    Hi Ladies,

Megsmum I am sorry to hear that its not looking good for this month. I agree with Swirl that it is time we had some good news in here!!!

Swirl fingers crossed that this is your month, my BT is the 4th July but I am not holding out any hope for this cycle.

Kaydee good luck with the FS appointment, I look forward to hearing what they decide to do next.

ATM I have been having Pregnyl 5000 as trigger so I am going to ask next Friday whether they can give me a higher dose to ovulate. I think we will do one more cycle of IUI before the FS appointment because of the delay in getting in, I would rather be doing something instead of waiting for 2 months. But the FN has said that I may end up with another cyst or 2 because this cycle didn't work...so will have to wait and see.

Tuesday night I had to have another injection of Pregynl to try and increase my progesterone and last night my lovely, caring, supportive DH was wetting himself laughing because I looked like I was about 4-5 months pregnant....I called the clinic and they have said that it can have that effect....I was unable to wear anything, nothing in my wardrobe fitted my so I sulked in my tracksuit for the rest of the evening, but luckily it was back to normal today and I was able to get my suit on......unfortunately I have to have the injection again on Friday night.

First of all I'll start this thread with lots of

I think we all need it!!

swirl - Yep, we will just be doing the same again this month. FS wants us to do 6 cycles before we discuss other options, I guess he is pretty sure we will have some luck in that time given our history - 2 pgs last year (both miscarried) and a DD conceived naturally. Good luck over the weekend, hope AF stays away for you!

Amy - I hope the higher dose of Pregnyl does the trick Sounds like a good plan to keep doing the IUI while you wait, it would drive me crazy not doing anything and just waiting. You never know either, after all you have to be in the race to win it!

AFM, AF is definitely here not that I was really in much doubt yesterday. So I'm trying to get over it and move on to our next IUI cycle. I rang the clinic yesterday and they want to scan me on day 9 instead of day 10 this month, which is next Friday. So not long to wait really and then we can get things moving along again for another cycle. If there's been one good thing to come out of this last cycle, it is that at least my short LP problem seems to have been solved. If that is the only thing stopping us conceiving, then hopefully it should only be a matter of time before we get our BFP - I'm really hoping so anyway!

    Hi Ladies
I've been reading the posts for a while but decided its time to join in on the fun!

I am on my 2nd IUI cycle. Had a day 9 ultrasound on Friday but folicles are still small so have another on Monday morning.

We have been try to conceive for about 15 months and about 3 months ago we discovered that DH has very low sperm count. Our DD is 3yrs old, and we were both shocked when we realised what a miracle she was! Keeping our fingers crossed we get some good results this month, however will be moving to IVF ICSI if this doesnt work out. We have councelling arranged in preparation already.

Hi Luckystrike and . Hope your iui this time round brings you success. It makes you hold your little ones tighter when you realise what a miracle they are... We too have a DD 3yrs old. We took a while to conceive her, with the help of clomid. After this journey we're still on, you just hold her so much closer. My fingers are crossed for you for a BFP this month.

Megsmum, so glad you are straight back into a new cycle. The month goes by so wuickly when you're going through treatment.

Amy, hoping Pregnyl does the trick for you. I honestly believe it was the reason why we got through our last cycle as far as what we did. It's awful stuff to inject but hoping it's all for a "positive" reason at the end!!!

Swirl, hoping AF is staying away from you... Looking forward to some good news in here!!

Alloy and Cherie. Hope you girls are going ok.

    Hi all
I've been away for the past week (gorgeous Margaret River) and have had some catching up to do.

Welcome LuckyStrike, Good Luck for your ultrasound tomorrow, I hope they find a follicle that is big enough!!

Megsmum, sorry you didn't get a bfp this cycle, but it's great that they can move you onto your next cycle so quickly!

AmyM, isn't Pregnyl horrible?? I had dramas with clothes not fitting as well, and it drove me insane. Too bad I couldn't wear trackies to work Hopefully you'll get a bfp and won't need your FS appointment.

Kaydee, GL for your FS appointment on Wednesday, I hope you get what your hoping for. With so much going on in a month, the time really does fly by doesn't it? I can't believe it's almost July.

I have my Laparoscopy on Tuesday, and then we had another FS appointment booked for 11 July, but they rang and cancelled on me last week, because my FS is going to be on holidays. I hope I'll get to speak to her on Tuesday, and we can organise something sooner, I don't want to have to wait too long to find out what we're doing next.

I'm on holidays for another week, and then when I go back to work, I'm working 4 days a week! I organised it with my boss a couple of weeks ago, because I was starting to feel bad about all the sick leave I was taking with IUI, and FS appointments. I've got Fridays off, but it's flexible so if I need a different day for an appointment or treatment, I'll just work the Friday instead. Hopefully that will help a little bit. DH says I can only spend 80% of what I normally spend though

to anyone I've missed, hope you are going well.

