    Unhappy recurrent m/c and PGD

Hi I am a first timer. I recently suffered my 4th MC. Has anyone who has suffered a miscarriage gone on to use PGD. I would be interested to know. Thanks.

    Hi Tarolina,
Welcome to BB. I am sorry to hear about your losses.
Although I have not been through one myself, I understand it must be a hard time for you and your partner. I do recommend the Recurrent MC threads. I'm sure you'll get all the advise and support in there.
I look forward to getting to know you. Take care

    Hi Tarolina
Welcome to BB. I have had 3 miscarriages and we have had one cycle of IvF with PGD. If youpost in the Long term TTC forum I will come and chat with you there.

Hi Tarolina. I also had recurrent m/c and then went on to have a whole heap of tests with DH to find out the cause. It turns out DH has a translocation, and so went went on to use PGD, and were lucky enoughto succeed first try, and I am currently 26 weeks pg. Let me know if you have any questions, and I would be more than happy to answer them.

Thanks ELE for your response. Just wondering, when you found out DH had a translocation did you then go straight on to do PGD (was this recommended by your OB?) or did you try without assistance again?

We went and talked to genetisists, and genetic counsellors at both the Mercy and MIVF to help us come to our decision. It seems to be such a specialist area that OB's only really know the basics of PGD, rather than all the detailed ins and outs. We decided to start PGD, rather than trying again naturally, and having another m/c. Do you know why you have been advised that PGD is an option for you?
