Hi Mary,
I have the HCG trigger injection a day before my IUI, to stimulate ovulation. Some other people also have HCG boosters in the luteal phase (the two weeks from ovulation to AF, when progesterone is leading) to help support the luteal phase. Do you have any HCG shots?
-
Mary - I have HCG shots after my IUI, my clinic does them as standard for all IUIs. Hcg is just to try and encourage the body to produce the right hormones to optimise environment for pregnancy. Plenty of other girls dont have/need the hcg injections tho. Depends on what your doc thinks about what you need specifically.
Alicia - hi again ! I'm :crossfingers: for a BFP result for you this cycle. It's so hard with the whole symptom thing. I get down about the AF symptoms too, but then I also hear of girls who feel like AF is coming and it ends up being a pregnancy. so confusing !
Sonya - I'm with you girl, also feeling vaguely AF type symptoms. Also see comments above - I've heard heaps of girls on BB say they'd swear AF was coming but then it just never did. :SAAF: :SAAF: !!!!
Hi everyone else :hello: - BFP vibes to all!
Well my doc appt today with my new FS went well and we agreed on an IUI plan for next month. (my old FS left the clinic so had to change docs). He agreed to my suggestion of a BT/scan a day earlier than last time because I’d worried that they triggered me when I was already about to O any minute (by the follicle size) - and I later thought maybe we’d missed the :egg: at the time IUI was done 43 hours later. So next cycle I start with FSH 50iui as like before and go from there... So all good for a plan!
Unfortunately I’m feeling vaguely crampy today (cd26) so AF is most likely on her way, which seems such an unfortunate waste of the two :egg: :egg: I managed this month! :wall:
-
Mary - I had one shot of HCG as a trigger 40hrs prior to IUI procedure. So mine was as an ovulation trigger shot.
Sharon - I think my IUI was too late as well, I am dead sure I O'ed the day before transfer so I am hoping for a better result this cycle as well. Don' worry about wasting eggies, I'm in the same boat this cycle too lol... Hoping that AF stays away and lets those eggies win the day :)
Alisia - I am sorry you feel the same as I do, its rather depressing really. I hope that you get a chance to be wrong about it though, it would be a lovely surprise for us all. Those triggers are awfully tricky with mind games I think.
Nellie - Its awful thinking about it all the time, quiet weeks at work are so bad for that. Hoping you can find a nice thing to keep you occupied for the rest of the week.
And thank you all for the nice thoughts...
-
Thanks Alisia, Deni and Sonya.
I have only had it to trigger ovulation. So I was curious to hear of other people having it during their luteal phase. I have been going to see a chinese herbalist/acupuncturist to improve my progestorone levels post ovulation. Recent cycles indicate this has worked in a way...I start spotting before AF alot later than I used to.
I hope the crinone gel does its job!
-
I'm feeling a bit funny about AF coming too... I had really sore breasts over the weekend but now they feel normal, just like preAF... I'm not feeling hopeful AT ALL and just wish this TWW would end either way! I am feeling pretty emotional today which hasn't happened for a while, maybe my body is preparing itself for something... who knows? but I have heard that alot of women get preAF symptoms then they get a BFP.... I pray that is true for all of us in the TWW!
I've had the Pregnyl trigger 36hrs pre IUI to bring on ovulation too. It would have been a few days before I would have ovulated naturally so I hope it did its thing at the right time.
I'm thinking why they hell shouldn't it work? The timing is supposed to be perfect and the sperms are the most potent of all and we have no known fertility issues...so why the hell wouldn't it work? It's got me dumbfounded! and we have nice healthy progesterone levels too....
Anyway I hope all the new TWWers don't have too long a wait... AF is due tomorrow or Thurs for me but hoping it takes a holiday for 9 months....
Good luck everyone else, we need to get more BFPs out hey?
