Blondie, in that case I'd certainly be pushing for a referral to an FS, or a gynecologist at least and start looking into clomid. For me, 6 months on metformin was enough to see that it clearly wasn't enough to restore any semblance of menstrual regularity. I also only had one go at clomid and decided that wasn't the answer either - severe anxiety problems as side effects that had me off work for a week and it didn't make me ovulate! You've certainly been much more patient than I was, but it does appear to be time to move on to something else now, sadly.
Kristie, I've heard of women ovulating within days of taking metformin for the first time, but in more severe cases of PCOS, longer is usually needed. It's good that you're not having trouble with side effects. What dose are you on at the moment, and what does your doctor want you to get to?
