POAS before - due for BT in the 2WW

    Hi Ladies,

I am going crazy. I need help. I am due for a BT on Sunday (7th OCt), and had my last Pregnyl shot (1500units) last Thursday, so 6 days ago. I had started to to do a POAS test from Sunday evening and that was a slighty darker positive, but when I did a test yesterday and today, it was only a very very slight positive...you can barely see the line. I am getting a bit worried.

Have any you of ladies experienced this and when did you start testing ? It is very hard to stay positive now. I am getting very worried and scared.

    Kind regards,

Do you think that maybe the one on the Sunday evening was left over Pregnyl & the other lighter ones may be the real deal? I only had Pregnyl as my trigger shot so didn't have that problem, I tested at 13 days after the trigger, so 8 days post transfer & got a BFP then (and for the next three days going into the BT!).

Max, I think it's impossible to say for sure with it being so early. I tested BFN the day before my blood test - which was positive.

I'm hoping that this is the real deal for you.

Thanks Sarah_H and butterfly_warrior for getting back to me. I am addicted to testing so I know I am going to go crazy waiting for Sunday to arrive. It is not far, but you know what it is like. Butterfly_warrior: you have given me hope, that you got a BFN a day before your BT.
I just hope it works for all women who want a child so much, I hope to God that it works for women who are struggling and are desperately wanting babies.

Thanks once again for your help.

Further to the story of the BFN the day before the blood test... the day before that I got an extremely faint BFP. Now I'm talking extremely faint - could only be seen in strong light, DH claims to never have seen it. I intended to keep testing right up until blood test day, as I had very strong symptoms from 9DPO (4 days after my transfer). The BFN the day before the blood test killed those plans. I couldn't face looking at a pee stick on the day of my blood test, so left the last one. Despite getting to 8.5 weeks, that final HPT is still sitting in the bathroom cupboard. Maybe it will get used this cycle, maybe it won't.

    Pee sticks are evil!

Like Sarah I only had pregnyl for my trigger and I waited till about 12 days post transfer before caving in and poas. I got faint bfp's for 2 days before a positive blood test.

Pregnyl will leave your body at a rate of about 1000iu per day, so if your trigger was 5000iu, you can test on day 6 or 7 after EPU (though that's waaaaay too early to get a BFP, so why would you?) If you're using pregnyl for luteal support, then I believe it's usually 1500iu per shot, so you can theoretically test on the third day after each shot.

And I know of a former LTer who got a BFN on a HPT the very day she got a +ve on her BT, and she has a gorgeous little boy now from that cycle, so don't always believe that evil pee stick!

All you ladies are just so beautiful and supportive. Thanks for all your kind words. Back to being strong and positive again for cycle number 5. See how we go this time.