-
Hey ladies
I will be joining you in the tww in 2days
I have to have my pregnyl shot tonight and will have iui done thursday morning after dp sperm gets washed. I have 2 eggs waiting for me so with any luck we will get bfp this month. this will be our 4th attempt at iui
i hope that af stays away for you all and you all start growing some nice big belly's:dance:
take care
-
Good luck mummy2 :goodluck:
WenJ - :SAAF: vibes for you too!
girls I just opened a new thread on pregnancy discussion about AF symptoms before BFP and already there's quite a few responses. So keep hopes up everyone (that's to myself as well!) and think BFP thoughts
-
Morning Everyone
Well I am only at #3 of the TWW & am just trying to look after myself to give the little one the best chance of sticking.
MaryT - I had a "Trigger" injection 36hrs prior to EPU also. Now I have the lovely crinone cream for the TWW!
Well girls, good luck to you all - hopefully some of our TTC journey's will be ending very soon, looking forward to some good results.
Have a great day.

Hi all,
Mary, have you heard of Vitex? It's a herb (agnes castus (sp?)) and supposed to be a really good for regulaing the luteal phase and also progesterone support. There are a few threads on BB about it, maybe use the search for 'vitex'? Some people can't take it, I can't because of the PCOS, but talk to someone about it, it might be just the thing for you if you need it.
Deni, I so hope this it is for you this month!!!!!!! Will check out that thread and hopefully might give me some hope... though also hopefully not too much. The disappointment of AF after the TWW is crushing.
S'rose & WenJ ... I hope you're wrong about your feelings too! I have heard that some people swear that AF is coming, and they are pregnant, which is so hard, because I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but then am more excited at the same time. :S very frustrating and yes very depressing as well.
WenJ... I feel the same as you... why isn't this working?!?!?!? The conditions are perfect, ovulation right at the time of the IUI, washed spermies so they are all strong and ready to go, surely it should work! I guess it will one day, like they say, even with fertility treatment it can still take 6-12 goes to get pregnant.
mummy2, goods luck!!! Will send you some fertility vibes for tomorrow morning!
Peta... good luck!
And good luck to anyone I missed, hope we gets lots of :bfp: this month!
Me: 12/13DPO (depending if you believe me or FF lol). Well, its gotten the better of me. Scrutinising all possible symptoms. Only one really, aside from the peeing loads, which I've decided isn't a good enough symptom to look out for, and thats some horrible nausea. Last night, it hit me and I was so close to losing my dinner  but fought it off. But geez, it just came on so quick I didn't even realise what was happening! One minute I was extremely hungry (and I had just finished dinner) and then *wham* wanted to spew. And again this morning, I woke up ravenous, and now I'm close to spewing what little I have my my stomach. *BLEH*
Still lots of AF-like cramps though, and I keep expecting AF any second, but nothing yet. BBs are a little sore, but that could just be AF too. My skin is really oily, another AF sign. Not too emotional now, so that didn't last long, but it was still there which is also disappointing. Am dying to do a test, but I don't think I could bare to see a :bfn: ... I hate seeing that stick with only one line. Though whenever I do a test, AF comes that day, so maybe I can just do it and hopefully AF will come so we can start the next cycle.
-
Good luck leesha.. I know it's hard to not get too excited... we SHOULD be getting excited when TTC but when it's quite a long way down the TTC road it gets harder each time with the disappointment. When is your scheduled BT ?
For anyone on HCG injections in their luteal phase, I really recommend NOT testing with a HPT. I'm so glad I didn't test last IUI cycle for me, because my luteal phase was 5 days longer than usual, and I started to get my hopes up, and if I'd done a HPT it woudl have definately been (falsely) positive, but would have been the hormones left over from the last injection (as my BT was a bfn)- so hold out if you can !!
But if you're not on the injections then you're much more likely to see a true result.
:crossfingers: everyone ...
-
Hi deni, I have an appt. with th dr on Friday, and I think he's just goin to say "if you don't have AF by Monday have the BT then" like the last two times, but I've never gotten to have the BT cos AF had already arrived. So sometime between Friday and Monday, probably Monday.
Since you are doing this cycle naturally do you have a BT scheduled from your dr? When will it be?
-
Hi Everyone
I haven’t been posting very much but have been reading everyone’s posts. Congratulations to everyone that has gotten their long awaited BFP yey!!!
As for me yesterday I went in for my EPU and got 5 eggs. I know that I should be over the moon but I am a little down as last time we got 14 eggs. Out of the 14 we got a Day6 blast with a BFN.
