Sydney IVF Day Surgery procedure

We are scheduled for a procedure (laparo)at the Sydney IVF Day Surgery.

Just wondering if anyone has been there.

Should we drive or just catch a taxi for the trip home?

Sydney IVF is on 321 Kent street, heart of CBD, so parking always gonna be difficult unless its before 8am. There are metre parking outside (4P I think) so you can try you luck there. There are some parking stations around there, about $10-15...

If you are not too far away from city, I'd suggest a taxi trip home instead the stress of finding parking and feeding the metres...you can hale the taxi right outside the building which probably suits your DW after the day surgery...

Thanks for the replies. We are booked to the Kent Street clinic..

The virtual tour on the Sydney IVF website doesnt appear to work at the moment so can't take a look. We do have the introduction DVD which we will check out later tonight though.

We went to the Liverpool Clinic, so can't comment sorry.

I used the train every time I went in there... it is only a 5 minute walk from Wynyard. It can get quite busy around Kent St during the day so if you are using a taxis allow a bit of extra time to get there, nut finding a taxi for the return home should not be a problem.

I did not end up needing to use their day surgery, But from what I can tell you they are all lovely in there and you will be well taken care of. For you while you are waiting for DW there are a couple of coffee shops around there, so you can be well occupied, and the main reception at SIVF has a huge screen tv...

My experience with them has been excellent. The staff are really friendly and caring, the facility is well equipped and the recovering room post surgery (ie. I only did EPU and transfer there so don't know about lap) was good too, partner is allowed to wait there and you can get coffee even toast if it is early morning. They will also be able to help you with painkillers, heatpack, pad etc for your DW if she needs it.