    Hi everyone!

Alloy - Glad to hear you are not feeling too bad and that the lap was all clear. Good luck for your appt on the 25th, hope it comes around really fast for you. I know how it feels just waiting...blah!!

Lucky Strike - Hi and welcome! Good luck for your IUI on Friday. That's great though that you have everything all ready to go next month if you need, hopefully you won't though

Kaydee - Hope you got on well at the FS today. I know how you feel about the cold, when DD and I were sick a couple of weeks ago we went through a whole box of tissues between the two of us in a few days! LOL

swirl - I'm so sorry to hear you got a BFN Good luck for the lap.

    Angel Babies -

AFM, CD8 today and finished the Clomid yay! I had a few more little side effects this month compared to last, but not too bad. I'm off to the clinic at the crack of dawn tomorrow (LOL well 7.30am anyway!) for a scan and BT, and hoping for a nice big follie so we can trigger tomorrow for IUI on Saturday. Here's hoping for a happy result this month now it seems that all the LP problems are sorted

    Hi Ladies,

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, everything seems to be happening all at once at the moment.

Megsmum good luck tomorrow and that IUI is this Saturday
    Lucky strike & Angel babies
Kaydee I hope that everthing went well for you today
Alloy I am glad to hear that your lap was all clear and I hope that the 25th passes by quickly for you

AFM, testing tomorrow we are not holding out any hope this month because my progesterone was so low but AF hasn't arrived yet.....so there is still hope.

to anyone else that I have missed.

Amy, I'm really hoping your BT tomorrow gives a positive boost to this thread!!! :goodluck2:

Megsmum, fingers crossed your iui will be on track for this weekend.

Alloy, it's good that they didn't find anything nasty during the lap. But I guess it doesn't give you any answers either.. Glad you were able to get another appt in July. Time drags when you are waiting.

Luckystrike, good luck for your iui tomorrow. Then into the dreaded tww!! It's good to have a plan organised, just in case... but hoping you won't need it!

FS appt today was really good. I'm really happy with our FS, he is able to answer any questions - even the strange ones - and takes the time to explain things. We're moving onto ivf. We'll be able to start next cycle which is due to start in about 2 weeks. We need to do a long cycle which is the pill and sniffing during the 1st month, injections and egg collection in the 2nd month. Excited to be moving onto the next step. Need to do lots of reading to find out more about it all.

I'm not quite ready to leave all you girls just yet, so I'll keep hanging here (and be your cheer squad!) until I start on the ivf cycle, if that's ok...

    Good morning everyone!

I am all triggered up and ready to go and get insemenated today.

My body feels very different this month and I am not sure what to make of it.
Last month I had very tender breasts and nipples and I was insementaed on day 11, this month my breasts are completeley normal and I am getting insemenated on day 16. My gonal-f dosage dropped from 150 to 75 this month, but I dont think that is the reason, as I normally without any drugs get some tenderness. Who know's it may be a good sign that something is different and perhaps i will get a better result, I can only

Amy - good luck wit the BT today, some good news would give us all some hope that there is light outside the tunnel!

Kaydee - thankyou and good luck with the IVF. We may be doing that together if I dont get my BFP this month!

Megsmum - thankyou for the welcome, and sounds like we will be in the 2WW together, Good luck with your scan today!

Alloy - good luck with your FS appointment and hope the IVF process happens quickly after that. Have you had your councelling yet, or are you waiting to see what the FS says first?

Hi to everyone else and hope you are all doing well

Amy - Good luck for today

Kaydee - Glad to hear your FS appt went well, and you're excitied to be moving on to IVF. Good luck with it all, although it sounds like we'll be talking to you here for a bit longer

LuckyStrike - Good luck for your IUI today! I'm a bit the same, with different things happening every month too, it's a bit annoying to a control freak like me! LOL But as long as there is an eggie there, that's the main thing - I wouldn't pay to much attention to breast tenderness.

AFM, well no IUI tomorrow as I hoped. My scan showed 2 follies 4mm and 6mm and lining was 3.8mm, so I still have a while to go yet, oh well. I was just hoping it would be tomorrow because it's the weekend and would have worked well - DH could have looked after DD while I went and had it done. At least things are on track though, hopefully we might have some action by the middle of next week, I'm having another scan on Monday to see what is happening then. I should have known that I wouldn't have 2 cycles back to back where my body did the same thing!

    Have a lovely weekend everyone!

    1st round IUI!