I have just found out that out of yesterdays 5 only two have fertilised. The clinic has advised me that they would like to transfer the two on Day 3 as they think they may be better put back earlier and they are trying to rule everything out. Has anyone had luck with Day 3 transfer?
-
HI Nat
I'm sorry to hear that you only had two eggies fertilise. Hopefully these are the winning two though (trying to look on the positive side)! I have just had a Day 3 transfer of one embie. My FS was very pleased with this as he said that the embie was growing very well & just how it should. We have 6 frozen ones to fall back on if this one doesn't stick (all 3 day, I think it's called Molcular or something like that). I always thought 5 day was better, but am happy to run with the experts.
Question for everyone (its a bit of a silly question, but anyway) - Because I don't O/AF myself & can't really remember any symptoms of AF, I don't really know what might mean BFP & what might mean AF, so if anyone has any definite symptos of BFP, it would be great to hear them. Silly huh? My hubby & I are not going to do any HPT, we are going to wait for the BT so symptoms would be a good interim indicator.
Take care all & rest up.
xo
-
Thanks Peta, Good Luck hope you get that BFP
-
Hi everyone,
I had my transfer yesterday so i am now an official 2 WW'er. So fingers crossed for all of us going through this. This is my first cycle.
Claire
-
There are quite a few of us in here now enduring the TWW!
Only 4 days to go till the blood test for me. I say only, but gosh time is dragging for me.
Is anyone else doing anything special to try to keep their minds off the TWW
-
Nelle, is your BT Monday? I'll keep you company cos mine is too if AF doesn't arrive before hand (I will be 17/18 DPO). I went and bought a cross-stitch on Monday, so I am doing that in between studying for exams. Good luck!
Good luck to Nat and Claire as well!!!!!!! Fingers crossed for some :bfp:
Peta... I wish I had some definitive signs of a BFP... unfortunately, all BFP symptoms are so much like AF symptoms, that its hard. Like right now, i am having cramping and mood swings... Could be PMS... could be AF  Very frustrating!!!!!!! Wish there was something, like my hand turning green, to let me know if i am pregnant or not! I am holding off on doing the HPTs as well, at least, until Monday. If AF isn't here by Monday morning, I am doing a HPT (I'll be CD36, 17/18DPO).
Me: today I am 13/14DPO (again, depending on if you believe FF!), FS appt. tomorrow, still not sure if what I am feeling is AF or a :bfp: coming my way. Pretty sure its AF. Hate his waiting!
Oh I have a question. Indulge in my imagination. Look at my temp chart and tell me if you think CD27 looks like implantation? I'm now focusing on that in hope that I am pregnant! LOL.
How is everyone else doing? Any more :bfp: 's?
-
I will be 17DPO on Monday too leasha. Glad that I have someone to wait with!
I can't help much with the BFP symptoms either. Firstly, because I have never had a BFP, but from what I have read (as leasha said) it seems most BFP symptoms can also be AF. Cramping, bloating etc.
I am 13DPO today, and I am experiencing a lot cramping at the moment, but I think that it is just because of the lovely Crinone. Other than that, I haven't felt anything.
-
Hi Girls
i was wondering which of you have had day 3 transfer on this cycle?
Got to love that Crinone Nellie, I just started it this morning
I know this may sound like a silly question but when should i start temping and should it rise?
-
Hi Nat... you should start temping day one of your cycle, first day of your period, and it generally goes down from CD1 until ovulation (because of high estrogen and low progesterone), and then rises (because of rise in progesterone). It'll fall just before you get your period, or stay high if you are pregnant. You can't really start temping halfway through a cycle because you don't really have a 'low' temperature to compare it too. HTH.
-
Hi Nat, I would honestly say, that for me at least, temping didn't add anything at all to my knowledge about what was happening with my body in the second half of my cycle. Sure I saw temp rises and dips etc, but I still was no further sure of anything really (maybe only the final very low temp which tells you that AF is impending, that's kind of useful to be emotionally prepared for AF later that day). Temping is useful to confirm you've O'd, but during assisted conception I guess the nurses tell us that anyway.
