Thanks BG. I have a really good feeling that it will be your turn very soon sweet.
I want to thank all you girls for your support during this frustrating journey.
you'll have to start a pregnancy journal so i can keep stalking you and see how you're going! good luck mako
as for me - swelling is settling, but still really uncomfy. feel like i've got a full on tooth ache in my front teeth, and it's pushing on my nose and sinuses. driving me slowly mad. i just want for this to be cleared up and finished with so i can move on. still no idea exactly what happened during the surgery, so looking forward to seeing the surgeon tomorrow so that i can find out and move on. want it to be cleared up so i can stop taking pain killers - once that happens, i can move on with the TTC journey, but considering i'm still needing panadeine just to function, i'm not prepared to start again. when we start again, i have no intention of doing anything that might put a pg at risk!
again, a huge congrats Mako - you've given me a reason to smile today!
Hi Ladies,
Mako - Congrats! That is awesome news. The same thing happened to one of my friends, she was trying for about 12 months and then did a few cycles of Clomid and then had a month off and that was the month she got pregnant!!
BG, glad to hear the swelling is starting to go down....I hope it hurries up for you though so you can get back to TTC.
LtlPanda, those follicle sizes sound good.
ATryingTime, I went to a naturpath and tried herbs to get my cycle sorted out and they didn't work :( Is there any way to have both the Clomid and the herbs??
By the way....I love Clueless and I totally love Buffy!!
As for me....today is CD9 so my last day of Clomid for this cycle....then fingers crossed! I do think I feel different this time. Last time I had cramping and this time so far I haven't had that. BUt this time I feel queasy and dizzy after I take it and last time I didn't....so I am hoping that means it is working this time.
I have an ultrasound booked in for Monday 19th and then a BT the following MOnday.
Good Luck to everyone.
LOVE
SAM :)
Mako- You have just made my day. I am so excited for you sweetheart :confetti: :confetti: yay for you. What an amazing miracle you have in your life now.
Hi there!
Im a regular on the AC TTC board but I don't take clomid. I have other issues!
I was just interested to know why do some FS prescribe clomid to women who DO ovulate? my FS would not give it to me as he said that there was no reason too (as I O reg) and it could be detramental to someone like me- but ive heard that there are women who go on clomid as a first course of action before AC even when they O reg.
Isnt this dangerous? I was just curious as i know someone at work who is having probs conceiving(unexplained) and her FS is starting her on this! My SIL also went on it and there was nothing wrong with her either? its just that she M/C and wanted to fall preg quickly again
Does clomid work this way?
Mako darling, best wishes and congratulations. Its no nice to hear that sometimes there is a reward at the end of the road.
Sammy, best wishes with conception, hope you catch that egg, are you taking your temperature. I fount that by taking my temperature i know exactly when I have ovulated and when AF will arive.
Is anyone else charting????? what is your temperature like while taking chlomid. Mine is the most stable it has ever been. Without these drugs my temperature is all over the place, now its always hoverung around 36.4. When I ovulat it goes up to 37.2 and stay up until AF.
I had my trigger shot yesterday regardles of the number of follies, i think its more to just get rid of them. I should be ovulating tomorrow morning. yay...
Well I hope everyone is doing fine.
Afternoon peoples
Mako - Congrats on your BFP, it's nice to see people graduating :D
kim.b - I am one of those women who ovulate naturally, but I am now mid way through my second cycle of clomid. I have no idea why my gyno has chosen this as the first course of action. I have had all the previous day 21 tests come back fine, had lap/tubal dye, etc - all fine. My next appointment with the gyno is in a couple of weeks - I may be asking some more questions.
Ltl Panda - I was charting for about 6 months, but haven't done it with temps for about the last 6, I am thinking about starting again though, if I do, I'll let you know.
Sammy - Hope the queasiness/dizziness are all dood signs :crossfingers:
BG - Hope your appointment with the surgeon today brings positive results.
