For me, my clinic goes "natural". This means I take a drug to induce ovulation first. It works similarly to clomid - days 4 to 8 and then I stop. Blood tests begin when the clinic brings me in - can be day 11 to day 15 depending on which nurse I get when I call. Although, ovulation is moving earlier and earlier for me, so I don't think I can wait until day 15 again! Blood tests continue until they detect an LH surge. This could be the hell of daily blood tests, or they could tell me to go away for a few days before I go in again.
Once the LH surge has been detected, we get a transfer date. I'll get a phone call the day before from the scientists telling me how the embryo(s) went during thaw, and the time I need to turn up the following day. The night before transfer I have one progesterone pessary. Transfer, then wait until blood test. No more pessaries for me at all.
