I may be wrong but I think long term drinking is the cause of problems.

In any case, you can't take it back. Leave it behind you now and stay on your anti d's mate.

    XOXOXOX all the very best

I did a course at uni where alcohol medication and pregnancy was discussed, and Lulu is right. problems with the baby (feotal alcohol syndrome) is usually associated with long term chronic drinking.

I had not had a drink until that week basically, so I guess it was not long term drinking but a big slip up due to not seeking help and being too proud.

Having worked in the field of Drugs and Alcohol for 4.5 years, I can confirm what Lulu has said. It has to do with the quantity, duration, and developmental stage of the unborn child. Given how far along you were, I doubt you have done any harm to your baby but can understand your concerns. I could tell you some very scary stories about how much and what people have taken throughout their pregnancies and their baby has been completely fine and healthy!

I'm glad to hear you have recommenced your medication. If you are still worried about your unborn child, please make an appointment with your care giver and organise an ultrasound to reassure yourself that baby is fine. Please don't think they will judge you - they won't.

Sidney14- Im so sorry to hear u have been through this. What I find positive about this is, that its good to hear u acknowledge that u have slipped up, that u care about bubba, and that u really do want help. It takes alot of strength in a situation like that for someone to acknowledge they have made a mistake. I was reluctant about taking anti d's when I got pregnant. I went and saw my doctor and she put me on Zoloft. Good luck for the outcome. Maybe when u go see ur dr u could ask for a scan to put ur mind at ease.

    Hugs.

Sidney, if you're worried about being judged, do you have a real life friend or someone from BellyBelly that could go to the docs with you for moral support? That might help. Super glad to hear you've got things sorted with your medication. Make sure you shout out to your doc next time you feel things are getting on top of you hey. All the best.
