You may want to follow your heart and put your baby first. There will always be work (whether your work does negotiate or if there may be another job with better conditions), but your child's first few years are priceless.

Putting my child first worked for me - things have a way of working out in difficult situations. When I was ready to come back to work, it was under my terms and with negotiable hours that suit the ''work/family/life'' balance. I wouldn't settle for anything less.
