As of yesterday I know I am dehydrated. Ms hasn't been great to me.
I am keeping a trip to my gp in mind, but I can't really be admitted for fluids right now, so wondering if anyone can tell me what are the best fluids for me to be drinking.
I might be able to get to town for some hydrolite or something, but probably not.
I'm thinking gatorade? Obviously water, & I'm trying hard to keep it down. I know coke is good for potassium levels, so might try a glass later on, but can't stand the taste at the moment.
I've also lost about 5 kilo's, I'm hoping thats just from food & not from lack of fluids too.
My sister had really bad morning sickness was admitted to hospital with severe dehydration while she was pregnant. They gave her Hydralite (not sure if that's teh right spelling), some Vitamin B tablets and some medication to stop her vomiting. They actually gave her meds they use for chemotherapy nausea because Maxalon wasn't strong enough.
I think you should see your Dr about it before taking anything though.
I have tried most of that stuff. I had HG with my girls. The maxalon sent me into panic attacks for some reason, so my gp wasn't sure about trying the soffran (I think thats the one you mean?)
I might just have to try to get to town for the hydralite.
I'm thinking hospital if nothing else helps today, but I can't til at least tomorrow coz DH has to work tonight. Noone else is close enough to have the kids.
Hi Clover
Sever morning sickness can be very serious for both you and your baby. However if it has not been too sever then you may need to just replace fluids and water will do this providing that you can keep it down. If it is sever then you may be losing salts and minerals along with fluids and these need to be replaced. Hydrolyte can help to do this.
Zofran is commonly used to reduce the vomiting caused by chemotherapy. It is also getting more popular for morning sickness. I have heard of maxalon causing panic attacks but I have not heard of zofran doing this.
Thanks Alan. They gave me maxalon 3 times & it scared me, so I wasn't game enough to try anything else.
I the ms hasn't been as severe as it was with my girls, thats why I'm trying my best to do what I can at home before I do see my gp. If I don't see a change in my symptoms after I spend a day just trying to keep fluids down, I will give him a ring & see what he says.
I will definetely try to get to town for the hydralite too. Or will try to get DH to get me some.
Thanks again.
Well, I think I'll beat this
Weeing more often, & not so smelly & yellow anymore & lips aren't as dry.
Started to feel dizzy & light headed again this arvo, out of breath & tired, but better than I have for weeks.
Just gotta keep this up. Or down
