Just finished our 2nd stim cycle and waiting for the next FET and wondering if it is worthwhile to try Sharkey while I am waiting?

Saw it first on TV and got on their website and thinking of order the initial consultation...anyone have any experience with them? especially if you are not in QLD and all consultation have to be via email/letter...how does that work? what information do they require?

And of course does it work? Love to hear your feedback...

I had bn tryin 4 a cpl of yrs & my well-known Gyno :doctor: in Melb said I had NO explained reason why I wasn't falling pregnant other than my age (he did a Lap), ... tried clomid & then he said my only option left ws IVF.

That night my younger sister mentioned had I heard of Ruth Sharkey. I said in a doubtful voice "yeh, saw something about her on a current affair show once or twice".
My sister said "Well, won't you give it a go & at least u can say u tried another avenue b4 considerin IVF".
I thought, well it doesn't cost anythin near as much as IVF. It's time I couldn't waste. So later that night back home in country Ballarat, Vic ... DP & I got on2 'their' website checked it out & thought yeh, let's give it a go mayb 4 about 6mths or so.

So, we online filled out the questionaire (did not leave out a single thing medically about myself) & paid by credit card the 1st consultation & herbal formula plus P&H.

In the mail I think a few weeks later (it can take up 2 21days) I received a very lengthly consultation letter from "Stacey Roberts" who was personally trained by Ruth, as Stacey now runs it as Ruth & her Hubby av retired.

Stacey had explained the reasons why I wasn't falling pregnant & OMG it made sense. She filled in so many gaps of information my Gyno :doctor: jst NEVER bothered 2 tell me.

Anyway, without goin in2 a long story. To put it simply I took my personally tailored Herbal Formula 5ml twice a day (plus Folate Tabs & I think Fish Oil Caps ??) ... 4mths later my cycle became a 28 - 29day cycle that it hadn't bn 4 ova a decade (that was a miracle within itself). Took my temp every morn & wrote it on a chart they provide u & along with any comments u may make about your well being mentally & physically. So, I went through about 5 bottles of Formula in total. U receive a consolation letter with every bottle... AND PRESTO 4mths later I WAS PREGNANT at 39

I'm over the moon 2 tell any1 my story ... Our beautiful, bright & healthy daughter is now 21mths old AND I turned 42 last mth & we av jst started our 1st Herbal Formula bottle this wk in the hope of givin our daughter a sibling !!

... I honestly av nothing BUT great things 2 say about the Ruth Sharkey's Healing Centre. No I av never bn 2 their clinic, I contacted them via letter or phone. (Though now u prob cld email 2 ??) They av a photo of my daughter in a frame I had made up which says " I LOVE BEING A HERBAL BABY ". I one day wld love 2 met all the staff & thank them in person & also 2 get a peek of my daughter who apparently has her special photo frame sitting in their foyer as u enter the clinic. They love knowin I'm "HER" Mummy !!

Hey Smiles, thank you so much for taking the time of sharing your story, what' a wonderful experience and brilliant result. That gives me a lot of hope.

I also have unexplained infertility, don't you hate that? I always think that I don't have time left for herbal things to work out as it is too slow, well, 2 cycles of IVF down, I think I've tried my hardest and now if fate is going to smile to me, it probably doesn't care through what form...I am actually more relax now and less care about the ultimate result, if it happens it happens..and I am willing to try something different even if it might takes a while (hey 4 months for you is not long at all)...

Can you also tell me if the questionare is ok for us to fill in or require your GP or FS's help? I think I am going to order one soon...

Incase my story may av bn confused ... On the 4th mth of takin my herbal formula ws wen my cycle became a 28 or 29th day cycle AND another approx 4mths of my cycle like that & then I became pregnant. So, I ws takin the Herbal Formula 4 about 7 or 7&a bit mths !!

Thought I mite add a bit of another story 4 u or any1 else 2 read ... I found out I had a growth in my uterus this past xmas & the specialist my GP referred me 2 happen 2 b an IVF specialist. My GP made it very clear on our referal letter that we were not interested in doin IVF but we wld b open 2 any other suggestions (even tho we had tryin the herbal formula again in our mind).

... To DP & my shock & horror this GYNO said to me at our appt this past January that 'I av a slim chance of fallin preg, even on IVF'

Then he rail road us in2 feelin we had no othr alternative other then IVF. He didn't even want 2 talk about clomid. Also he kindly mentioned 2 me he ws turnin the same age as me (42) this yr & I don't kno why he felt 2 mention he has children (u notice not child BUT children). I sort of did not want 2 hear that on that particular day

He checkd my results from a recently internal ultrasound & decided on the spot 2 do 1 himself.

... And guess wat he said everythin ws fine, I had no probs of any kind. AND my growth that ws found earlier is of no prob or concern.

So, we walked out $175 poorer wt paper wrk 2 go ahead wt IVF that we were not interested in doin & an absolute mountain less of HOPE in our hearts.

DP & I felt so stressed & disheartened wen w got hm.

We looked at each othr & said "Wat the hell jst happend". We didn't expect that.

DP & I decided if the GYNO in his words said I av a slim chance then why don't we DO wat we DO kno has worked 4 us b4 ... Ruth Sharkey's here we gladly come again for our 2nd round 4 baby love

THAT NITE we filled out the questionare on line & paid. AND as U kno I started my herbal formula this week.