I've stopped temping as it was interrupting my ability to have a good nights' sleep.. I was dreaming about temping then waking up and wondering if I'd already temped yet, or waking up way too early to temp and not being able to get back to sleep. As frustrating as it is, I think just waiting out the TWW in total lack of knowledge is, frustratingly, the only thing we can do... I agree with Leesha, I wish our body had a clear "pregnancy" signal much earlier than two weeks past Oing !! Best of luck to you Nat.
BFP vibes everyone...
-
Thanks Girls, you have been a real help!! Knowing me i would stuff up the whole testing thing anyway. I have enough trouble remembering everything else through my IVF journey with nasal spray twice a day at 12hr intervals, purgeon every day trigger injection so i think i might give the temps a miss, I am too late in my cycle anyway
Good Luck Girls
-
Hi Gals, thought I'd come and check up on you all and say hi.
Even though not AC this month, have been trying naturally, so in theory am also in 2WW. Even though I doubt it will happen naturally. Would be a nice miracle.
I have been temping this month actually, just to see what happens. If anything I have held my temps high past ovulation for 12 days. Which my naturopath said 12 days after ovulation is good for holding a PG.
I am CD32 today, but normally AF visits between days 28-30. I am guessing that this is my first month break after AC TTC that my body is adjusting. Weird as have no symptoms of anything. Feel like have PMS but that's it. I dont even want to test, because I am sure once I get that negative result my AF will arrive. I am also willing my body to hold out until end of Fri, as have done the maths and the timing will work better for me to start another stim cycle before the year is out.
Anyway enough of my ramblings, but if anyone had late AF after stim cycle would be good to know. Its probably normal!
Good luck to all and sending you lots of sticky vibes and look forward to hearing about some BFPs
Mon :)
-
I am dying here... today has been the longest day of my life in this tww.
I am a regular 27 day cycle so tomorrow I would normally expect af, factor into this a hcg trigger shot and iui the day after temps indicate O.
So I go to AP tonight, coz he works on managing af so that no more endo can develop and I explain where things are at. So what does he do... sends me home again because my pulse is the complete opposite to what it is normally and I could actually be pg so I have to wait even longer to see if its true or not. arrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I am officially insane.
Sorry about the selfish rant!
-
Sonya, here's hoping that your AP is right :)

Quite a few of you girls are so close to BT time... :crossfingers: for BFP news for all of you !!!!
I'm off tomorrow noon for a weekend away with the girls.. will be good to keep my mind busy, though I'll still be doing my secret toilet checks and :SAAF: :SAAF: :SAAF: silent mantras .....
Is anyone due to know test results by Sunday? Hope I am greeted with some exciting news when I log in !
-
Hi all,
:bfp: and :SAAF: :SAAF: :SAAF: vibes for everyone.
I will come on here as soon as I know something and let everyone know! Good or (most likely) bad news...
14/15DPO... CD33... Well, I full expected to see AF this morning, but nothing, and no sign she is on her way anymore... I usually get a bit dry down there, but today I have alot of creamy CM (TMI I know, sorry!) and almost spewed my coffee out all over the floor it tasted so yuck so hopefully that is a good sign! I am not sleeping so great lately, very broken, dunno if its stress or something, but I am so tired. I get up really early because I have to pee, and then can't fall asleep, its like I'm sleeping on nails! No, I'm not getting my hopes up... though my chart is VERY different to my last two...
First cycle
Second cycle
And my current cycle link is in my sig...
finger crossed! FS appt. today, and I am dying to test, but also scared out of my brains to. I want to know, but I'd rather not have to see that HPT with only one little line. I will test on Monday if AF i not here though. I'll be having the BT that day too, and I'd rather know before the clinic does... it's just something I would rather do.
But there is still time for AF to show, so I CAN'T get my hopes up.
-
Oh no you don't Alisia, you are not going to get AF, you chart looks a little like mine and I refuse to admit defeat just yet... Its still sounding positive and there are at least signs it can go your way. :SAAF: I know you can do it!!
Sharon - I hope this was your lucky cycle and that you girls weekend away brings up back a nice result. Will be thinking of you as I do the loo checks today as well.
Mummy2chloe - welcome to the tww, super news about the swimmers and I hope you can join us for a celebration in 14 days.
