    Hi there.

Cant really help much i have never seen or had herpes. Acne is common in pregnancy not sure why your DW thinks its herpes but could it be a coldsore??? if your DW is concerned i'd suggest a visit to the GP.

A coldsore is a form of herpes. (Herpes Simplex virus)

I usually use Carmex on coldsores and as a lip balm(in the little yellow tub) not to sure if zovirex etc is safe. Maybe ring her ob and ask if she is worried.

I take L-lysine tablets when I have a coldsore, they work the best and fastest for me.

I also found I got some acne when I fell pg but I don't usually get acne. No harm getting the doctor to do a blood test for herpes, because if she does have herpes in her genitals during the delivery they need to take special precautions.

Zovirax is NOT safe during preg

I get cold sores - Calmex is the way to go

And yes, coldsores are herpes virus ...

Thank you for all the suggestions. We will be checking with our OB tomorrow and get it checked out.

I use bepanthen when I feel a coldsore start, and 99% of the time it doesnt go any further then the tingley stage. Not sure if it'll help now but for next time

Oh, and I don't think its an issue for birth if your worried about that. I think it's only an issue if she were to have an active episode of genital herpes (thats my understanding anyway).
