    Post Side affects of Chlomid

    Good morning everyone,

I recently had a laparoscopy which uncovered endometriosis and they lasered it off. We feel so relieved to know there was possibly something causing our infertility. My gynaoe has now recommended getting me onto Chlomid to regulate my cycles as the next step in our journey.

Just wanting to hear from anyone who has taken Chlomid and whether you've had any of the many possible unwanted effects it can bring....

We're 98% sure we want to go down this track, just looking for some first hand experiences!

My advice would be to definately give it a go. I did 5 cycles of clomid before moving on to IVF (unfortunately clomid was never going to address our problem, blocked tube and severely damaged ovary which was discovered later during a laparoscopy).

I did have some side effects: headaches, nausea but that's about it. I never had the hot flushes which i've heard are the worst!

In any event, it's really not bad and you only take it for 5 days.

Good luck! I hope it works for you.

i had a few hot flushes - but nothing too dramatic - and maybe a headache or two (but i can't recall for sure, so they can't have been too bad!). some people have had really nasty side effects, but not too many of us.

if doc asked me to take it again, i wouldn't have an issue with it (just wish it had worked for me!!)

I had really bad mood swings on it which drove my husband (now ex) insane. I didn't use it for long but fell pg 3 months after coming off it.

I had next to no troubles with Clomid (I did 4 cycles, but DH was unexpectedly unavailable for the 4th round )
I got a couple of headaches, but i am prone to them and a bit of moodiness, but that could have been attributed to the apprehension of taking the drugs and waiting etc.
I also had great results in terms of ovulation and folly numbers.

    Hi
Just thought i would throw in my 2 cents worth as well.. I have been on clomid for 12 months now and i get quite a few side affects i find they dont kick in until about the 3rd day of taking it and go away 3 days after stopping. I get the hot flushes and mood swings crying hysterically one minute and then yelling at DH the next minute and become quite clingy for a couple of days too.

and then some months im fine and i keep taking it so its not too bad!

    Good luck

    Hi!
I am about to start my third clomid cycle. I have done 50mg and 100mg and haven't O'd.

I have had the hot flushes but not too badly. I also get headaches but I am prone to them too. I do get a bit emotional and cry and get a bit clingy to my DH.

    Good Luck

I have been on clomid for 4 cycles now this being my second on 150mg after only ovulationg on 150.I had horendous headaches and hot flushes..mood swings that were pretty wild sometimes. I started seeing a chinese herbalist on my 3rd cycle first at 150mg. With herbal treatment I got no side effects what so ever and nor have I this time..I am positive its a combination of herbs and higher does that I ovulated.
If only we were all the same in this department life would be so much easier.
Good luck with the clomid I would say give it a go for sure.

I did 6 cycles of Clomid, and had a few hot flushes, particularly early on, and not too much after that. Except really bad period pain! I've never had it before, but then I wasn't o'ing before either so I'm not sure what caused which! I o'd every cycle on 50mg, but unfortunately bfn due to having broken tubes.

I have taken 50mg and 100mg of clomid, conceiving on the 4th cycle with Caitlyn and 6th cycle with this pregnancy. My worst side effect was some nausea and fatigue in the first cycle which was corrected by taking it at night. I also got the hot flushes but they were manageable when I took clomid just before bed around 10pm - then they occurred after 5am which was better than 2am!!!
