    Oh no! - **BIG TMI**

I have 1 friend who CONSTANTLY tells me that they tried for a year, and then she was told by a friend to raise her pelvis in the air for 10 minutes after DTD. I'm getting really desperate lately, so tonight, after DTD, I got DH to help me put my legs up against the bedhead and put a couple of pillows under my bum. Believe me, I may never get over the embarrassment

    *****TMI*****

However, 15 minutes later - I wanted to make extra sure - I got up, and there's a puddle on my pillow! I don't understand how that would happen - has DH got gravity-defying swimmers?!

Has anyone else done this successfully? OR, has anyone done this UNsuccessfully, so I don't feel like such a dork???

LOL, thanks MM! By hearing my friend talk, you'd think it was the ONLY way to get pregnant

EDIT - Thanks Mirabelle - maybe I should just put a plastic sheet down?

I have been doing this of late quite a bit...but for the opposite reason - to try and get labour moving. And each and every time I find I have leaked a bit, so I tend to put a towel down before DTD - I think it's the fact that when you lift your bum up, even if you have help, you are using some of your stomach/pelvic muscles to do so and they tend to push some of the 'good stuff' out

Hubby must have thought you REALLY loved him - some women put their husband's aftershave on their pillows.....you put a little bit of him on there Good luck with it all x

It is a very good theory actually. The idea is that with you hips elevated the semen pools at your cervix allowing more sperm to get where they need to go. One thing that a lot of people don't realise is that the semen is just the carrier of the sperm, once inside you, the sperm swim into your CM & are transported that way. So any leakage you have while it will still contain some sperm, it will mostly just be empty fluid IYKWIM.

    *TMI*.....
Do you know where your cervix is located babe??? Mine is more towards the front, so when trying, we use "doggy" position, with a pillow under my tummy. Afterwards, I lie down on the bed, butt in the air, for the little swimmers to travel down towards the front. I rarely have too much come out when I get up later......

Also missionary, with pillow under butt, so its already up high before ejaculation can help keep lots in too!!!

    hahaha oh dear.

DH gets spoilt when we TTC coz he gets to go first! Theory being that you get the swimmers in there, and then apparently when you go, the cervix dips into all the spermies and sucks em all up (hows that for technical speak LOL). We don't have toooooo much mess doing this. The other reason is also because I have to extract his swimmers before we get interrupted by a certain toddler who just doesn't sleep through! PMSL

We were TTC for 7 months, and I always did the bum in the air thing . My son, however, was concieved standing up in the shower so obviously it didn't work for us.
I think, everyones different and you just gotta try a few different things and see what works for you.
    Good luck

Wow, you'd think after 3 years TTC I woulda known that Thanks Sarah, that makes me feel better

TBH, I've only tried to find it once or twice, and never been able to reach. I wonder if mine is really high, as I've never had much success with tampons either, they never feel like they're in far enough, KWIM? I also have a retroverted uterus, so I think the cervix goes a different way...

LOL Liz - believe me, the dumber you say things, the more chance I have of understanding! I have heard that before, and I think thats where my problem is, because apparently with a retroverted uterus the cervix isn't actually dipping into the 'pool'.

Oh well, DH is happy to get some every 3 days, he doesn't mind helping me get my legs in the air! I'll just hafta remember a towel from now on

Really? I'm pretty sure mine's retroverted (had another ultrasound just recently... I'm pretty sure it said that). You mean DH was spoilt for nothing?? grrrr LOL. hmm.. well... it seemed to work for us.
