I just wanted to share...

I have 2 little ones, DD is 16 months and DS is 11 weeks. I am on maternity leave from my company but I have always done a bit of personal conaulting, which is allowed under my contract. The week before last, I went for an interview with a lovely company to sub-contract for them ad hoc when they need writers and desktop publishers. I thought it went well and, as they work quite flexibly, I was really hoping that I could get some work out of it because it suits me great to do a few hours at home each night.

Well, Thursday I got a call with my first lot of subcontracting. I have about 14 hours work with everything due close of business Monday. So far I am three quarters of the way through and I'm pinching myself because I feel so lucky. I am home with the kids during the day, can work while they are sleeping and feel like I'm contributing to the household finances again. Not to mention that I'm using my brain again and don't feel guilty buying little bits and pieces.

I really hope this works out because I feel like I've hit the jackpot!
