Can I have RHNeg if I am O+

    Hi
My OB has ordered some blood tests to check for RH Neg. I am O+, I didn't think I could have RH Neg with a positive blood group. Am I wrong here? This is my 4th pregnancy. I have two children and have had one miscarriage.
My first 2 children had severe jaundice and the OB at the time said he suspected there may be a blood group incompatibility. How is this possible if I am o+? My husband does not know his blood type and we don't know our children's blood types either. It's a bit confusing and I am wondering why he is ordering the tests if It is not possible for me to be RHneg.
    Thanks
    LisaB.

Doesn't make much sense, maybe they should be testing your DH?? I would get some clarification on why he is ordering the tests for sure. Perhaps he thinks that you are mistaken..

If your a + in any group you are fine. There is no reason for further testing. I would be asking ur doc why he wants this done.

Your baby could be rhesus neg but the only problem is is you are rhesus neg, not the bub. Rhesus neg is recessive, non of my parents, brothers or sister are neg.

My husband and I are both RH Neg blood types, so when I was pregnant I didn't have anti D. However, I am a weak RH. Somehow I got a positive baby. Apparently we each carry 2 genes and that is how I came to have a positive baby. I was once typed as positive when I gave blood, but I was typed several times after that as I was confused. Each time I was Neg. So it can happen, rare though.

Doesn't make any sense to me. If you know you are definatly O+ then you can't be Neg.
