Hi all,
I am looking for TCM and/or naturopath in melbourne. I think i am categorised as "unexplained infertility". Was on clomid for 5 months, FS said stop taking it and i need to consider assisted therapies. He recommended IUI, but hubby doesn't really want to go onto it. He prefers us to get pregnant naturally. I dont suffer from neither PCOS nor endometriosis. SInce we are not prepared to go onto IUI, i think i have to think of other ways to help myself to get pregnant.
So, i really hope that someone can shed some lights and recommend me someone who is specialised in infertility and they got pregnant with them........ Help really needed here![]()

Mont Albert Acupuncture in Melbourne (Mont Albert) is where we went.
Catherine Lane is the TCM and acupuncture practioner there. Fertility support is her specialty! She helped us and still does with both. We have her to thank among others for our little man.
She now has a naturopath working alongside her too.

Amy O'Brien is an acupuncturist who uses TCM, she works out of Fertile Ground in East Melbourne (I think that's where Nicole Tracy works?). She is WONDERFUL! I saw her for pg related things, not TTC, but she was amazing. I have friends who have used her who have also had excellent results.
I'm sure you could pick any therapist from Fertile Ground and they would be able to help.........they are all experienced in helping with TTC there. All the best, I hope you get your BFP soon![]()
I 2nd Amy O'Brien and Fertile Ground. She is very caring and knowledgeable. I've seen other people when she isn't available and have been quite pleased.
I have had a few consultations with Nicloe Tracy and she was wonderful! Really lovely and really thorough.
For TCM I visited a woman in Kensington (Melbourne) at Metro Chinese Medicine Clinic - Stella Pericleous. She is really lovely also and I managed to fall pregnant on the first cycle after beginning treatment with her. She uses traditional herbs (rather than pre-made pills) and acupuncture which is apparently more effective. She then helped me through the first trimester and then helped prepare for birth. I felt very well looked after and well nurtured with her. If you are in the central or west side of town, I highly recommend her.
Hi Jackrose,
I know TCM usually cost a lot, do you mind to share how much it cost with dr. Stella per treatment and also for the chinese medicine?
I really want to try as im ttc almost for 1.5 years now, but want to know how much money we need.
Thanks a lot!!!!
Hi Melbourne,
Probably best that you make your own investiagtions about price directly with the practitioner themselves. They would not mind a telephone call regarding price and options etc. You can also discuss private health cover rebates etc with them if that's applicable. I'm sure you can find their phone number on the net somewhere.
Regards
Jo
HI Melbourne,
I agree with Lenny, it is a good idea to discuss potential costs with a therapist as everyone's situation is different. It really is an individual thing and depends on your presenting symptoms. It is one of the things I like about TCM, the approach for improving fertility is based on how you present symptom wise rather than a one size fits all approach. The number of treatments you may need and the herbs she would prescribe are dependent on your situation.
That said, I found Stella to be reasonably priced in comparison to some other people I looked at. She is certainly very apporachable and would be happy to discuss costs/concerns.
All the best!
I'll add a third recommendation for Amy O'Brien at Fertile Ground.
I'm now seeing her for acupuncture for morning sickness and fatigue instead of fertility, and she's doing a wonderful job.
HI there,
I am looking for the best natural therapists in melbourne to see? I have been trying to fall pregnant for 1 1/2 years, had endometriosis so had a laparoscopy early this year to remove. Been trying naturally ever since with no luck and now on my first month of clomid. Can someone guide me to who i could see to help me with fertility while i'm on clomid. I've been told that doing both clomid and natural therapy at the same tim can help. Many thanks Stacey
I see Nerida Moorhouse who's based at the Northcote Osteopath clinic, she used to work at Fertile Ground. She has a great manner. I also see Peter Slipper at Fertile Ground for acupuncture.
Hi Stacey, I'm in a similar situation to you (endo removed via a lap), though now doing IVF for tubal reasons. I can't recommend Nicole Tracy (who others have already mentioned in this thread) highly enough. She has a clinic in Park Orchards, and also works in East Melbourne. I've been seeing her for a year now.![]()
You've probably found someone by now, but I have a TCM practitioner whose focus is fertility, pregnancy & birth & she is also trained as a doula. She was just fantastic, very calming, approachable & knowledgeable. I also had unexplained fertility and had been trying for about a year. Two months after seeing her I felt great and conceived. I have been seeing her again for about 6 weeks, and have just found out I am pregnant (very early days! but joined this community to rejoin the world of birth and pregnancy in anticipation). She also helped me to navigate decisions of pregnancy and birth planning once I was pregnant with some great resources and info.
She's in Footscray - Elissa Pelling. Would recommend her to anyone.
Good luck!

May I please join the "WE LOVE FERTILE GROUND" club also pleaseI couldn't recommend making an appointment with them highly enough. I have been seeing them now for 10 months. The level of care and support is incredible. I am extremely fortunate to see Milly for Accupunture and Nicole for Natropathy. They so provide you with a perfect marriage to AC. Although my FS at MIVF is extremely professional and one of the best in the business, I do sometimes feel like just a number and I am often rushed out, left with unanswered questions. The staff at Fertile Ground spend so much time listening to you, answering your questions and inject a sense of humanness to the whole process, treating the whole person, body soul and mind
On a side note about accupunture, walking into Fertile Ground I was a huge skeptic, now I just cannot do without my weekly dose
I wish you the best in your AC journey

We have been seeing Simone Morley for 2 months. She seems great. Has anyone else had experience with her? She has trained with Franesca Naish and has a scientific background so combining the best of both worlds I hope.
I know one of the practitioners from "The Pagoda Tree" in Melb and from what I hear she has had great success with fertility. She does TCM.
