right so i hate my job... well thats a bit strong most of the time a really enjoy it but really feel inthe whole timei have been there i have been getting a bit shafted... i have not had full staff ever just when i get the ok to have two full staff for me the other one leaves and they won't employ two so still down to one... so i thought stuff it and have applied for a few jobs.. but they are likely to be just a stressful - ok probably not eh travelling as such but stilll.... we are TTC so do i sit on it and see how the new person pans out (Hasn't started yet) or jump ship at the first offer... do i go for more money if its offered or look for job satisfaction - knowing that i hopefully will have little ones popping out of me inthe near future... how much can stress affect early pg - could that hae caused my m/c?
Trust me Aj go for a job with low stress levels. My job is stressful mentally and physically(I'm a disability support worker) and my BP blew up.I had to leave and go on maternity leave at 23 weeks after the doctor threatened to put me in hospital and explained the consequences of having a baby early! My bp was high from earlier on in the pregnancy and it just played havoc on me(protein in my wee!Yuck!)
Since I've been on maternity leave my BP has actually lowered and remained stable. So the less stress in your life the better.....think of yourself and your bub to be........................
AJ, I am struggling to give you advice here, but I do agree to go with low stress levels over everything else.
I had been TTC for about 3 years in one job (which was v.stressful) when we had an opportunity to move interstate (which meant me changing jobs, which I was relieved about). The new job in itself bought stress in as much as it was a very different environment and a new area to work in (I am a project manager and this new job was in constructionIT rather than marketing IT).
But overall the new job was a LOT less stresssful and I concieved and had Olivia 12 months after we had moved!
It all could be coincidence, but the fresh start and the less stress may have had something to do with it?
I also think that sometimes a change in your environment can be a good thing when TTC.....takes your mind off things?
AJ, I am in a similar situation at the moment also. I am opting for less stress and job satisfaction. I have applied for another job with better hours, closer to home etc hoping that it will help us along with TTC as well.
I would think that high stress levels, BP etc would have some amount of negative impact on conceiving.
For me, getting out of the stressful environment I think is going to help a lot. Everyone is different and I guess deals with stress differently so I guess all I can say is that you need to put yourself first and do what is best for you and DH.
well out of four cv's i sent off i have two interviews so far and the other two only closed last night so might still be in the running -i complained to my boss saying that in the two years i had been there i had acheived nothing blah blah and he just kinda blew me off - so yeah - the first job interveiw was last wednesday and it isn't really what i want - the next one on monday 20th will be interesting, so i guess we will see - to be honest the money thing isn't the biggest motivator- all the jobs i am going for will have a certain level of stress- compliance manager jobs- but the travel is a big thing in my mind - currently travel one-two weeks out of avery month.. not easy when you are trying to time things right...
love the avatar Jillian- belly already huh? i am so envious... Yeah really looking forward to it actually - be interesting to see if i am any good... I have never been to an interveiew and not gotten the job either so it will be good for my inflated ego not to get to the next level with some of these..
