    Question Provera and AF question

Hello there, i'm fairly new to this forum and i was wondering if someone could help me with a question about provera.

I am about to take my first course in order to bring on AF so that i can start clomid.

How long does it take to bring on AF? I have notes from my FS to take provera for 14 days if i need to bring on AF and that i should take clomid on day 2 of AF. Does AF start when you stop the provera and how long usually after? I have also read that some women have started AF while still taking provera.

I can ring my clinic as she said many ladies do as its so much to take in even though my dr wrote it all down for me! I just thought i'd ask what other people had found too.

HI hun - i can so sympathise with being daunted with the flood of info when starting AC - it's soooo much to take in - so hopefully i can be of a little help

From what i understand Provera is a med that increases your progesterone levels - when you stop taking the provera, your progesterone levels should drop and AF should start - i've had provera recently and was told AF should arrive within three to four days of stopping (on the dosage i was taking)

keep an eye on things though - i didn't get AF on first dose, so it was double - and even after double dose, i didn't have a visit from the witch! i'm an unusual "worst case" scenario - but i'd be checking with your clinic when they think you should be expecting AF, and if it goes more than a couple of days past that, i'd be following up with them
