    Hi guys,

I've been away for a couple of weeks following yet another BFN in early December.

    Can you please help me?

I'm tired of just being put on the ivf conveyerbelt so I have made an appointment to see my FS in order to ask questions and check if there is anything else they can test on to help determine if we are missing any unresolved issues.

When I first started on IVF in 2004, the only tests I can remember them doing is a blood test on me and a sperm check for my husband. I have unexplained fertility - but surely there has to be a reason so I want to go armed with questions/possibilities? I just want to know if I can actually have them? You can't move onto adoption in Australia without first giving up on fertility treatments and I'm not quite ready to give up just yet.

Can you tell me what other tests you have done and any outcomes/changes in treatment?

    Thanks in advance.

Currently in a 2ww on a natural cycle - but not holding out much hope.

possums - thanks also i dont know if i have congratulated u yet! but congrats! u give me so much hope! also have u heard from Bel, you know the one with the twins she hasnt been on for a long time and im worried about her! if u see her in the Preg after LTTTC please tell her i am thinking of her!

Murph- wow im really hoping for u! i know how u feel i havent tested with a preg test yet and im on CD25 and that is unusual for me! i will be waiting until im past the latest ive ever been which is 32 days. good luck to you and let us know how it goes!

TLO - hi there! and i dont think u should give up yet at all! i cant believe they didnt test u further, im a student RN specialising in fertility and there are MANY more u need and even your husband should have, for example u should get a laproscope and a monitored cycle to see if u ovulate naturally, that is unless that has been established you should get a BT on CD 10 or 11 to test for hormone levels, DH should also get his hormone levels tested, My DP did about 2 months ago, Also i know its a yucky one but u should both get tested for All STD's as u just never know and it rules that one out! there are also BT's for blood clotting factors which can prevent implatation and also you should check for rubella imunity, thats important too, there are many other more complicated ones but thats that basic ones for when u get started with IVF, i have my 1st FS this year and I will be gettin all of these, also DP should get another semen analysis done as it can vary widely from month to month! I hope this helps, the book "fertility for dummies" is quite good it outlines all the basic tests in there and what to ask the FS. GOOD LUCK!!!

AFM- im experiencing sharp pains in lower left uterine area, ive never had this before its hurting quite a bit, im a bit worried, anyway we will know in a few sleeps! also before every AF I always get one sore nipple, the left, the left one is ALWAYS sorer or more sensitive than the right, does anyone else experience this?

Hey again. thanks for the thoughts Mollygirl,Poss and 21...I thought you'd all ignore the crazy rant Well I can't give in to POAS as I have none and live out of town. I did one on about cd28 just so that I could put all doubt out of my mind and take control. when I saw absolutely no hint of a pg, I thought I'd move on and forget it but remembered Dusty tested neg 3 times before bt confirmed pg.

That's what's doing my head in... I really think I'm gonna hold out and wait until I know I'm really late. I even tested neg on my ovulation tests when I was due, then I tested 3 more times over the following days and can you believe, out of three goes, I forgot three times to check the result and killed the test well it doesn't hold the same anticipation as the preg test does it...ooops! I did manage to check the result for the preg test and definitely negative, no faint lines. DH is a bit hopeful now though, as he knows I'm a bit overdue and is allowing the creeping excitement so maybe tomorrow we will weaken but i doubt it.

    Thanks, I'll let you know...

Hey 21&tcc, so sorry I missed your post lastnight. I must have posted at the same time as you. You poor bugger....how did you go? I'm keeping everything crossed for your You should get a clear reading shouldn't you, as you're not on any drugs or anything yet, how could it be a false positive? Ooh I hope you have a computer at home and let us know this weekend.

AFM, I'm out. the witch arrived stealthily and without warning but she's making up for it now and I'm just gonna sulk a bit in bed before facing the day. DH is a bit bummed too,but we'll join the back of the baby-go-round queue and jump back on next month.

Good luck to all the waiters,
    Ange

AF is supposed to be due on monday so time will tell, and i dont take any meds so i think it should be trustworthy, im still not getting overly excited though!

Sorry no personals, just want to share my coping strategy for yesterday (killer AF, disappointment and PMT...yay!):

    No tears, just:
    1 large block of chocolate
Copious amounts of favourite music...Billy Bragg (for those old enough to know), Bob Marley and John Butler Trio played on repeat and very loud in my car while driving to get said chocolate!!
A few glasses of favourite bevvy (Malibu and ...anything) oh and pain killer of choice
and last but not least, a trip to the library and a fabulous day long book binge on the day bed .....ahhhh, I feel half human again