Mon - Can't help with a stim cycle sorry, but hopefully the answers come in the right vein for you very soon.
:hello: Nat, WenJ, Nellie, Curmon and anyone I have missed, my there are suddenly lots of us hanging out in here lol.
Well, I am hanging in there so far, but today is THE day, if I can get through today with no af, I may elevate my hopes just slightly, but for now have lots of cramping and back ache keeping me distracted.
-
Hi everyone - its Friday. Woohoo
S'rose - More waiting?!?! When do you get to go back again?
mummy2chloe - welcome to the TWW
deni - have a fantastic weekend away
leash - glad to hear that there is no sign of AF yet. I think that I am going to do a HPT on Monday morning too, just so I know what the BT might say.
And hi to all the other TWWers. Hope that you have great weekends planned, with lots of fun things to do to keep your mind off the TWW.
-
Hi all
Just quickly popping in to say AF arrived today and bot BFN yesterday so its all over for this cycle...
Feeling pretty deflated..... Will check in next cycle in my TWW...
-
Wen sorry about your AF showing hun. Its hard some times.
Hope your BFP come real soon.
Good luck all!!!
-
Well ladies, I was admitted into hospital yesterday with OHSS. Its a weird story how it all happened. After my transfer on Tuesday I was told to have injection of pregnyl on wednesday but to have a blood test first to confirm what dose. I have to drive 1hr to get my BT done and I wait at my friends place for the results. So when I rang for the results I was told my levels were high and not to have the pregnyl shot but to come up to Sydney (another 1.5 hour drive from BT location) to pick up some crinone. So with only the clothes on my back I slept at my friends place and drove up to the clinic the next day. I was feeling a little sick but nothing worth complaining about. Once I arrived some more blood was taken and I was not told to stay in the clinic till the results came back. Next second results are in and FS is with me telling me I am going to be admitted. She did explain that if i lived closer she would have allowed me to go home....but living 2.5 hours away she didnt want to risk it. Plus if I presented at my local hospital they would not have the knowledge to deal with OHSS. So i was on bed rest, had to do a fluid balance and was given a blood thinning medication. My BT this morning gave me favourable results and was allowed home, with strict instructions and a whole heap of notes just incase I have to go to the local hospital. So another BT on Monday, and will continue right up until my pregnancy test on the 5th. So thats my eventfull 48hours or so.
I will keep you all updated and good luck to all of us on this amazing journey we are sharing together
Claire
-

-
Claire, you've handled that situation so well. The way you've written it makes it just seem like a blip on the radar, although I'm sure it felt much more serious than that. Good on you, and good luck.
-
WenJ - So sorry hun, but if its any consolation I am out too, I'll meet you back here in just under a couple of weeks hun.
Good luck to those remaining.
-
Hi everyone
Still hanging in...I am at day 23...9dpo. I have been experiencing AF symptoms on and off the last few days, but last night I experienced something new.
In my previous cycles with crinone gel, when I started spotting before getting AF, it would be pink clag like ... icky!!!!
Last night, I got up to go to the loo...becoming a more and more frequent occurance, and when I wiped I had heaps of CM - egg white consistency but it was light pink. I thought I was ovulating and spotting at the same time!
Has anyone had this before?
Sorry to hear it didnt work this time Sonya and WenT (sorry if I missed anyone).
Good luck to those still in there.
-
Hi ladies and Rols!
Just wanted to pop in and see how people are going.
WenJ and Sonya - sorry about your BFN's. I'm hoping it's a BFP for you, and everyone else doing the TWW thing v.soon!
BEST OF LUCK!
Arielle
-
I am out too... went to FS appt. and their pregnancy test was negative, I had a scan which showed that I didn't ovulate, and that the follicl had become a really large cyst, and he said this was why i felt funny. Now I just have to wait for AF to come... *sigh*
Not realy in the mood right now for personals. Congrats to those who got a BFP. Good luck to everyone waiting. Sorry to all those who had AF arrive.
-
leasha0986 i am so sorry darl, be kind to yourself and know that we are all here for you
Sonya i am so sorry for you to darl, hopefully in a few weeks you will be back in here and telling us that you have bfp
