This may be a stupid question, but im wanting to cook roast Beef and veg for dinner tonight - but i have just cleaned oven out on weekend so dont want to messy it up just yet!
Can you cook roast beef in electric fry pan?
If so how long for ( i like it well done and not at all mooing) and do u keep lid on?
and when do u put potato and pumpkin in?
We do this quite regularly. Our oven door is broken, so we can cook things way more consistently in the electric frying pan - and it's quicker, too.
We usually put the vegies in at the same time as the meat - but then we are usually only doing a small roast for 2-3 people. We'll get the pan hot, brown the outside of the meat all over, then turn it down, chuck in the vegies, put the lid on... turn the meat once or twice. Generally it will cook in 60-90 minutes depending on the size of the roast. If you've got a bigger piece and want it well done you could perhaps go a bit longer.
I have to admit that DH is the main cook here, so I'm really only guessing on times!
lucky you!
thank you - my roast turned out just beautifully! i found the roast vegies cook way quicker in fry pan than in the oven!
Definatly going to cook in the fry pan more often!!!
I'm glad it turned out well! I've found that the electric frypan is better for roasting than the oven. The vegies are usually crisper on the outside and really soft on the inside - just the way I like them. And best of all for Summer - it heats the house less!
DH cooking is a matter of necessity - I have a lot of trouble with arthritis in my hands at times and if it was down to me to do all the cooking, we'd starve.