Enjoy the afternoon
:D
Hey Ladies,
Hope you are all well :)
Kim.b, I have read in some forums of women having "unexplained infertility" and having been given Clomid to try and kick start the FSH hormone. And from memory also ladies with a shorter luteal phase??
LtlPanda, yep I am temping. On my first cycle of Clomid my temp was up and down and all over. So far this cycle it has been around 36.59.
My friend told me to take my temp vaginally though because it gives a more accurate result but I just can't bring myself to do it and am just taking my temp orally.
How do you take yours?
BG, how is the swelling going today?
SAM:)
Hi girls
Ohhh I so cannot lie in bed and take my temperature vaginally, mouth will do.
well today is day 2 after trigger shot and my ovaries and cervix feel like they have been stratched to the max.... How do they expect you to BD when you feel like you are being split appart. How are you girls going???? hope you are feeling ok.:)
Ill talk to you girls tomorrow.
HI all
Ltl Panda - could be interesting trying to BD when you're feeling like that! hope you've had some relief and get some decent BD in there - and that you catch that little eggie
as for me - appointment with surgeon today bought good results. finally got the last of the stitches removed (most of them fell out last night by themselves, but two or three were very termpermental) - seems one of them was impinging on a nerve near my nose and causing a lot of my discomfort - within half hour of having it taken out, the pressure started to ease. i'm still sore and swollen, but feeling so much more positive about it now. i was pretty confident it was nothing major, but having confirmation that everything was benign was such a relief! apart from pain killers, which i'm gradually weaning myself off, i'm taking nothing else now, so might be making myself a call to the FS tomorrow to see when we kick all of this off. enough of this waiting stuff - time to get back on the TTC merry go round!!!
Mako: CONGRADULATIONS!!!!! That is great news!!
Im soooo Happy for you all the very best!!
I will reply to personals later sorry saving babies is starting so i gotta go and watch!
Thanks for the support!
Kristie
Congratulations Mako. Its stories like this that keep me going
Good news the hot flushes are going away. Although DH has been commenting that I feel warm! Ive noticed that my tummy cramping is affected by the naughty types of food I eat. It usually the day after ive had something I shoudnt have. More of an inncentive to eat all the right foods. Work has been stressful! I think I should win the lottery so I can not have to work, ok work and just do 3 days a week. That would suit me just fine.
I think the most exciting thing is that i think i have oed at cd14! Ive been anywhere from cd16 to cd20 something.
Hells Bells! There are so many different faces in here since I was here last!!! Hi to the "old" girls and hi to the "new" ones too! Bear with me as I catch up with all your news and backgrounds.
Quickly about me.... I was in this thread mid to late last year. I had 3 cycles of clomid and then got a +ve pg. I carried till 12 weeks and then had a miscarriage in late January. VERY disappointing to say the least. Once pg, I am on a heap of drugs to support and seeing as they worked the pg before and I have a DS, I figured that they would work again. Not so. The last m/c I had was #7 (so I have been pg 8 times).
Anyway, after a D&C and some time off, I went to see the FS today and I am back on clomid for about 3 cycles. If nothing happens then I am back to IVF (I have also been down that track before too). This time, the FS has added oestrogen tablets to take in conjunction with the clomid to help things along a bit. I am also taking clomid from CD2 - 6 instead of 5 - 9 like last time.
AF is a week or so away atm, so things will be gearing up soon.
Good luck to all of you in here. Congrats to those that have gotten BFP in the past little while.
oh Hayseed, I have been so worried about you. I had no idea you had a m/c until someone told me last week. I am so sorry you lost your little one but am full of hope for you.
hello all
Hayseed darling what a bumpy road, I wish you all the very best on the new cycle of TTC
sunny_summer, o you have an intollerance to something? I find that when I have anything that is a carb i baloon the next day.
briggsy's girl, i am glad your stitches are out and you are more positive (well you sound positive) good luch with TTC....
