Hi all,

I got told by my boss today that should I apply for a position coming up in the next few weeks, I would easily be the frontrunner for the job. In the last 2 expression of interests, I ranked 1st of 13 and 14 applicants respectively, by quite a margin.

BUT if I get the job, he is pretty sure I will not be able to come back part-time when I complete my parental leave unless I can find someone to job share with.

The problem is there just aren't many people in positions in that level in the entire dept, let alone to job share a job that requires such specialised knowledge. So really I will likely have buckley's chance of getting someone to job share.

And it means to take the position, I'd have to give up my current position, and it is in this position that I have already negotiated to come back part-time in April 2007.

So my question is: what do I do? Do I take a punt at a higher paying job in the hopes that something works out by April 2007? Or do I play it safe and be conservative and stay where I am?

love
sushee

Edited to add that the interviews are likely going to be held about a month or so before my EDD!
