    Synarel and Headaches

Looking for some suggestions regarding the headaches I am having on the Synarel.

What do you find helps with your headaches/migraines?

I find that I wake up fine, no headache whatsoever, then usually within 10-15 minutes I can feel a headache coming on. I'm sick of taking panadol, do not wish to get into that habit, so am taking nothing ATM.

I got one of those migrasticks (i think that's what they're called) but it leaves my skin yellow and sticky, and I'm finding the smell a little overpowering.

I can have a headache all day, and sometime they turn into some lovely migraines which make me feel rather ill, so I spend most of the day laying down in bed - when I'm not on BB of course

I am thinking of going to see someone for acupuncture, this would help with headaches wouldn't it? or going to see the physio I use to see as a teenager, so am kind of familiar with. The acupuncturist, I've never been to, and don't actually know anyone around here who has seen one or can recommend one to me. The acupuncturist is a 45 minute drive away from here, and the only one I could find locally (as opposed to driving 200klms)

So, any tips or ideas to help me with the headaches/migraines?

    Nic

Sorry nic, you have longer to deal with this than most.
I took up acupuncture towards the end of my second cycle, but i was not doing it long enough to tell you if it made much difference. My acupuncturist assures me that it did!
I took panadol, then if it got worse panadeine forte, then if it got worse i took Imigran which is a super migraine drug. I know you want to stear clear of more medicines, but some days you just need to have a clear head for a whole 12 hours.
I'm sorry i have no more natural therapies.
    Good Luck

Nic, I totally sympathise with you. I had a constant headache for about a week and it has finally gone since I started my FSH injections, but comes back occassionally. I'm not keen on taking anything stronger than panadeine, and like you didn't want to get into the habit. The only thing that gave me some relief was to have a lay down in a dark room and try and have a nap. It didn't always work, but I didn't know what else to do.
I think acupuncture could be worth a go. I had my first appt last week and left feeling great. It certainly can't hurt to try it, especially as you are going to be on Synarel for a while longer.
    Hope you're feeling better soon.