Well I am still sore I did ovulate yesterday, my temperature has increased by 3 degrees.
So I am happy I ovulated, that is another mile stone for us. I have an appointment with my specialist and hopefully we will get the ball rolling for IVF.
Well I hope everyone else is ok, and hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks Danni. Yeah I heard you were asking after me. I really appreciate your thoughts!!
Hayseed, I'm so sorry to hear your news. :(
For what feels like the first time in forever... I finally got the right blood test result! I passed! I start puregon tomorrow! It's exciting to finally be moving forward at last.
BW
Hayseed - I'm sorry to see you back here again too, I had no idea. I've been following your TTC journey for years now, so we'll have to get you moving out of here again soon *hugs* What strength of clomid are they starting you on this time?
ATryingTime - Sorry I took so long to respond. I've been offline for about 10 days or so as we lost our adsl connection in some recent storms. I still have 5 spare OPK's - if you want them just email me your address details to missbelinda77@bellybelly.com.au . Hopefully you won't get to use them :)
Mako - I read about your news in the other thread and left you a message there. Congratulations! That is wonderful news. How often do we read stories about women who fall in that month when they are trying naturally and think - yeah, sure - that won't happen to me, i'm not that lucky - and yet it has happened to you! I'm very happy for you.
Hello to everyone else! FF has decided to reboot my cycle when I started heavier bleeding last week, so I'm hoping that is a positive sign, and that eventually AF will leave me. Not to long to my next appt. I'm sure they'll be sending me for more bt's and scans from that appt to start the lead up to Clomid again, so hopefully I'll be TTC again in a few months. I'm feeling quite positive about it all at the moment, but you know how it is, this rollercoaster ride will probably through me about sometime soon. :)
I can't remember who asked - but someone asked about why some dr's start people who ovulate on clomid. I'm sure some dr's aren't sure what they are doing half the time! Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm not sure, but I'm an example of someone who can ovulate on my own, but not always - probably something to do with the stupid and variable length of my cycles. Even when I did go on clomid from days 3-7 I still ovulated anytime from CD18 onwards, which compared to others, is still later.
sunnysummer: Glad you have hot flushes have gone away! They are annoying things and congrats on 0ing on day 14!! sounds promising..
Hayseed: Im terribly sorry to hear of your loss im also taking clomid CD 2-6!
Ltl panda: Congrats on 0ing- GOOD LUCK with your specialist appt!!!
Butterfly warrior: Congrats YAY wishing you all the best with this cycle !!
Miss belinda: all the best with your appt and i hope u get started soon -GOOD LUCK with it all!!!
Well im on CD 11 today have been using opk's no positive as yet. I had acupuncture yesterday and got more TCM herbs she has a whole cycle mapped out for me each week of my cycle i take different herbs to help so im hoping this will help along with the clomid so i dont need to go down a different track of surgery etc as i really really dont want to have to go there...... so i see the acupuncturist on Friday and i see her again the following friday and also my specialist on 30th of March and i have to get my bt on 28th of March so i really hope i can ovulate but im only on 50mg so next step will be 100mg so i will be alot more postive on 100 mg for some reason lol
Anyway hope all is well
And we all get our dream BFP's!!!
Take Care
Kristie
I want to say thanks to all you girls for your good wishes.I"m so pleased I was able to make some of you smile. I really am looking forward to some more of you graduating from this thread soon too.
Ktgirl you are a gem hun and you will get your little miracle too sweet. Just hang in there and know that it will happen.
Good afternoon girls
AUZZGAL, it looks like you have a good plan ahead for the next few weeks, I hope you ovulate on 50mg, stay positive. Even if the herbs and natural remedies don't really work in conjuction with chlomid, they are great things to help you relax and assist by improving wellbeing.
missbelinda77, good luch with the tests, and hope to hear more of your TTC experiences.
