    REALLY need some advice

    Hi,

I posted on the TWW thread yesterday that AF flow had arrived and today I had my blood test done. My IVF nurse has just called to say I'm pregnant with an Hcg reading of 115 but the progesterone level won't be available until tomorrow. As you can imagine I'm in shock, as I'm experiencing heavy bleeding with clotting. The nurse said it's not an ideal situation to support a pregnancy so not to get my hopes up too much but to continue with the crinone. Has anyone ever experienced this? I'd really appreciate any advice as I'm quite anxious and I now have to wait another week for a second blood test. It makes the TWW seem easy.

    Thanks,
    Ali

firstly i want to say congrats sweetie, you did it, you are pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i have experienced the EXACT same thing

i got af on my due date, but was told i had to go do the bt anyway, so i went in had the bloodtest done, and to my suprise they rang me that afternoon to tell me that my hcg level was 101!!!! couldnt believe it, but my prog levels were only i think around 15, i was on crinone through out my tww, so they said to have 2 a day instead of 1.

well i continued to bleed for about a week, but in that week i was getting bt's done every second day, and with each bt i had done my levels were more then doubling, so we put it done to the fact that maybe i might get a period throughout my whole pregnancy or maybe only for the first few months, we just didnt know why i had bled?? but we had a scan a few weeks later and got to see our gorgeous little one.

i know its very hard what your going through right now, it is very stressful and very scary, but try and focus on the fact that you are sooooooo pregnant right now, you are a very clever girl and your levels are very good. hopefully this is just a little period and everything will be fine

if you need to talk i am always here ok

Thank you so much Cuddlepie and Mummy2chloe. It is such a difficult position to be in - I want to be excited but I just can't allow myself to get my hopes up. All I can do now is wait and try to stay sane.

It's wonderful to have the support of such caring people as yourselves and reassuring to hear your story M.

Thanks again and I'll keep you posted.

Just got my prog result - only 5.5. FS said to start taking two lots of Crinone daily but I'm not feeling very confident.

    Hello,
Congrats on your BFP and I wish you all the best for this little one haning in there. Just wondering if it is worth asking your FS about progeterone injections? I have not personally had them but I think some I remember reading posts by other girls that have.

    Wishing you all the best.

    Hi Farmgirl,

Thanks for your advice. I probably would look into it but the problem is I'm in the Far East of Victoria, so even if they could express post anything to me it would be almost time for the BT anyway. I'll just have to try the 2 Crinone a day and hope for the best.

    Thanks again,
    Ali

    Hi alipetrina

The low progesterone levels make sense why you are experiencing the bleeding. My FS explained that the progesterone is like the mortar that keeps the lining all together, if it is too low then the lining will break away (like you house bricks not having sufficient mortar to keep them together).

When I got my last BFP my progesterone was 88 and my clinic likes it to be a minimum of 100. So you 5.5 is very low, but you still have a BFP. As my transfer was an FET I started with 1 progesterone pessary a day 3 days prior to transfer and from result day I've had to increase the progesterone to twice a day until I'm 10 weeks (when the placenta kicks in). So still 1 more week to go until I stop the support, but if that is what's needed to keep everything in it's place then you just do it.

Fingers crossed the extra Crinone does the trick for you and your progesterone levels increase over the next week or so. As Farmgirl mentioned, have you asked about the progesterone injections? They might help get the levels up faster.

Hope all goes well for you.

    Thanks Kelly,

I also started the progesterone 3 days before FET, so it's disappointing that my levels are so low now.
