Getting rid of metallic taste in mouth...What did you do?

Okay, I should start by saying I am not pregnant.

But I am currently doing a cycle of IVF and for the past 24 hours or so I have had the worst metallic taste in my mouth. I can't get rid of it no matter what I eat/drink/do. It's horrid!

I have done some research (thanks Dr Google!) and apparently it's due to rising estrogen, which is the same cause of metallic mouth in early pregnancy.

If you have suffered from it, how did you fix it?

I know mine will disappear once I have the eggs removed (at least I think it will!) but it would be great if I could do something to help now!

    thanks in advance

    Okay....almost a month on and I have a related question .....

For those who suffered with metallic mouth in early pregnancy, can you remember when it started?? Was it week three or four before you got your BFP? Or was it later?

Had you had it before and not been utd?

    Thanks

pretty early, but don't think pre-BFP.

    never had it sans-pg though.

Pre-BFP. Week 3. I found that drinking milk helped, only from when I used to donate plasma, the anticoagulant they put in your blood makes you get a metallic taste in your mouth so they give you a milkshake to help with that.

Hmmmm Audux....is that like heparin? Or clexane?? A blood thinner?

The reason I ask is I am 8dpo and for two days I have had the worst metal mouth.

I have been on clexane though for six days...(no excitement please )

eta: just read it can also be caused by Metformin - which I take...false alarm then

    Thanks guys x

For me it was pre-BFP. Exactly four days after conception was the day it hit, I waited until I was 'safe' to test and BAM, metal-mouth was right, I had to lay off the soft-serve lol
As far as cures for it.... Vegemite. Three inches thick, on everything, and full-cream milk.

    Good luuuuucccckkkk!!