Well, as for me not much to say other that I am less bloated and my temperature is still high, this should stay high for the next week or so untill AF arives, than hopefully I can start IVF next month. Gell the ball rolling.
well hope everyone is ok, talk to you soon.
Hi Ladies. Hope you don't mind if I join. I am on second cycle of clomid, 10 months in to TTC bub number 2.
I did Clomid and IUI last cycle, and am re-thinking doing IUI this cycle, but will go ahead with the Clomid. 1st tablet tonight (I take it days 2-6).
What days do you all take it? Do you know why doctors prescribe it for different days, ie 3-7, 5-9 etc etc? Also, does it helop with side-effects (hot flashes, dizziness) by taking it at night? Any advice would be appreciated.
When I got pregnant the first time (with my little boy, now 21 months old), we had been TTC for five years including 5 IVF attempts, but got pregnant first time trying Clomid (no IUI).
So I am hoping it will work again in our quest for number 2.
Good luck everyone with your cycles.............TTC is a vicious game we play, eh! ;)
Hi Julia
welcome, and i really hope your stay here is a really brief one!
i think the days that docs get you to take clomid all depends on the doctors - from what i've read, they're no particular reason why they choose different days - although days 5-9 usually results in later O if it does it's job! as for taking clmid at night, i was advised this was the best way to take them to avoid the side effects. apparently if you take them at night, the bulk of the hormonal fluctuation (including the natural ones) occur while you're asleep and you avoid a lot of the nasties! i had 3 cycles of clomid (up to 150mg - 3 tabs) per day, and had pretty negligible side effects.
HTH
Hi everyone this is Penny,
I just started Clomid...CD5thru9 and right now I'm on CD18 with all negative OPK tests.
I'm sure I'm doing them wrong as I was taking them as soon as I woke up. I'm so frustrated and only want to do things right. My temps have been ranging from 97.3-97.6 with this a.m. being 97.5. I've read where you can O on CDs17thru21 taking Clomid so I'm still hoping.I have been BDing everyother day except for last night as my DF had an uncle pass away and we were very tired today is the showing with the funeral being tomorrow. So if anyone has advice for me I'll take what ever you can throw at me. Thanks a bunch and I'm sorry that Clomid didn't work for some of you(goodluck with the next step) I pray that this works for us. I started with 100mg a day for 5days. Hope anyone can shed some light for me. Thanks a bunch if you can.
Penny
Hello i am Mel,
We have been ttc for neally 2 years now. Currently on metformin and clomid,
My doc said that ivf may be the next step for us, although i would like to stick to clomid
for a few more months and i am working hard to loose weight, so hopefully this will help.
My weight is a vicious cycle, when i am down i eat, then i get more depressed.
I have started on weight watchers and walking in the morning.
I hope some of you other ladies can offer some guidance for me,
Thanks Mezza
Hi Mel....welcome. Good Luck with your weight loss. I have started walking in the mornings too and I do Yoga three nights a week. I think it really helps with my mood too.
Hi Penny...welcome. Are you having a CD21 BT to check for ovulation? My Dr told me that some OPKs may not work when you are taking Clomid?
Hi Julia....welcome. I take Clomid from CD5-9 and I also take them at night. I have had minimal side effects on both cycles, some hot flushes and a bit headachey.
LtlPanda...it is good to hear you aren't so bloated anymore. How are you feeling now?
Kristie...i hope that the Clomid, acupuncture and herbs combo works out for you. You are sounding really positive, which is awesome :)
Belinda....good luck with your next FS appt.
Hayseed...I am so sorry for your loss. I really hope that this cycle of Clomid works for you.
BG...did you call the FS to make an appt?
SS...I find that some foods I eat make me sick and bloated too...especially bread. My Mum is a coeliac so I have all the tests and they think I have a slight intolerance.
I hope everyone else is well!
As for me... I am off to the FS tonight for an US to see if any follicles are growing. I am a bit nervous about it. I guess I am scared that he will say that nothing is happening :( But on the other hand he could say that it is going well :)
SAM :)
HI all
Penny & Mezza - welcome. i really hope your stay with us is short lived!
