none at all! Was shocked as they kept telling me that they were progressing super well and looked great... Thanks for all the well wishes ladies!
Glorious - congratulations!!! Really happy for you. Enjoy this very special time.
Unfortunately this can happen Nat.
On my first round I had 15 eggs and on day 5 only had 2 morulas which we transferred back and none to freeze. Ours slowed down in growth on day 4 too. Its so frustrating I know. We had 20 this time and 15 fertilized. We had 11 frozen on day 3 which looked really good. So I'm hoping when we thaw them out to day 5 that we don't have same issue. Did you have a blastocyst ET today?
Yes, I had a blastocyst transfer today, but they said they wouldn't have been able to freeze this one either as it had some spaces in it as well. They said it wouldn't be a problem for a fresh transfer, but the small voids where the cells hadn't packed yet can cause pressure when freezing and thawing leading the embryo to distort. So they are giving those left another day or two to see if they make it to a level for freezing... Fingers crossed.
Although I haven't started with any assisted conception yet, can I still jump into the tww with you guys? This is probably one of my last natural cycles before we start ivf. I'm pretty sure I'm 1dpo today, I have everything crossed that we get lucky
Thanks ladies! It's been a true blessing being able to have the support and advise from other women going through the same thing. Honestly, I really don't think I could have done it without you guys, so thank you!
