    Puregon then Gonal F

I have had two cycles with Puregon but now for my third cycle ive been given Gonal F so im just curious to hear from other ladies who have used both Puregon and Gonal F. I understand that they are supposedly the same drug but i just want to hear if it affected anyone differently, eg. symptoms, outcomes, etc.

As I understand it they a very similar drug made by different companies. However, I personally under responded to Gonal F (it got cancelled) on my second stim cycle and refused to use it again as Puregon had worked better the first time.

However, it could have just been me that cycle, and I am not a good responder (hence why I am using donor eggs). I just didn't want to risk it again.

    Good luck!

    Hi Paula...

Did my first 7 cycles with Puregon and new FS switched me to Gonal for a change. Responded to them both pretty much the same way and produced btwn 5-12 eggs with all cycles. I don't find much difference between them with regards to side-effects..

    HI Paula,

Hope you are well. I did the 2 iuis with Puregon and found it made me very moody through both cycles. FS switched me to Gonal F for the IVF cycle and it was a breeze. NO moodiness at all. Both puregon and gonal f are the same drug just different manufacturers. I spoke with the nurse re the change in my mood and she said it may have something to do with the suspension products that the drug itself is mixed with. Some companies may change the solution slightly. But other than that no difference between the two.
