I'm soo sorry to hear the news Fi , I too responded a little too well to 75, so my FS lowered my dosage to 50.
I was a little worried with the lowered dose, but that can't be as bad as if they were to cancel the cycle.
Take care mate, and I hope your next cycle will bring you that BFP!!

Belinda,Paula and Nicole,
I'm not sure if i should be congratulating you guys on the next step. Which is wonderful-and your success rate is so much better!!! BUT- i wanted to give you all a huge cuddle. I miss you girls a lot and still feel a little guilt that you guys didnt come with me. i so wanted us all to go through together.:grouphug: I do understand that that wish is obviously ridiculous. I just wished it so much.
I do think its wise though to just concentrate on one little step at a time. When you read the epu stories they are lovely, having the fs holding your handing and comforting you before you fall asleep sounds very comforting.I think if this was a path i had to go on i'd be more concerned with the synarel then the epu. Just because it affects you so much. at least with epu you are back to normal the following day. I have had 4 laps to remove ovarian cysts and i found it was my own self talk that frightened me:redface:.If i had been more positive i would have coped better. And i just took it easy the following day. I hope and pray that you girls all get it first go:goodluck:. And who knows Nicole you might already be up the duff.. :pray:I hope you all have a wonderful weekend my muskateer girls and i will be around to check on you all. STALKER alert. My pregnancy is going well. 6 weeks already. My baby still has a tail but is starting to grow arm buds and has pupils and corneas. interesting.. the morning sickness is going now which is nice but my boobs are soooo increadibly sore:o. Especially when i wake up? They feel like bricks on my chest.Still get niggly tummy pains. babys dd is 18th december but i think it will be more like last week of november because of my health.I think of how special it will be to have a newborn in the house at christmas and it makes me well up;it reminds me of baby jesus, and how blessed we truly are.:hooray: The family wants to go away in january to torquay or port arlington in jan, that makes me nervous but df is wonderful so i am lucky to have his support and help. i guess it depends on how he / she takes to breastfeeding. the other two were a walk in the park but that was years ago. Fingers crossed. My son keeps saying how lucky he is to have his mummy growing him a baby brother or sister. he keeps measuring my tummy and if its 1-2mm bigger he is happy. I wish all you other iui girls every single success. See it does happen. You will make strong lasting friendships. if any of you ever have questions about iui i am more than happy to help. so thats it for me now with the iui thread. wishing you all everysingle joy and success.:comfort:

Fi, sorry to hear iui didn't work. So glad you are able to do a back to back cycle. Best wishes for this time round.
Amy, hope your first injections have gone ok.
My fingers are crossed for you both this month!!

Amy, Fi... How are you girls going?? :wiggle:
-
Hey Ladies, thought I would come in and check how you are all doing.
Kaydee, I hope waiting this cycle out is not too hard on you.
But that said lots and lots on BD can still get you that BFP result
Amy, Fi how you ladies going. Are you both doing a back to back cycle?
Hope you all had a great weekend

Hello
Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to pop in and see how you all are doing. Amy and Fi, how are the injections going this time round?
Kaydee, how are you holding up this month? Here's to DTD with no pressure this month. You never know, it could be your lucky month and you fall naturally!!
I have my fingers crossed for all of you. Will catch up again soon

