    Bunged up sinuses

    Hi All,

I'm sitting at about 10 weeks pg now, and since about 3 weeks I have had SUPER over active sinuses. My ears are getting sore now, and I have been coughing so much I want to throw up. There is nothing worng with my chest, the Dr has said so twice. I have been taking some homeopathic meds to try and dry it up, but nothing seems to help.
Has anyone else expeirenced this? If you have, how did you get around it?

    Thanks

    Hi Kimi -
Yep I have awful sinuses on and off (pregnancy related), I thought I had a cold that I just couldn't shake as my nose was continually blocked. I finally got some rhinocort which I used morning and night (2 sprays in each nostral) and it cleared up in a few days. Also have a look in the articles section of BB as I think there is an article on sinus pain in pregnancy and suggested remedies.
Goodluck with it - I know how painful and debilitating it can be.
NB- I wouldn't think the coughing would be related to sinus - maybe see a Dr re: this just to check if all is ok.

    Thanks Carrie.
The coughing is from the post nasal drip, or "waterfall" in my case.
Spoke to another GP and he suggested another nasal spary, which is safe, and a decongestant. I was so relieved about it. But if it gets worse, I will go and see him.

I used Octravin during my pregnancy with Charlie......I had shocking sinus issues with him.

My OB recommended it, and suggested it can only be used sparingly duirng pregnancy.

I swear by the stuff now!

I have no idea if this would help, but there is an old-wives-tale that say the you can sniff seawater/very saltwater for blocked sinuses
After being fed-up with sinuse-meds that did not work, I did just that (I was not pg) and yes it clears the sinuses, but it burns like high hell, so be prepeard.
I sounds medicaly incorrect and I am sure that it's frowned apon by drs, but hey, it worked for me

I found that using the Tissue Salt Combin of J helps with sinuses or using the separate Tissue Salts numbers 5 and 7. They have made a huge difference in my life.