I felt so welcomd back & I saw my GP the other day & she looked horrified 2 kno wat that damn GYNO said. As she understands 2 build your HOPE back up is not an easy thing.

So, I'm gonna de-stress myself from any negativity that has bn thrown at me & I decided like u said BEIBEI I can only give it my best shot.

Any positive thoughts I'm willing 2 suck in & absorb ... Yeh, throw em my way as I gladly invite em

I kno that many women av had babies wt the help of the Ruth Sharkey's Healing Centre & they av bn older then me. Now, that gives me som hope within itself.

MINNIEMOUSE, I av heard a itty bit about u on a post some1 that ur doin it as a single woman. My friend in Sydney went about the same way (tho not IVF) & she & her son av an amazin relationship. No father figure in his life & he is no less missin out on anythin as he is jst as beautiful as any child & avin a wonderful & fulfillin life wt his Mum like any regular kid wld.

... To be honest if I had not met my DP wen I did at 36, I can honestly say I ws plannin 2 do the same as u & my sister ws supportive of it & said she wld also consider goin it solo

A relationship wt your child & bein a Mother is NOTHIN 2 compare 2 avin that wt a partner as such. They are two totally different worlds

yes I am going it alone and it's really tough going..if you know what I mean.
I am using a known donor and he wants to be part of the childs life and this makes me very happy.
I am having an FET in the next week or 2 and if this doesnt work am seriously considering Sharkeys. I am kind terrified of having a break from ivf so really have to think about it.

Hi smiles, I've read Ruth Sharkey's book and also been doing some research in natural herbs that would boost conception. I wonder if she uses the same herbs that are in the market. also can you give me a rough clue about how much does it cost to try her bottles? I know to get pgn is pricelsss but also need to make sure I can afford it. Thanks for any response on this.

I can't remember what my intital consultation cost was a few yrs ago ?? But I know 4sure each consultation as u go goes down $5 from the previous consultation cost.

... but each Herbal Formula bottle is $55 (hasn't gone up at all since havin my bub from the 1st round of herbal formula few yrs ago, ... which I thought ws so G8). Regular Postage & handling is about $10.50, will take up to 21days 2 b received in the mail. I'm sure U can choose 2 pay extra for express post ?? or MAYB that's registered post I'm happy 2 say I av neva had a bottle go missing or astray in the post

Smiles - don't you think it's a little strange that they happily take your money without ever even talking to a herbalist? Am getting a little funny about the situtation. I mean if I lived in Brisbane, they would see me and charge the same. This way they want to charge 'consultation' - which they havent done except to read a piece of paper? Then charge for herbs and then charge for sending them.
I know you had great success...and I know I shound't be so cynical...but...

You CAN VISIT the centre !!

There is nothing stating that you can't

It's not all via email or phone call, obviously if you are interstate or overseas it makes it a little hard to visit THEM as they ONLY have a centre in Queensland.

*** I actually found your post a little upsetting to me as it came across negative rather than positive

Silly me thought that us woman would be supportive of each other no matter how we personally try to go about getting pregnant, etc...

I have clearly stated in my other posts that I have started my herbal formula last week in the help of trying for another baby. I am 42 and I am trying to keep positive as well. I have never stated that the herbal formula is some sort of miracle cure in falling pregnant and I myself have never hear anyone mention that IVF or any other form of going about falling pregnant is either.

I kindly opened myself up and posted my story to answer a question that a fellow BB member had asked (I did not post a Thread) and also for anyone that might be interested in reading my story like most people that get on here and tell their baby story.

It would break my heart if a BB member was going through or about to emark on IVF and received a negative response from another member. OMG, to me that is unspeakable !!

My best friend had her daughter through IVF due to her own medical problems. She at present is going through IVF again for another child and I am there for her amongst every emotion and I am there for her as long as it takes and every step of the way to do all that I can to HELP her.

I have clearly mentioned I have NO medical problems or concerns as such other than the fact I am an older woman.

I chose to go about finding another route in helping me fall pregnant, I am intitled to my own personal choice like any other woman !!l

At the end of the day we choose as individuals how we are going about having a child to call our own.

*** My apologies to anyone that may have wanted to ask me any questions about my own BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE with the Ruth Sharkeys Healing Centre as I truely can't put myself at risk and receive such a negative post from another BB member just as I have experienced today.

I don't need any negativity or stress as you can imagine at this point in time in trying to fall pregnant again at the age of 42.

All I can say is I'm an incredibly kind, loving & generous person with many wonderful people in my life.
And I feel saddened that I can't go about helping anyone out there that might have wanted to know more of my experience

As I myself BEFORE going through Ruth Sharkeys Healing Centre went through years of miscarriages and heartache

I am also 42 and unlike you do not have a child.
I have already paid for my herbs because I am willing to try and explore all avenues. (I have also been doing IVF for some time)
I fully admitted to being a little cynicaI but I have a questioning mind and like to verbalise and 'discuss' my thoughts, nothing more sinister. I have always appreciated everyones thoughts and opinions here on Belly Belly and I think you really took my post the wrong way and apologise profusely if it upset you. It was certainly not my intent.....at all!!!
We are all here for the same reason and it would never occur to me to act with malice towards another BB member infact this post just made me cry I am so upset. I hope we can put this down to a terrible misunderstanding.

i wanted to wish you all loads of luck and best wishes whatever path you choose. i have a family friend who tried for many many years to fall pg (unexplained IF) and she fell pg with her DD while using the Sharkey's formula.
