Extremely embarrassing TMI question...about my bum.

Mkay. I am mega MEGA embarrassed posting this, but I know you girls are lovely and will not laugh! (I hope!! ) Be warned, this could be a bit too descriptive and TMI for some.

For pretty much all of my adult life (so let's say since 13) I can remember having what I can only describe as a skin tag above my anus Probably about half the size of a pinky fingernail. It has just felt like a small fleshy sack. I have much smaller skin tags elsewhere, a tiny one above my left eye and a slightly larger one on my underarm. The one above my bum has never done anything except be there, never been sore, and always empty.

For the last 4 or so days, it has felt very sore, at first just with wiping, but now also with walking and sitting too. I got DF to look at it today, and it is reddish instead of flesh coloured and is bigger, about a 20 cent piece! And when I feel it with my fingers, there are hard lumps inside it, that I can move around It is really sore, on fact my whole anus area feels sore, inside and out.

What is it??? Or rather, what has it become? Wth are the hard things inside? I have felt more pressure downstairs lately because of being pregnant. Has or become a hemoroid (sp?) I've never had one before, I'm not sure what's going on? Should I call the hospital?

    Eeek soooo embarrassed right now

I have no advice, but don't be embarrassed!!! That's the beauty of an online forum!! You don't have to look anyone in the face! haha

Good luck and hopefully someone on here will know something!

hmmmm I would go get it checked. It sounds like either it is hemoroids that have popped into it or there is something weird going on. Chances are though I bet its Hemoroids.
Not that I am actually going to suggest you do do this. BUT you know I would be very tempted to see if you can gently push back the hard lumpy bits & see if they go back in?

It sounds like hemorrhoids to me.

Hemorrhoids are painful, swollen veins in the lower portion of the rectum or anus.

    Causes, incidence, and risk factors
This condition is very common, especially during pregnancy and after childbirth. Hemorrhoids result from increased pressure in the veins of the anus. The pressure causes the veins to bulge and expand, making them painful, particularly when you are sitting.

Don't be embarrassed it is a fairly common pregnancy thing. Have a chat to your GP about it (or other health care provider) and they will be able to recommend a safe hemerrhoid cream for pregnancy. Your pharmacist may also be able to help if you want something tomorrow.

There are other things you can do to help hemorrhoids too - don't strain to poo so having plenty of water and fibre will help with that. Pregnancy causes constipation often which in turn causes hemorrhoids.

Lots and lots of pregnant women get them. It's best to get them seen to because they can just get larger and more painful if you leave them.

I would be more concerned that they are popping into what she thinks is a skin tag that she has had all her life. hemoroids are one thing but I would be chatting to your Ob/GP or middy about it first.

Just realised there is a link on BB about them - Haemorrhoids: Fast Treatments For Haemorrhoids in Pregnancy

There is information on treating them at the bottom including the name of a cream that is okay to use in pregnancy - Proctosedyl.

That article I posted a link to on the BB website has skin tags as one of the symptoms. Not all roids are painful so I would be guessing it was probably just a small one that hasn't bothered you until recently and not really a skin tag at all.

It's also possible it's a boil. I have a skin tag at my lower butt cheek right near the crack and it got inflamed a while back. Because that is such a sensitive area I suggest getting it checked hun

lol PZ... our poor DH's and the things we sometimes ask them to do huh... I think that they'd not ever ask us to do the same ... I only applied mine topically... I didn't even read any other bit lol.... I used to pop it on cotton bud or cotton ball so I didn't get it on my fingers lol. Hope it does the trick and helps you

Rofl I tried that in the shower. They went in but have come back!

Bah so is it just a cream I need for roids? Don't need to run to the ED, arms flailing? I just got so freaked out that my innocent little bum-tag has become so hug and painful.

DF calls it my Bum Clit In case you all werent LOLing at me enough already

ETA thanks for all the info!!! I try not to strain, one of the first things I was told (by Rouge hehe) when I fell was don't push, breathe the poo's out. Seems to work well I'm more embarrassed over my bum-tag lol!

PZ, I started giggling before I got to read what it was about!! You're so gorgeous .... I got roids when I was pg with Elijah... pain in the butt... pun intended lol... but seriously... I feel your embarrassment! Roid cream you can get over the counter at the chemist, I made DH do it for me . However, if it's not that then it's not going to help so I would probably ask your GP or even your middie might be able to help? Oh and PMSL @ bum clit... now that did make me crack up!

Arcadia... for real?? lol that's just plain weird! Never heard that before.. lol

I ordered mine online so I didn't have to explain anything to the chemist

I admit to this, after I wrote a post telling you not to be embarrassed - do as I say, not as I do

Wel I wasn't LOLing at all until you said that
I would be guessing roids as well, but def go get it checked out, JIC, by someone who can give a more accurate diagnosis than bum clit Perhaps your GP

Yeah that was DF's and my main concern too, is it bad that they are there? I would feel more comfy with a midwife than a GP, would I just call the hospital and explain it to a nurse? All my apps have been at home so I babe t dealt with the hospital yet, not sure.
