DH and I have been TTC'ing since July 2008, and are yet to get a BFP. We put off going to see a Dr until after our wedding (I didn't need the added stress), but now I am ready to admit we have some kind of major problem, and am about to book a Dr appointment.

One of my friends has just made an appointment to see their dr after over a year of no BFP's. She has told her Dr what they have been doing (obviously) and details about her cycle and general health. She requested a referal to a fertility specialist and got one straight away as they have been trying for over 12 months. She is also going in for blood tests in the next few days and after that she is speaking to her fertility specialist to see what the next steps are.

If you go to your GP and just tell them that you have been TTC since July 08, they will send you off for a blood test and probably u/s as well. At least that is what they did with me. DH also had to go and have a semen analysis. If you have been charting your temps, it might be handy to take them as well. If you aren't charting, it could be a good idea to start, that way, during the upcoming tests, and waiting for a FS appointment, you might get a month or two headstart on having a temp chart for the FS to have a look at.