Hi Ladies,
Sorry for the delay in replying, we are having major renovations done to our place and we have moved out for the week so the only access that I have to a computer is at work and I try to resist coming on the site for fear that they will see. But a positive is that we are staying at a hotel and I dont have to do any cleaning or paperwork for a week.
I am on day 5 of injections today and going back to the clinic tomorrow morning to see how they are traveling. I am finding this month easier because we know what to expect and we have told a little white lie this month and told our family and close friend's that we are having this month off the drugs....so I havent had any phone calls to find out what is happening and how I am feeling.
Fi - I am so sorry to hear that you are also having to do this again but hopefully we will both have positive news this month!!!
-
Hi Amy. Yay for no housework!!! Glad to hear injections are going well. Fingers crossed for your trip to the clinic tomorrow.
I completely understand your reasons for telling people you're having a month off... I did the same last month (our 2nd cycle). I found it harder to cope with the constant questions of how things are going and then having to tell people when they asked if it worked at the end of cycle 1 when it didn't work. Family/Friends are caring and interested but it puts added pressure where there's already enough from ourselves! I felt relieved when I was telling people we're "on hold" for a while (even though we'd started injections for a 2nd time). :shhh:
Enjoy your time at the hotel... Renovations are a pain when they're happening but the end result is so worth it!
-
Hi ladies,
hope your all well, I have been sick for over a week, on the mend now , and back on the injections.
I have had my dose lowered to 50 on the purgeon pen, is it my imagination or does this pen hurt more! Nicole you said a similar thing happened to you, what was your response on 50, were you having to inject for alot longer? I go in on saturday to see what my bloods say. If it doesn't work this cycle I may have to take a break as i go back to the uk for 5 weeks mid june. I didn't want to fly before 12 weeks, but I can't put my life on hold either! haven't seen some of my family for 2 years so it needs to be done. Dreading the flight with a very active 2 year old!
For some reason i'm finding it hard to feel positive this cycle, I know its not going to help to feel this way, but I cant help feeling disallusioned, as hormonally my last cycle was described as text book. A friend has given me the secret to watch on DVD, hoefully I will be full of positive feelings after listening to it!
fingers crossed for us all this cycle!

Hey Ladies, :p
Amy, renovations at the best of times is a pain. Around 3 years ago we added three more rooms and a deck....the dust was horrible...I wish we to stayed in a hotel.
How did your bloods go yesterday?
Kaydee, how you going? Hope you are making good use of DTD
Fi, My response to 50 was great. Only had 6 injections in total and had one good size follicle. Good luck for your bloods on Saturday
-
Hi Ladies,
Well we are back home and trying to clean up the mess, we stil have such a long way to go with the renovations but it will look amazing once it is finished.
Fi - How are you going? Where are you up to?
Kaydee - I hope you are enjoying your month off
Belinda - How is the IVF going?
Well everything is moving a lot quicker this month, I had 5 days on injections and 2 lovely follicles ready to go so I had the IUI done yesterday morning. So now the waiting game has begun, I go back to the clinic on Tuesday to have a blood test and then nothing until the 16th May...YEAH!!!
I feel really good this month, I seem to be able to deal with the side affects better...but it has helped that I havent done any house work for a week.
The nurse was really excited on Friday after she performed the IUI, and she said that this will be the last month for me.....not sure how she can tell but I am still not going to get my hopes up just yet.
Have a lovely weekend ladies.

Hi Amy,
That all sounds very positive!Thats great that your past the iui stage, I had my bloods taken today, things are moving slower than last month, but I am not unhappy about that as I had 3 follicles last month and was nearly on the verge of being cancelled, so feel better now i am on the 50 dose. I go in monday morning for scan and bloods, feel very nervous, would hate to be cancelled. What dose were you injecting with this cycle? What side effects did you have last cycle? I felt quite good last month, didnt really notice side effects in the injecting stage.
Good to hear your back home now, its very exciting when the renovations progress, we have only managed to do the bathroom so far, and that was a huge disruption so probably wont do anything else for a year or so !
Hope all is going well ladies

Hi girls
Amy, great news your cycle has happened so smoothly and you're already in the TWW. My fingers are crossed for you! :2ww:
Fi, best wishes with your scan tomorrow. I hope all is on track for an iui soon!
We're hoping this month we might be successful on our own... We haven't been for 18 months now but, hey... you never know!! I have made an appt with FS because it takes so long to get in to see him to discuss our next options. Planning to complete a 3rd oi-iui before we see him in early July. It would be really nice if I had to cancel the appt because it wasn't needed!!