Sammy - good luck with your FS appointment tonight - i'm really hoping you have a couple of nice little follies growing there!
As for me - well, i have blood test on Wednesday to kick start next IUI cycle - woo hoo! things are finally on their way again!
Sam,I started doing the OPK tests on CD13 and today I'm on CD18 with no luck. If OPK tests don't always work while on Clomid does this mean that I won't O? I want this to work for us sooo badly and I'm so confused with the whole dang thing. I just wish this would come together for me. I truley thank god I found this site as it has helped me a lot so for that I thank you!Goodluck with your test!
Briggsy's girl,I really hope that I only have to stay "here" a short time too! I pray I get a BFP so I can move on to having a miricle! Thanks for the encouragement!
I have learned so much already from this site and plan on stickin around to learn a whole lot more!
Thank you all and goodluck to each and everyone of you!
Wow a whole slew of new arrivals.
Hi to Penny, Mezza and Juila. I am sure that you will find this place a wealth of support and information. May your stays be short and sweet.
Hayseed - So sorry to hear about your loss and I am  that you will be here for the shortest time.
missbelinda - Thanks for the email - Here's hoping they bring a BFP. Good luck with your next appointment.
sammy88 - Good luck with your US tonight, here's hoping there are lots of follies. I am wondering why some people have US's to check for follicles and others don't. I am on my second cycle of Clomid and all I do is take it, have a blood test on day 21 and then ring my gyno when AF arrives. Can anyone shed any light?
Auzzgal - Sounds like you are really enjoying the acupuncture. What are TCM herbs?
BG - Glad to hear that you are back in the game. Good luck on Wednesday.
As for me I had my blood test this morning (I am actually CD22, but yesterday being Sunday I was told to just do it this morning). My DH has his first appointment with the acupuncturist on Wednesday evening and I will have my second appointment with her on Thursday evening. Other than that I have been trying not to think about it too much. I find the second half of the 2ww the worst.
ATT - My FS didn't do an US for my first Clomid cycle....but a friend said to me that she had ultrasounds and was shocked that I wasn't especially because I am a twin and she thinks there is more chance of me having twins. SO this cycle I asked my FS if I could have an US too and he said Yep.
I think that the monitoring depends on the Dr?
Fingers crossed about your BT :)
Penny, I didn't ovulate on my first cycle of Clomid 50mg :( so my FS increased my dose to 100mg for this cycle. You might also just be ovulating late....I have read that some ladies ovulate as late as CD24.
SAM :)
good evening ladies,
thanks to sammy 88, briggsy's girl and a trying time for the welcome.
i do hope that my journey is soon coming to an end.
I hope you are all well and look forward to chatting again soon.
take care
mezza,
i hope to stay a while and get to know you better
Thanks for the lovely welcome!
Well, just took my second clomid tonight. I do ovulate on my own, but am hoping this will help boost my chances. Last cycle I had two follies, one was 23mm on the day of IUI and the second was 19mm, but AF arrived a few days ago unfortunately.
I have had two IUI's, both with dh's unwashed semen, but of course it caused severe reactions - passing out, cold sweat and bad cramps. But we have done it unwashed because of our religions beliefs regarding the solution they use to wash the semen, which involves blood products.
However I don't want to go through those horrible side effects again, so this time am considering not doing IUI but just rump-ti-tupt'eying a lot LOL.
Hmmmm I just don't know. I want to maximise our chances but not waver my conscience. I'll have to have a good think about this I guess.
How long have you all been TTC? It is a rough process hey!
Thanks for all the advice...this is awesome!
I'm on CD19 today and my temp was 97.7. I hope and pray that I do O and it's just late.
I've run out of the OPK tests and will have to find a way to get more.
I agree that TTC is a rough process...I've benn tryin since Oct.06.
