I am currently on my 4th cycle with my FS but for the 2nd time in a row, it looks like this cycle might be cancelled
My first 2 cycles I responded to 100mg of clomid perfectly but last cycle my follicles got to 14mm (one of each side) and stayed that way for almost 2 weeks.
By the 3rd week they hadnt grown at all so my FS called off the IUI as they were way to small to even consider triggering.
He gave me primolut to start my period so I didnt have to wait out for my cycle to finish.
Now I am on CD17 of my current cycle and have taken 150g clomid days 2-6 and 50iu of puregon days 7-11. Had an ultra sound CD11 which showed 2x 10mm follies on the right and 1 13mm on the left, he and upped to 75iu days 12-15 and told me my IUI would be on Saturday (CD16) I had another ultra sound on friday CD15 to confirm the IUI date and I had 1x 10mm follie and 1x14mm on my right, and the left was still 13mm.
He told me to up the puregon to 100iu and come back on monday CD18 and he will decide from there if the cycle will be cancelled again
So even after all the drugs I am still not responding.
I have consulted Dr Google and found information that points to high prolactin levels interfering in FSH being able to do its job, so on Saturday morning I bought the biggest bunch of silverbeet I have ever seen in my life, soy milk and a big bag of walnuts, as well as zinc tablets in hope that by some miracle this will help me by monday (I know I know, not likely to happen, but im desperate )
Has anyone had no response to puregon before?
I just cant understand why I would ovulate fine on 100mg of clomid then just stop, and then not even respond to FSH injections...... I just feel like all the crappy side effects I get from clomid and all the little brown bruises I have on my tummy from the injections is all for nothing
I am really sorry to read of your problems. I know how frustrating it is
I don't respond well to gonal f, which is the same as puregon (although the few eggs I get seem to mature okay). I think there are just some people who do not respond well but there could be an underlying reason.
Have you had your Day 3 AMH and FSH levels done? That can be an indicator of how well you will respond.
Also, I would stay away from soy - it is not good for fertility. Instead, try full fat dairy. All the studies point to it being best for fertility.
Good luck! I hope your cycle is not cancelled and you get your long awaited BFP!
Im not sure what AMH levels are? but ive never been for a blood test on CD3 so im going to say no, they have never been done lol
I had a blood test this morning and I got a call just now from my FS's receptionist to say he needs to see me for a scan tomorrow morning, first appointment, its urgent apparently..... so fingers crossed my brain has decided to play the game!
Thanks for the tip about Soy milk... that little piece of information gives me an excuse to have ice cream more often!!!