hello
Hi all,
I am new to this forum. My husb and I have been trying to conceive for 12mths + now. All our tests are normal and we have been labelled "unexplained". I am about to start my second cycle of OI/FSH/IUI. I have just started spotting (CD 23) and assume I will be CD1 tomorrow. My first cycle I used 50U FSH from CD 2 to 7. BT on CD 7 showed oestrogen had started to rise. US on CD 8 show one dominant follice of 19mm and a number of smaller follicles (<13mm) so I triggered late on CD 8 (no evidence of LH surg on bt) for IUI on CD 10. Unfortunately my husband was called into work early on CD 10 and therefore no IUI, but we managed to BD later that night and the next morning etc. We have now frozen sperm in case of a similar problem in future cycles.
I also have wondered whether I should have gone straight to IVF. I have this sinking feeling that my IUI cycles (planning to have 3) will all be a bust and will be starting IVF in July regardless.
I would be interested to hear what doses other girls are taking, what cycle day you start, and what day you trigger/IUI (and any sucess!!!!)

Hi Ladies,
Welcome Swirl :D
We are on our second cycle of IUI and we have also decided to try three cycles and then move to IVF, I found the first cycle really hard with emotions, tender breasts and bloating but my second cycle has been a breeze. For both cycles I have been taking 50 Puregon and started on day three, the first cycle I had the trigger on day day 11 and with the second cycle I had the trigger on day 7.
I am back to the clinic tomorrow to have bloods taken to see if I need to have the booster.
Fi how did you go today?
Kaydee that would be amazing to have to cancel your appointment with the FS :crossfingers:

Hi Swirl. :welcome: Hope you find BB helpful as you go on your TTC journey rollercoaster.
DH and I are also classed as "unexplained infertility".
My first 2 cycles I was injecting a level of 75. Injections started day 4 both cycles. U/S both cycles was on day 9 and iui both cycles on day 10. Both times I showed a dominant follicle and some smaller ones. Both times, a BFN. :(
I haven't been able to back to back my cycles. Before the new cycle can begin, an u/s shows left over follicles from the previous oi-iui. (Apparently the smaller ones which weren't considered at iui time but kept maturing during the cycle). 1st cycle comp., one month off waiting for the follicles to go... 2nd cycle comp., and now we're in our month off waiting for the 2 follicles which were left over to go. Frustrating! :wall:
It's funny you say you feel like this is just the process before moving onto ivf anyway... I too feel that these 3 oi-iui cycles (Nurses want me to do minimum of 3 before discussing next options with FS) are stepping stones towards having to move on anyway... Need to try to stay positive for each cycle! You never know... lower percentage success rates than ivf but there's still a chance.
Amy, how's the clean up going?? You'll be glad to have the distractions during your TWW.
Fi, hope all went well today.

Hi Girls,
Just lurking, checking on your progress.
Welcome Swirl. You will find the ladies here are fantastic for support and story sharing. I hope your time here is a short one. I am now onto IVF after 2 failed IUI. Both cycles I was on 50 iu of puregon. The first month went really quickly and I think I triggered on day 7. I was quite good with the side effects although a little cranky at times. Second cycle was a nightmare. It went longer, triggered day 15 and the side effects were dreadful. I nearly ripped a stranger a new one when she looked at me twice at the local shops! But keep in mind everyone responds differently and your cycles can be different from month to month. Don't start thinking about IVF just yet. We had another lady here in the IUI thread that had 1 failed IUI but was successful on her second attempt. Only think ahead if you have to!
Fi, hope the scan went well.
Amy, I hope the TWW is treating you well. I'm doing well with the IVF. Have 9 follies and hoping for the EPU on Wednesday, just waiting for the clinic to call back.
Kaydee, I agree with Amy. I hope you do have to cancel the FS appt. My fingers are crossed for all of you
Take Care
Belinda xx

Thank you for the warm welcome.
Kaydee: just wondering, do you trigger prior to the IUI. I ask because my clinic said that the hcg trigger stops the other smaller follicles from growing further, which is why they trigger as soon as there is evidence of one dominant follicle, to stop any of the others catching up. I'm starting my second cycle in the next day or 2, I don't think I'll be having an US prior to starting the FSH again.
