    IVF Doctor Recommendation - Sydney

    Dear all,

We have done two full stim cycles with our current clinic and no fresh transfer and no frozen embies, only 1 BFN FET..... I had OHSS in my first cycle.

DH and I are considering changing clinic to get a second opinion - anyone has good suggestion as to what to do next or any good doctor to see? We are in Sydney north area but will look at all options in Sydney.

I also have PCOS so any IVF doctor with PCOS experience will be a bonus.

    Thank you for your help!

    Cheers,

    Karen

Karen, my FS is great with PCOS. He will be tough on you and will insist that you lose weight if you need to. He's very blunt and will tell it exactly like it is. David Knight with Next Generation Fertility, rooms in Parramatta and Liverpool. Can't guarantee that he'll manage to avoid OHSS, or get you to a fresh transfer. I've done two stim cycles with him, both with OHSS despite everything we tried. No fresh transfer either time, but we're quite successful with our frozen transfers. Just got to find a way to make my babies stick!

There's also Dr Gavin Sacks with IVF Australia that is great - but we had to go to Kogarah to see him. Very kind, very gentle, but I've only seen him twice - he was our second opinion.

    Hi Karen,

    I am with IVF Australia.

I also have PCOS and see an endocrinologist as well. I have only good things to say about IVF Aust. I looked up the website and they have an office in Greenwich. Ric Porter is based there - he is the medical reporter on the Today show. He also has a great name. The also often confer with eachother if obsure issues - which I like.

    Goodluck...

    Hi Karen,

I am also in Sydney north area and not happy with the FS I was seeing. I have just finished my 3rd stim cycle (2nd cycle with no fertilisation) and am looking at changing. I would be interested to know who you decide to go with.

I am with Sydney IVF Norwest but am considering seeing a more experienced FS in Sydney IVF city clinic (Mark Bowman who did my 3rd transfer) or going to IVF Australia - I'm just not sure.

    Good luck.

    Dear all,

Many thanks for all of your recommendations. I have also checked with a few of my friends for suggestions and here is a list of doctors which I have heard good feedback from:

Dr Rick Porter - IVF Australia
Kim Matthews - Next Generation Fertility
David Shelly-Jones - Sydney IVF City
Mark Livingstone - Sydney IVF City

    Other recommendations will be welcome.

Karen, hope this list will help you.

Derek Lok at Sydney IVF is awesome, we saw him at Liverpool but he works out of the city as well. The nurses there are great too & will give you heaps of advice on how to avoid OHSS.
