I think I mentioned in another thread the other day that I was having some abdominal pain on the right side. It started on Thursday and by Saturday afternoon I couldn't put up with it anymore so went and saw the GP at the hospitals after hours clinic. She sent me straight over to the midwives at the hospital to do an ultrasound. The ob on duty came and saw me and suspected it was my appendix but wasn't sure because I had no temperature, no nausea, no vomiting - only pain. So he rang the surgeon who then came to see me as well and they decided to take my appendix out! Better to be safe than sorry.
Bit of a worry for me but the docs and nurses were very reassuring that bub would be ok. It turned out that I did have appendicitis. My appendix was rotten and had even burst a little. Left a little longer, I would have been in a worse situation.
So bub and I have been under a general anaesthetic, had a few shots of pethidine, antibiotics and some needles in my belly to prevent clotting.
So just came out of hospital tonight and feeling very sore and tender. Bubs is good, I kept asking them to check its heartbeat and all is well Hopefully, this is the only drama until bubs is ready to come out.