But I also had a TR in August 06 and everything went good. The Doc had a hard time putting my left tube back together but did and now I have 5cmleft side and 6cm on my right side. Either way I am whole again and fertile...I love that.
I sent my chart to the Doc and thats when he told me I wasn't O'ing so that is why I started Clomid this cycle.I hope and pray that it works and for the first time I want to be dumb and hope I didn't do something right so I get a BFP! LOL!!!
Thanks for all the help from here. I'll keep you posted as I love this place and the ppl here!
Ohhhh welcome to all the new lovely ladies.
ATryingTime, how did you go with the blood test?
julia, i say stay true to your beliefs, I am hoping chlomid will do its majic on you soon...
penny1971, taking your temperature is a really good way to see how your hormones are going, even though we are taking medication it is still a good indicator of ovulation. I know when AF will arive as my temp will drop 1 or 2 day's prior.
Sammy88, how are those follies going. I hope they are growing.
Well I am doing ok, bloating has gone down and I seem to be feeling a lot better. My sister in law gave birth this morning at 3 am. He is the 3rd generation born on 20th of March. He is a few days early, but how about that. Nan, Mum and the little one all born on the same date. I am so happy for them.
have to start work now, have a good one girls.
Penny...hopefully you are just ovulating late! I have everything crossed for you.
Julia...that is no good at all about your reaction to the IUI :( What does your Dr say about just trying the "old fashioned" way?
We have been TTC with Clomid since the beginning of this year....but I have know that I would need fertility drugs since June '06.
As for me today....my scan was disappointing :( There were no dominant follicles. So I am going back again next Monday to see if there are any then.
But he did find something odd in my uterus....he said it looked like a pregnancy sac. It was a black part with a bright white center. He said that it could just be mucus showing up funny on the ultrasound. I guess we will find out more next week??
He said that next week we would talk about trying 150mg Clomid in the next cycle or going onto injections....and I know nothing about injections so I guess I will be researching this week.
It is all just so confusing!
Hope you all have great days.
SAM :)
Hey LtlPanda! Good news on your nephew :) That is exciting news.
Also good to hear that you are feeling better.
Thanks everyone. I need some luck here and glad you are keeping everything crossed for me.LOL!
Hope everyone is well and good! Goodluck to all of you ladies I'm glad there are some who are just like me. Hopefully soon we all will get our BFP!
Have a great day/night it's 6:30 p.m. here and I have to get supper for the girl's. I'll be back later on.
morning girls
Ltl Panda - congrats on the new little bubba in the family - it's amazing having the third generation of family born on the same date!
Sammy, sorry you're U/S didn't turn out so well today - i've got my fingers crossed for a better result for you next week. as for the injectables - there's a couple of us here, and more over in the AC thread who can give you lots of advice if you need it.
For my last rounds of clomid (3 cycles), I was on CD5 - 9. This time, my FS is putting me on CD2 - 6. I asked him what the difference manes and he said that taking it earlier can stimulate more eggs to be released and hence, DH has a few more targets to "shoot for". He said that taking clomid earlier can mean increased chance of having multiples. TBH, I haven't researched it much beyond what my FS has told me, so I'm not 100% why this is the case.
Belinda, I am on 100mg clomid - same as last time. I have 2 tabs a day.
Penny, don't use your OPKs first thing in the morning. Use them from about 10am through to 6pm. And try to use at the same time every day. If you use your first morning urine, you may miss the LH surge that day, as the majority of the urine you have built up is from the previous night. So I would suggest using them later. I usually do mine around lunchtime. OPKs are different to HPTs which should be done first thing in the morning to catch all the build up of HCG. HTH and I am not telling you to suck eggs!!
Ladies, thanks for your well wishes. I also hope that this next cycle is the one. But I have been kicked in the guts so many times, that I am sort of hardened to the whole process now. Even when I get a BFP, I still don't rejoice until I get past the 16 weeks mark of the pg!! Sad....but true.
