    Fever!

So this morning I came down with the gastro bug. All the usual vomiting, runs, stomach cramps etc.

I haven't had to do either for about 4 hours, but now I have the aches and a mild fever. I'm trying to get the dehydration under control with hydrolytes and water but I am a bit worried with the fever.

From what I have read, in the third trimester fever isn't too much of a concern (obviously within reason).

I'm tossing up between having a paracetamol to hopefully kill the fever, and letting the fever run it's course to kill off the bug. Baby is moving heaps still.

    Any suggestions? Help!

(Oh and top it all off I have been separated from dd all day so she doesn't get it and she is staying with my MIL and daddy tonight it's what I wanted so she doesn't get sick but I miss her so much. I've never spent a whole day apart from her, let alone a night )

What sort of temp are we talking? For me, if I know the cause especially (eg gastro) I usually let it run it's course until it either breaks, or I feel really unwell.

    Re: Fever!

I had gastro 4 times in my last pregnancy. My normal go to response is to ring the hospital and talk to the midwives if I'm unsure. I'd probably give it another 24 hours and if you're still not feeling better go to the GP.

    Thanks!

Fever is 37.5 on my forehead and 38.5 in my ear.

DH had spoken to the mw earlier and she said she wasn't too fussed.

    Re: Fever!

Sounds like what DH has had....24 hrs later, he's better, so hope you are too. x

That's not a huge fever IMO. I'd ride it out if you can, but I'm not a panadol kinda person....I did make DH take some before bed though as it helped him sleep. Which meant I slept too As long as you're replacing those lost fluids, you should be fine.