    Hello!
This is my first time on this site, and reading through some of the stories I'd thought I could share mine.
At this present moment in time, my husband and I are waiting to take a pregnancy test next week. We have been ttc for approx 4yrs now, and only in the last 18mths have looked into why it wasn't happening. I have suffered from irregular periods since I was 16, and never looked into it. Until about a year ago when I was diagnosed with PCOS. And also not to help things, my husband's sperm count was quite low and of those that were there, they were a mixture of good, slow and abnormal... talk about a good match up!!! Anyway, I was put on Metformin to try and assist things, but the FS I was seeing then, had me straight on the maximum dose. I ended up 'overdosing' on it and ended up with a severe side effect known as Lactic Acidosis. I knew something was wrong, but the FS didn't believe me, so along with a wonderful invention called "Google" and with help from my GP, we worked out that I had Lactic Acidosis. So forward to December last year we saw a new FS and she is absolutely wonderful. Very caring and understanding. She didn't want to put me on Metformin so I went to Clomid. 5 rounds of this and no increase or result anywhere - except in June this year I ended up in hospital with a Left Ovary torsion - or 'twisted ovary' - 7 times twisted. I was extremely lucky to not loose the left ovary and fallopian tube - thanks to some quick thinking from my husband and an awesome team at the hospital. After a 3mth break to let my body recover, my FS directed us to her Fertility Clinic, where we were to start an IUI round. This required me to do daily FSH injections - Purgeon. The first 2 days I couldn't inject' myself, so I had hubby do this, but quickly learnt to do myself as the 2nd day he moved the needle on the way out and it hurt like hell!!! I was monitered with a couple of scan to check how many folicles I was producing and in the end I had 1 rather large folicle. I was given a 'trigger' to make sure I ovulated and I was inseminated. That was 9 days ago now. I had a progesterone level blood test done yesterday and it came back at 52? Our nurse said that with this type of treatment they like to see over 20.... But I'm now thinking....waiting....thinking more..... Does this mean with such a high level I may be pregnant? Or is it just a good result to the treatment and I'm not pregnant.... oh I don't know. I have to have a preg test next week but the waiting is killing me!!!!! But like my hubby keeps kindly reminding me... 'good things always come to those who wait!".
I hope this may have helped someone else going through the same thing! To everyone out there ttc - I wish you all the very best - keeping everything crossed for you!!!!

    Hi sunnycoastgirl,

I have followed this thread for a bit but did not post cause it looked like no one was in the IUI boat anymore. But Im glad you are here - and have given me the strength to join.

Hubby and I have been ttc for 2.5 years now, and also on our first IUI cycle. Went through the daily injections also, hubbys job though I couldnt do it myself. Developed 2 identical follicals, and had the trigger shot after so much abdominal pain. Had the IUI, about 11 days ago now, followed up with the hcg injections every 3 days. And now, due for pregnancy test tomorrow....! I am soo nervous - I cant think of anything else!! I dont feel overly positive about it, and the hcg injections have supposed to be making me feel pregnant so any sympton I get I have to right it off.

In regards to your progesterone question - I had the same thought myself as the nurse told me 'my results were very high'. I hope it does mean we are in with a better chance - we can only be positive though as your husband is - it is very good advice.

Good luck for next week, make sure you keep me posted. Are you also on the hcg injections? Do you have any symptons?

    Round four - fingers crossed

We've had our fourth IUI today. We have our fingers and toes crossed for this one. We had two fabulous fat folicles - one either side, so we're hoping at least one of them takes off. Back to the Pregnyl shots. Snore!

    Talking

Yay - good luck originalP. I hope this one is it for you!!!

I have just started my second IUI cycle, on my 3rd day of the FSH shots. I am finding things a bit harded 2nd time round. I feel like the first cycle I have years to prepare for (2.5 yrs of trying!!) and this cycle only a couple of days. I feel really run down, pysichally and emotionally tired - did you experience this with the FSH shots? Do you have any tips on how to cope a little better.

I have my fingers crossed for you that this IUI is the one for you

    How to cope

I think the whole process is very draining. My naturopath put it very succinctly : it's a frightening and lonely process. Especially if you're going through treatments back to back. We do one month on and one month off with the Fertility Dept of RHW - they will work with us for a year, so if we have to use the whole year I suspect I will need a whopper of a holiday at the end of it.

I found the month with no FSH injections was AWFUL. I was very depressed and very flat. It was really hard to find joy in anything - and I pretty much didn't. We still did the Pregnyl injections, and I asked to come off them early when it was clear there'd been no fertilisation. I just needed a chance to straighten up. I'm glad I did that because I was back on track in no time.

That being said, I also take a supplement called Neuro Calm by Metagenics. It helps with seratonin production, which is the chemical that makes you feel good. If you can get your hands on some, I recommend it as a good support.

Other than that - be extra kind to yourself. Eat well, take your vitamins, and get at least 9hrs sleep a night. You don't need life to run you down while you go through this.

    Take good care.
    :-)
    OriginalP.
